The sound of a man's breath filled the vast and murky space, a silhouette could be seen. His arms and legs were suspended in the air by spider-like webs, as his body lazily leaned forward. Slowly a small light shined in the man’s face. Hesitantly, he opened his eyes, blinking rapidly trying to adjust his eyes to the foreign light. The light then left his face and moved forward shining towards a building that was in front of the man. Lights turned on instantly making figures slowly appear in each window. There were three floors in the building, the first floor had a set of three large windows. The window on the right side had a family watching television, laughing on cue with the jokes. They held each other close as their bright smiles …show more content…
They swayed back and forth like a circus lights.
"Welcome ladies and gentleman!" a loud voice boomed, "Welcome to the greatest show in The Twin Vale!" The lights then stopped on the roof of the building. At the top was a woman that wore a tattered and a dirtied face. Blood ruined the end of her dress and her hair was painted with a similar shade of red. Her arms were tied back and tears streamed down her face. Her body was also tied to a series of strings forcing her to move towards the edge. "Welcome to the show," the voice said as the woman took another step forward with tears, "of instant death" The woman struggling to halt her movements cried,"Please help!" The captive man forced his arms and legs to move, only to be pushed back by his strings. The voice laughed, the sound of drums and trumpets grew louder as the man fought to set his limbs free. The farther the woman walked, the more the music grew.
"Try all you want little bird, but your impurities hold you back," The voice yells,"It is your fault the woman will fall! Try all you want! Your lies will never set you free.".
Suddenly the people in the windows revealed themselves to the man. The men in every window had been him, except for the first. The family had been him when he was a child. The memories came flooding in like a hurricane. Fear, anger, love, hate, and pain. He felt all these emotions as he tried to escape the web strings. His
A saying i've kept to myself is to get back up when knocked down. This saying doesn’t just stand for getting up when literally knocked down but can keep a deeper meaning than what it says as for example being knocked down by a difficult obstacle to overcome and getting up to find a way to get past it and achieving it. Some people may not see this as something important but they don’t think about how getting up after knocked down can be something that can or would have been like a positive outcome into their life and how they are given two choices when knocked down which is to stay down or get back up and continue going forward.
I was ten, the most terrifying event I had been through was riding the little dragon roller coaster at the fair, but that night changed it all. The fear that started in my head spread like wildfire to the rest of my body from the tips of my fingers to the bottoms of my toes. My heart was racing so fast that it could have beat Usain Bolt in a 100m dash. Stop, drop and roll, three steps that should have come naturally, but instead I froze, looked down at my yellow and black checkered flannel in complete terror, fearing for my life.
It hurts. My bright red bruises under the light were buzzing from the pain. The yelling and arguing were muffled by my loud sobs. Why did this have to happen to me? I was just a kid, I didn’t do anything! Stomp stomp stomp. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. He found me and yelled into my ears even more. I was called ugly, fat, disgusting, useless, girly, weak. The words ringed in my ears as I asked myself once again, why? I was like a slave, I couldn’t defend myself, I had to survive the beatings. I succumbed to the insults and descended into chaos.
I had always assumed that my legs were strong and that I had decent muscle control, however, this thought was proven wrong at the beginning of my junior year in high school due to a detrimental injury. It was the first game of fall league for basketball, and within the first five minutes I had succumbed to an injury. Tearing my ACL and Meniscus has taught me to continue improving on my strength, not let this one injury keep me down, and to keep a positive mindset.
The heavy sounds of an epic orchestral piece vibrated through the tiny speakers before I could stop them. The sudden blast had almost caused an emotional meltdown, my sensitive hearing not quite accustomed to the barrage, but I fought through the cacophonous pain and found Good Vibrations.
I felt a warm heat behind me, I couldn't breathe. I knew something had gone wrong, I went through the window cramped up like a ball. As I got out of the house I could finally breathe, I turned my head and all I could see was flames. The man had done something harrowing. I could see it in his eyes dry yellow eyes.
The heavy clear doors slammed open one by one; big bright lights pierced my eyes above with little images of ceiling tile surrounding me that I could barely make out. People in navy blue uniforms huddled around me appearing to be in a hurry somewhere based on they’re bright red faces and the drops of sweat that were slowly dripping and collecting down they’re flushed faces, that eventually fell and exploded on my cold skin. All the commotion around me came to an abrupt halt. Now I was starring at the ceiling once again that now portrayed a blurring metal reflection of my broken and beaten down body that was bound to keep destructing and destroying. I could vaguely hear footsteps that seemed to be in the distance, but became louder and clearer with each step closer towards me. A sudden mask like object appeared directly over my face slowly easing its way down to grasp onto my pale face. Darkness now was the only thing left in sight and would stay this way for hours.
She is trapped, with her back against the ropes, her guard is down. His words are thrown like wild punches and in all her efforts to sway and avoid the punches. Her body stood still. She was defenseless. This misery turned into everyday normalities.
Weakness tore through her body as she tried to move, only to find herself tethered to chains on the wall; her efforts for liberation, while valiant, were in vain. She yanked the chains, trying to sever its attachment to
Everything about him made the hairs on my skin rise. Being behind him - not knowing I’m there - made my stomach fill up with butterflies. When he looks at me my cheeks turn a crimson color and it doesn’t go away for hours. I got hurt once before and I didn’t want to get hurt again and maybe all guys were the same that’s what we all say when we get heart broken. But, something about him made me want to get to know him, though I was afraid to get attached again.
The group gathered at Henry's two story house out in the thickets of Westwego. It was a upscale neighborhood from others , but not the richest one in the area . They placed there bags on the living room floor , looking around the place since its been remodeled . Colleen looks at Sam and Henry. “ I vote no matter what , we stay and sleep in the same room.” They both agreed to her idea , they got on the computer to research anything they can find on Scratch .
I had a frightening dream last night, I dreamed that I was walking high up on an old railroad trestle. It looked like the one I used to walk recklessly to. when I was about ten years old. At that height, my palms were sweating just as they did when I was a boy. I could see the ground out of the corners of my eyes, I felt a swooning, sickening sensation. Suddenly, I realized there were rats below, thousands upon thousands of rats. They knew I was up on the trestle. They were laughing because they were sure they would get me. Their teeth glinted in the moonlight. Their red eyes were like thousands of small reflectors that almost blinded my site. Sensing that there was something even more hideous behind me, I kept moving forward. Then I
For the next two hours, she suffered tortures no woman should endure. Her body cried out in protest. Her voice silent, stopped by the duct tape on her mouth.
The Declaration of Independence is a symbol of the birth of this nation, but also of the constant struggle to achieve its ideals. Ideals like “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”, the unalienable rights of the United States. The document also states that “it’s the right of the people to abolish it and institute a new government” whenever the government becomes destructive of the unalienable rights. I think it’s safe to say that Thomas Jefferson didn't just intend for the document to be read for the people to follow through with its words. However there is no mention of slavery or black people, or even women for that matter, on this primitive statement on the equal rights of man, and it
This explains the beginning of my life all the way to the end of my life. My life from the beginning was very fun as I grew up living with my mom’s friend and my friend. But there were a lot of fights and I was very hyper back then. I have ADHD so back then when I was little; I was very hyper and wouldn't stop moving around the place. I always was annoying back then and never seemed to get my homework done at school.
