At first when you told me to start thinking about what my personal legend was and how it could not be what you want to be when you grow up, I had no clue what mine would be. Ever since the start of high school, I have spent more time researching my options for the future and feeling uncertain about my future more and more that I never stopped to think about what could make me live a satisfying life. Luckily we read this book and do this assignment because it made me start to think about what my personal legend in life could be. After thinking for quite a while I decided that my personal legend right now at least would to be as happy as possible throughout the rest of my life and cherish every moment possible, especially with friends and family.
In the story “I Am Legend”, written by Richard Matheson, revealed a flashback in chapter six, which talked about Robert Neville’s family before the plague started. The flashback was very effective in chapter six because it reveals how plague started and showed us the severity of it. The flashback also made points clear about Neville’s family and how they felt about the virus before it killed everyone. This helped me as a reader understand what happened to his family because it was never said in the story. “Maybe it’s some type of virus”, he said. She shook her head. “I don’t know.” “Between the storms and the mosquitoes and everyone being sick, life is rapidly becoming a pain.” This gives us some insight on how the virus may have been spread.
" The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams."- Oprah Winfrey. This quote meant a lot to a 13 year old youngster named Jared, who lived in the most impoverished town within Cambodia. To be quite specific, Jared resided in an old, rusty village, during the year of 2001, that he'd been living in since birth. His greatest aspiration in life was to become a geneticist. However, he did have a few roadblocks, such as poverty, and zero education. Whenever unoccupied, he strived to pay his Grandma Seda a visit at her senior citizen home, which was funded through the Cambodian government. Speaking of her, Grandma Seda was 96 year old lady and happened to be the grandmother of Jared. She was located at a senior citizen home 20 miles away from Jared's home. Six months ago she was diagnosed with leukemia and slow organ failure. Since her diagnosing, her health has been deteriorating rapidly.

My Hero’s Journey started when I left the comfort of my island home. As I reflect on who I was then and who I am now, I can see that my self-concept, the perceptions that I hold of myself, has evolved over the years (Alder, Rosenfeld, Proctor II, 2013 p. 66). While the “fundamental characteristics of my personality” have stayed the same, I know that the authors of Interplay correctly state that, “however, it is likely that in important ways you are changing- physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually” (p. 72). Through the lessons and skills learned from this class, the way in which I communicate with my family has also undergone change.
Everyone has a personal legend. The Alchemist is a perfect example of trying to find your personal legend. I have a personal legend also, the cover of the essay depicts a tree with a slug. The tree is in the shape of a brain on the top this represnts the mind. For me i want to pursue a career in psychology, the study of the mind.
I come from a small city where most of the people don’t have big dreams or desires. Where everybody settles down where they are at and don’t even try to strike for the best. Where nobody has hope and think it’s a waste of time if you try to reach for your goals/dreams. But in that small city for me, everybody’s mentality is the same except my uncle, who died June, 2004. His name is Javier and before he died he made a huge impact in me that determined the person who I want to become in life.
In the united states, we’re asked to serve our country and defend it when needed. Then we, as civilians, expect these poor soldiers to come back and be normal as if they didn’t just witness a massacre. Violence is a killer and we’ve lost many hero’s because of it. Navy seal Chris
The personal legend project's intended purpose was to let others learn more about myself. However, I truly thought the actual purpose of the project was for myself to learn more about me.
A personal legend is your spiritual purpose. It is a spiritual calling that awakens a deep desire and passion to live with a sense of purpose for something greater than yourself. In the book it has this really good quote “It is true; life is generous to those who pursue their Personal Legend.” It is saying that if you come through and complete your personal legend life
It was dangerous to travel at night. Any manner of beast, man, or a combination of both could apparte using the cloak of darkness. Still the merchant caravan that Cait was guarding didn’t want to listen. They seemed to be in a hurry and a bit nervous, constantly looking over their metaphorically shoulder- as if they were expecting something to be coming after them. It didn’t help that one of the other caravan guards, the Centurion, assured them that it would be fine.
I Am Legend is such a great movie, in my opinion. Will Smith did such a wonderful job in it, but as you stated it does fall in this week’s topic. I Am Legend does have similarities to Jesus’ story, with him being the only man on Earth that the disease does not affect and his blood being the only thing that can stop the disease that is spreading. When you describe I Am Legend in this manner, I think it would definitely be a good way to start a conversation about the good and the evil in the world.
Have you ever had something you were “super passionate” about be stripped away from you? Roughly one and a half years ago I started my sophomore year of lacrosse. The lineup of students on the lacrosse team this year promised us a spot in the championship. Throughout fall practices, the majority of the sophomore class played amongst the varsity team. As the season ramped up in the spring, we waited for our first game against Saint John Paul’s Christian Academy. First game of the year, we enveloped ourselves into the game and became one as a team. Running downfield with a clear, open shot on the goal “whoosh” I shot the ball bottom right, a bare miss. Suddenly “crash” I was hit from both sides and struggled to stay standing. As I came to my
It's that time of the year again. The birds are chirping, the sun is casting its warm soothing rays on the land, flowers are blooming, and people are flocking to convention centers dressed as their favorite characters celebrating the latest and greatest in the world of all things that is "geek." I just love convention season, the one time of year I can be around others like me and totally have a fangasm and nobody bats an eye. My first taste of the con life way was back in 2005 at the tender age of 12 years old. It would be for another 8 years until I fully became immersed in this lifestyle/culture, when I was blessed by the Geek Gods with tickets to San Diego Comic Con, with a lot of help from my mom Rosann of course. From that moment in 2013,
Where I found my personal legend cannot be found at the time of my childhood. In fact, I didn’t do much of anything in my childhood. Growing up, and even now, I had a vague sense of what I would be doing when I’m older, as if I was looking through a lens that’s stuck on a blurry aperture. Whatever career interests I had were fleeting and unfitting.
“Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives. But, as time passes, a mysterious force begins to convince them that it will be impossible for them to realize their Personal Legend.”
