When I think of my career goals, I ask myself what I want to accomplish in life. I know that I love helping patients and families, and I want to continue to do that. I always am changing my mind on what I want to do after my BSN. I don’t know when or if I will get my masters or continue to work at the bedside for a while. I love what I do and what I do for other people and families. Working in the critical care unit feels like home. I get to do what I love.
Goals, goals, goals they're what people think about and how they are going to achieve them in the future. My three goal in life are to get in the college of my choice, go skydiving and to get a well paying job. These three goals are important to me because they are what I am likely to achieve within the next ten years. As I grow and blossom into someone big, someone bigger than who I am today I don’t mean just physically but bigger intellectually, and more capable. These goals show me that if I want to achieve them, then I have to work hard to accomplish them.
A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my work hours and keeping in touch with my advisor. My goals were achieved after a month and I was proud it made me feel like I could achieve anything as long as I put my mind to it.
While in grade school, my teachers always asked what I wanted to become in future, and I always answered, “To be great person.” With the passage of time, I got knowledge and skill background. My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.

A college education will take me many places and open up many career opportunities for me. Without a college education, I would not be prepared for the cruel world. Going to college will help me develop the skills that are essential to be successful in this world. The motto that pushes me to get through my day is “you only get out what you put in”. Throughout my time in college, I have learned more about myself, and who I truly am. By keeping myself involved on campus, I have made connections and have built relationships with my peers. After my time at Kansas State University, my goal is to become a physical therapist because it will allow me to help make an impact on others. Without a college education I would be stopping myself from achieving my goals.

Am I ready for high school? What changes am I going to make to be successful? Do I have my short and long term goals planned out? Many questions that I was asked right before my first year of high school are ones that I didn't take literal notice of. It wasn't that those questions weren't important and wouldn't have been beneficial. It was mainly being that walking into high school for the first time I didn’t know where to go, who to talk to, and most importantly what were my goals after graduating. At the time my mind was set on childish attributes such as what girls would be there, was I well groomed, or how many of my friends did I have in my class . While growing up I never had anyone explain to me the significance of a GPA . I didn't

An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall goal is no different than any other student, however, I also have several personal goals I hope to achieve while attending the University. Some of these goals are to acquire new skills and enhance my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to feel personal satisfaction of finishing something I started.
