My personal mission is to help others understand what makes them special, what their strengths are and how they can apply their strengths to succeed. I will share my life’s experiences as encouragement as I continue my journey of spiritual and professional development. I will remember to enjoy life and remind others to do the same. What drives my personal mission? As I young child, I felt special growing up in the folds of my maternal grandparents home. It was a home filled with many family members and a strong sense of family commitment. As I grew older, I became aware of the facts of my situation- that I was born out of wedlock and that my mother was neither responsible nor respected so her family took care of me in her frequent absence …show more content…
However, they divorced before I turned fourteen so life became increasingly more challenging and my mother’s behavior became increasingly more irresponsible. However, I overcame the ensuing mountain of emotional, social and economic challenges. I believe God gave me the ability to overcome these and other challenges in life by giving me certain strengths such as finding creative solutions to problems, organizing the chaotic, encouraging and leading others, easily grasping new concepts as well as having a good sense of humor and a strong sense of responsibility and persistence. I am committed to helping others understand what makes them special and how they can apply their strengths to succeed because this process can be overwhelming and frustrating. When we understand what our strengths are, we can use them to quickly adapt, overcome and enjoy life. I will encourage others using words of observation and words of testimony. I will observe what makes others special and what I perceive their strengths to be. I will initiate a dialogue of encouragement citing my observations and sharing my testimony of how I overcame a tumultuous childhood with God’s
It was my senior year in high school when my mom told me that my cousin, Mayra, had given birth to a baby girl. However, child protective services decided that Mayra wasn’t adequate to take care of the child; due to her drug abuse. Child protective services from Mexico were trying to place the baby with close relatives. Sadly, there was only three choices, her grandma, my aunt Gloria, and myself. The choices were few and the family small.
My father knew that I was born and he never responded as a father, he didn’t take the responsibility he was supposed to take. On the other hand, my mother didn’t beg him to stay with us and she became a single mother. She became a fierce woman; she would work hours to give me always the best. Thanks to my mother I have to admit that food has been always in my mouth and shoes on my feet. My mother became a single mother and she confronted the world with her daughter, she was proud to have me and would stand tall when they would ask her about me.
God called you to be a servant to others. Use your gifts and talents to influence and develop
Identifying and understanding your own personal strengths is key to being a successful leader. Knowing your strengths means you can focus your efforts to maximize results, in yourself and in others. Strengths Finder 2.0 is designed to uncover your strengths and utilize these strengths to your advantage (Rath, 2007). Identifying and applying these strengths to your leadership style, will enhance your effectiveness as a transformational leader.
Tom Rath began working with a group of scientists in 1998 to start a conversation about our strengths (Rath, 2007). A 40-year study, led by Donald O. Clifton, helped to create a language of common talents, and in 2001, included this assessment into their bestselling management book Now, Discover Your Strengths (Rath, 2007). During their study, they found out that “people who do have the opportunity to focus on their strengths every day are six times as likely to be engaged in their jobs and more than three times as likely to report having an excellent quality of life in general” (Rath, 2007, pg. iii). A major problem with this was a majority of people were either unsure of or unable to explain their strengths (Rath, 2007). When developing StrengthFinder 2.0, the ultimate goal was to build upon your true strengths which take practice and hard work (Rath, 2007).
When I was a three week old newborn, Social Services decided that my mother and father were no longer fit to raise my sister and I. My mother was an alcoholic who would soon be in prison, my father was not yet an American citizen, and my parents were in the midst of a divorce. Instead of allowing my sister and I to be split up and sent to separate foster homes, my grandparents brought us into their home for what was intended to be a temporary length of time. This temporary length of
My mission in life is to give back to the community and bloom wherever I am planted. I am very passionate about the welfare of people and helping unconditionally and motivating them to be a better individual. I still remain a mentor and tutor to many youth in my hometown (Detroit,
My mission is to build valuable realtionships that will carry on after my time here at Fullsail. I will acompish my mission by being kind to everyone and help out where I can. Being kind to everyone will build my charachter so people can see me as a good person. Helping people out will make me valuable to people and I can asssist on future projects with them. I will help people out with a class if they are falling behind. This will make people open up to help me, if I am not doing well in a class. I also will apreciate what people are making and be kind to everyone. These relationships are the backbone of my industry and if I am remembered as a kind, hardworking person I have greater chances of being hired.
Unexpectedly, my father called and with an unsteady voice explained, “I had to take your mother to the emergency room, and she is now being admitted to the hospital.” At age 13, this phone call began the most dreadful time of my life. Prior to this event, I was exceedingly dependent on my parents and even struggled with separating from them. In the beginning of my mother’s hospital stay, my familymy parents and two, younger sisters were constantly divided. My father stayed in the hospital with my mother, while my sisters and I would switch between caring family members and friends. Eventually I grew tired of different environments and decided that staying home alone was the far better option. As a result, I appreciate independence and know how to solely maintain a home.
Offering authentic affirmation and encouragement provides a relational foundation from which a mentor can challenge the student to stretch and grow their understanding of God in the future (Elmore, 2009). Affirmation and encouragement can be making eye contact as the student shares their story to repeating something from their story the mentor could connect with personally (Espinoza, 2012, p.
My Mission Statement is to constantly grow in ways that will take me to higher heights, all while keeping God first, family second, and career third. My goal is to forgive without holding a grudge. Vocalize my feelings when I am hurting or sad, in a way that will be productive in resolving the issue. I also would like to not be so guarded. I will allow others to love me in their own way, and not get upset when it is not the same way I love them. I would like to grow in divine wisdom, love, peace, patience and experience daily joy. As I grow in wisdom, I would also like to impart knowledge in younger generations to help them prevent some of the same mistakes that I have made in the past. I will always try to treat others the way I would like to be
My personal mission is to constantly strive to be the best overall person that I can be within my personal and professional life. My goals are to inspire and help others and myself around me to achieve greatness and a balance that will maximize our potential that will transcend the boundaries of our dreams.
I believe that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize our own strengths and weaknesses can help us become better individuals in anything we choose to do, whether it is positive abilities and skills that can help achieve our goals or negative personal areas that need improvement. Knowing yourself and what you can do, can help you recognize and overcome your weaknesses.
When it comes to who I am in my career, a few of my strengths shine through more than others. For example, I put everything I have in to my work and into my career, and looking back at how I’ve worked in the past compared to now, I see my strengths restorative and developer.
We have always been obsessed with finding life, finding resources, and exploration in general. The idea of a human mission to other planets has been around the science-fiction community, popular culture and in the imaginations of people for decades. It has manifested itself in art, cinematography and literature. Concepts have been thought of repeatedly on how this mission would be planned, funded, and executed. We are at a point in history where people are seriously planning the logistics of a human mission to another planet, and it will most likely be Mars. There is also the idea that by making life multi-planetary, it safeguards the existence of humanity in the event that something catastrophic were to happen. Lastly, history has shown that humans always had a drive to explore, experience and conquer new land. Being obsessed with finding life and resources in other planets is an extension of this idea.
