Every year there is an event at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City that brings together some of the best and weirdest people, this is the hunting expo. The hunting expo is a place to share hunting trophies, apply for hunts, show off taxidermy, win guns, tags, equipment, and more. This place has everything hunting and outdoors; people around the nation come and show off their trophies, talk about hunting, and try to get people to go hunt with them. Me and my dad traveled to the wild city of Salt Lake to visit this outdoor convention. Walking to the convention you can't help but notice that trucks and jeeps were the dominant vehicle in the parking garages and parking lots, also noticing people walking out of the Salt Palace had expensive backpacks, scopes, and other hunting equipment in their hands or on their backs. This was the place to get your gear. We arrived at the Salt Palace about 1:40, thinking that it's a afternoon on a Saturday we figured it wouldn't be to packed and the people wouldn't be to drunk, but we were wrong. Thousands of people gathered together for this event with hundreds of booths to visit and check out what they have to offer. People walking around with a cup of Samuel Adams beer or a bottle of hard cider; to some, that was their …show more content…
Watching him as he would show me the faults of a mountain lions body, or how this bird isn't stuffed right was very interesting and I caught onto it fast and started to notice how taxidermists did certain things differently. You could tell that most of the people there didn't care about how the animal was stuffed or how good it was, they just like that it was cheaper and still got the job done. People would disagree with me and my dad as we are pointing out some of the flaws or things they did or didn't do good, the other people don't have the artistic background like my dad

We’re all here to build upon our success! Our conference this year features a program with plenty of information, great topics, and entertaining speakers. Sessions revolve around our history, our bright future, merging historical and “green” building, and the final implementation of the Cabin Fee Act. Speakers will be discussing how drought is affecting our nation’s forests, historic preservation of cabins, getting involved with your cabin community, and how to historically document your cabin for future generations.
Sunday, November 3, 2013 is a day that I remember so vividly. It was the day of my first ever Patriots game. I grew up surrounded by Patriots fans, my mom, my
From the moment I was first clothed in a piece of camouflage, to the moment I received my first Jakes magazine, I was sparked with a sudden interest. From those proud moments to now, it has shaped me into the person I am now. Realizing an importance of the resources around me has made me appreciate them better, as well as making me realize other important factors in life and appreciating them as well. In addition to this importance of hunting in my family, we also grew up learning about what the Bible says about hunting. Proverbs 12:27 says, “The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.” A greater appreciation for wildlife and conserving wildlife to their respective seasons has taught me as well as my family a tremendous amount of respect for the hunting heritage that the Turkey Federation offers throughout the years. Moreover, the well-being of this organization is based on “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” This
As we know, Utah has vast wilderness areas, five national forests, and wide array of wild animals attract both responsible appreciators of nature as well as opportunistic poachers. The weekends is the last day of the rifle deer hunt and one of the busiest days of the year. Unfortunately, over the past six months, coverage on the peak times on Friday nights and weekends has been decreased.
It was a Wednesday night during the summer when something happened to me that I will never forget. My volleyball team was in Hutchinson for a summer league. I was not able to play because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis so I went to support them. I was ecstatic because we had gone undefeated that night. While they were playing, storms were building up just outside of Hutch. When I walked out to my truck, I noticed that the storms had come closer and closer. Also while I was walking, it started to lightly sprinkle. When I left the Salthawk Activity Center, it started to downpour. Little did I know, my night was about to be turned upside down.
The day of our hunt usually run the same course, however some days will end better than others. The night before we prepare the camo, ammunition, and firing arms. Our boots are set up all in a line. Our guns and bags are set behind out waders. Each bag will contain our own shells, snacks, gloves, hand warmers, drinks, extra hat, and other necessities for the hunt. The final item to have ready to go for the morning is our coats.
Lotes en Cleveland Heights. Sucio, basura por todas partes. Pero imagine uno como un jardín. Eso era verdad. (Lots in Cleveland Heights. Dirty, trash everywhere. But imagine one as a garden. That was true.)
In my essay I am going to compare things from the book Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet to events in my life. In the book on page 9 paragraph one it talks about how after Marty’s mother passed away Marty kept busy at college to avoid his dad and the reality of the situation. Marty only came back home for laundry and in asking his father for money which his dad always gave him because he felt awful. In my life I have known a lot of people that deal with death in this same way. They work a lot and keep themselves busy to avoid the life situation that’s really happening. In my opinion, this is not the best way to deal with grief because eventually it’s going to catch up with you.
I’ve always been an outsider, it’s been hard for me to build friendships and relationships. Not too long ago, there I sat in the corner of the room in the way back, trying to hide from the world, and be myself. I didn’t really want to get involved with anything or anyone. I was afraid to open up, talk to others, maybe because I was afraid to get rejected. Until, I met the best people I could ever meet, my best friends Marisa Mendoza, Jessica Contreras and Deseray Reyes, the ones who up to this day have sticked by my side, at my best, and worst moments. They have all been a big part of my life, I can enjoy every minute I spend with them. For me, they aren’t only my friends they are like my sisters.
During dog-ball at PE Braden was hit in the ear with a ball. He was then bumped into by another student. Braden then hit, pushed the student to the ground and kicked him in the side of the head. After the student got up he chased Braden and Braden went outside the gym. Braden will be sent home for the rest of the day and have one day in-house suspension
Over my spring break I was lucky enough to get to go to Florida with my college baseball team and I got to see one if the most beautiful baseball stadiums in the US, JetBlue Park. I got to watch Florida Gulf Coast take on Florida State at JetBlue Park, which is used as a spring training field for the Boston Red Sox. My initial thought of the field is it’s almost exactly like Fenway Park with the same field layout, the big green monster in left field. Which surprised me because this was only a spring training field, very few games will be played or broadcasted here. This ballpark was unexpectedly nice and an experience I will never forget.
