If you want to be a welder, and actually have a career, you can go to a welding school and learn how to weld, or you can try to be a welders helper and just learn the trade. Welding can be a tough job if you don’t know what you are doing or you do not enjoy doing it. Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials together (Modern Welding). Some kids come and take welding just for a credit, I was one of them kids. I didn’t choose welding, but it does teach me what my dad does for a living. Heartland Career Center offers an outstanding Welding Technology Class (WLT) taught by Mr. Jack Holley. Heartland students attend class 5 days a week for around 3 hours a day. Internships are available, students that show potential and prove they can work, can have a chance to go work on a job site and learn more about pursuing their career as a welder.
