Personal Characteristics
Based on the stages of human development, I am currently in my early adulthood phase. I describe myself as sincere, hardworking, and independent women. I also consider myself very brave and rebellious because I moved to the United States by myself after high school. I chose to move out of my family because I wanted to be a changemaker. In terms of my personal life, I am emotionally very strong, and I bring a cheerleading vibe when I see people feeling very down or upset. On the other hand, I am a very serious and focused person in my professional life. Furthermore, my friends describe me as a reliable, friendly, strong, and matured person. While, in a work setting my colleagues describe me as determined, ambitious, and wise.
For this assignment, I took the Myers-Briggs test. I was very much satisfied with the results. According to the assessment, I have a ENFJ type of personality. It is believed that around two to five percent of all the population have this type of personality. Furthermore, this personality is considered as warm, outgoing, loyal, and sensitive. The first letter E resembles the extraversion character. This means that we have an outgoing personality and like to spend time with people. The next letter I is about intuition, and this means that we like to think about future rather than present. The following letter F is regarding feelings, and it means that we always think how a decision will impact others rather than sticking to

Assessment techniques and the techniques used are a part of every counselor’s career. It is important that all counselors are aware of the different assessment procedures available as well as the risks and benefits associated with them. I chose to assess the case of Jessica, a medical resident, who has a very high pace and stressful job. She is also a perfectionist and can be very self-critical. Lately, she feels that she is not performing at the level she once was. As a result, she has been experiencing feelings of shame and worthlessness. Jessica has also been increasingly fatigued yet is having difficulty falling asleep at night. She also admits having difficulty concentrating, little interest in sex and has become increasingly irritable
A very useful model to assess a person personality and behavior pattern is through the use of the big five test. This test allows an administrator to get an accurate and quick assessment of the patients personality. The big five model is a widely used, modern, validated and replicated methodology for evaluating, understanding, and measuring one’s personality (McAdams, 1992). When I took the personality test I was assigned the letter “ENFJ”, meaning my personality is an extravert, Intuitive, feelings, and judge. Each of these personality are relating to each other. I am aware that my personality is a positive and negative influence in my work and at every organization there are worker with different personalities.
A key to succeeding in the workforce is being able to understand different personalities, and learning to working with them in any environment. Being able to learn about others personalities helps one build successful relationships with others. Learning about one self-typed personality will also assist with self-understanding and self- awareness. Taking a Jungian 16- Type Personality test online, a 64 question test, I was able to determine my personality type to be ENTJ, and my temperament being NT. Results from this test revealed a general description of my personality trait, and how my personality trait interacts in social, relationship and career situations. The website also discusses the strengths and weaknesses of my ENTJ personality, as well as how my personality interacts with the other 15 personality traits. In this paper I will discuss my ENTJ personality trait in detail, as well as the effects it will have on my future career.
My confirmed profile is ENTJ according to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); this means that in business and school I am inclined to lead, I deal with things with reason and logic. I like solving complex problems when I see inefficiencies. I love planning for the long term, setting goals, and being organized. I am a pursuer of knowledge and enjoy sharing what I’ve learned. The letter E stands for extroversion, which reflects how I become energized by interacting with others. The letter N stands for intuition, which signifies how I take in information. Intuition roots from within, which means I take information from what I believe in. The letter T stands for thinking, which represents how I process information. Thinking means I process my information based on logic. The letter J stands for judging, which characterizes how I integrate the information that’s been processed. Judging means I like a planned approach to doing things. (Myers).
The Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) enables an individual to gain a deeper insight into their inherent personality traits. For some people, they have had prior knowledge or underlying assumptions about their personality, but this test provides clearer information about each of their identifiable traits. According to the MBTI in Human-metric personality test, my scores were 22% (E) extroverted thinking more than introverted, 9% (N) intuitive as oppose to sensing, 16% (T) thinking more than feeling, and 12% (J) judging as compared to perceiving. Thus, my personality type is ENFJ. The ENFJ personality group is described as a minority group that consists of natural-born leaders, and people filled with passion, and charisma for example, Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey; they are notable members of this group, also known as the protagonists (16personalities, 2016). The protagonists apprehend pride in providing guidance for others to improve individually and to improve the community at large (16personalities, 2016). The protagonists find it naturally easy to communicate with others and excel at communicating with other people in person (16personalities, 2016).
After taking the Individual Personality Assessment my personality trait came back as ESFJ (Extraverted Sensing Feeling Judging). ESJFs are social, structured and very assertive. Most ESJFs enjoy being around a crowd of people without feeling anxious or overwhelmed. ESFJ are very structured when it comes to following plans, events and things of that nature.
The Meyers-Briggs personality test is a self-administered test used to determine a person 's personality type based on their preferences and self-perception. According to this test my personality type is ISTP which stands for introversion, sensing, thinking, and perceiving. In this essay, I will discuss the impact of these preferences in my life and my opinion of the results of the Myers-Briggs test.
Everyone has a different personality that determines their patterns of behavior, thoughts, and feelings. Myers Briggs have determined that there are sixteen different personalities among people. Upon completing the short questionnaire, I have been assigned the logistician, or ISTJ, personality type. In the past, I have completed other personality tests when I was trying to decide on a major that most fit me. These other quizzes also resulted in this personality classification.
Personality psychologists define personality as the psychological traits that contribute to an individual’s enduring and distinctive patterns of feelings, thinking, and behavior, (Cervone & Pervin, 2013). Now, this statement can denote that personality might be somehow fixed. Perhaps the most obligatory questions to ask in this regards are: is personality inherited or acquired. Can individual’s personality be altered? For decades, these and many other questions have been subjects of much research. This paper aims to briefly present some of my most marked personality characteristics: organized, responsible, anxious, and a go-getter; and how do early development, family and social relationships, and education have contributed to the formation of these traits.
What separates a person that goes far in life from one who does not? More specifically, what is the character trait that makes the difference? The simple answer to that is motivation. I chose motivation because I think it is something that I show. Motivation is a good word to describe me because I am motivated in several aspects of life such as: school, extracurricular activities and community involvement. My personal definition of motivation is, the force that makes someone want to go above and beyond what is asked of them.
I used the MMDI test which gives you similar result to the Myers-Briggs test. My results were ESTJ. The letter E stands for Extraversion. An extrovert gets their energy from other people and tends to like working in groups. They typically learn though interacting with their surrounds and engaging with the environment. S stands for sensing. This scale focuses on how you receive information. These people learn from facts, typically have more common sense, and are good with memorizing facts. Next, letter is a T, which stands for thinking. This scale tells you how you like to make decisions. These people typically use logic and reasoning to make decisions and analyze and weigh different evidence when trying to make different decisions. Lastly, I tested the letter J, which stands for judging. This scale tells the person about their life style and work habits. These people typically live a very structured and orderly life. They are known to plan ahead and are very well organized.
Children begin to exhibit signs of independence when they are between two to three years, and autonomy is an aspect of positive mental health (Cervone & Pervin, 2010, p.174). Children desire more independence when they reach their preadolescent years, and parents who provide decision-making opportunities such as how to spend money and what clothing to wear facilitate a child’s emotional functioning (Qin, Pomerantz, & Wang, 2009).
