Person Who Has Inspired Me Most

Everyone needs to be inspired and having others inspire you can only have positive effects. Its one of life's win win things. By acting in ways that inspire others we ourselves benefit, as we are giving rather than receiving. Also, those we inspire benefit and hopefully go on to inspire others in turn. It can only be good thing for society as a whole when we are inspired by others and are ourselves an inspiration to ohers.
So who has inspired me? Well, as a young person there were many people who inspired me. I didn't have a particularly easy childhood, as I grew up in relative poverty and my parents divorced when I was aged 8, after a traumatic marriage. Parents who lost children were amongst the most inspiring but sometimes it was individuals who showed joy at life's blessings such as the birth of a child. When my wife was in hospital with complications before the birth of our son, we became friends with an Ethiopian couple who were having similar problems and they were an inspiration with their constant joy and faith, whatever the situation. We have remained friends ever since and though they have experienced many trials in life since, they remain as positive and joyful as ever, no doubt due, in large part, to their faith.
These are all people I have met, but many who I have never met have also been an inspiration. Who can fail to be inspired by Rev. Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela? The list is too long to write out in full but here are some others who have inspired me in a particular area or in general:
. Pete Seeger and Bob Dylan with their music and lyrics
• Queen Elizabeth II with her devotion to duty, ability to relate to anyone and everyone and her fortitude when life deals her a poor hand
• Ansel Adams - photographer
• Those who forgive the murderers of their loved ones when all the world is full of hate and bitterness
• Anyone who has overcome disability to live life to the full, often much more than me, to my shame.
