It was a sunny, crisp fall day in Sandpoint, Idaho. My friend Jacqueline and I followed our typical Wednesday routine. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon and that day, like every week, her mom had picked both of us up in her Volvo from our private school in a residential neighborhood. We had always driven about three long roads, meeting two traffic lights and one stop sign, before we had gotten to their house. Jacqueline and her mom lived in a two-story home in a quiet cul de sac on the south side of our hometown. The front of their home had a driveway to the left side or the house, a fenced in front yard, and a backyard that happened to morph into the largest, most lush park in town. The park had about 5 soccer fields, a biking track, a playground, community gardens, and a bike path surrounding the entity of the area. Though some would consider 2:30 the end of the day, work or school wise, this was always the beginning of our adventures. Jacqueline’s mom would always make us a snack once we’d gotten into the house, and then my friend and I would proceed to decide what part of the world we’d conquer …show more content…
She had grabbed her pink Cruiser, and like always, I had ended up riding her little brother’s bike. We made our way out of the garage, into the cul de sac, and ended up taking a left turn onto the narrow road, where only three houses resided. This road was always one of my favorite places in town. Though short, the road had a canopy of willows and a bright blue house on the left hand side. Once we passed the blue house, the bike path dipped down and suddenly, we were in the park. Today, Jacqueline and I decided to go the left side of the park. We passed a line of trees and proceeded the route. This part of the bike trail followed the fence of the blue house, leading to the swale, and then the garden. About every 50 feet, we passed a bench. The first time I saw you, your smile mesmerized me and your laugh practically incapacitate my organism. Your mysterious eyes so profound that no conceivable mean to decipher the schema that your emotion unveil. The thought of you laughing right now can moisten the Mojave Desert; the echo of your voice is a manifestation equivalent to billions of neurotransmitters flushing into my hypothalamus at the speed of light. It enrages all the serotonin within my anatomy that I didn't know has existed. Now you know. And with silence, you have stolen my heart and every endogenous elements in my body. The thought of you has organically saturate the dopamine which will soon speed to my nuclei--everlastingly in my raphe core. The thought of you like testosterone

After the train ride looking around seeing desert and sand. There was nothing, no houses to be seen the land flat and stretching for miles as far as the eye can see. I felt relieved to finally be off of the train and what I saw next took my breath away. My family and I have waited a long time to go excited to see what was waiting for us. The Grand Canyon the national park in Arizona August 2014.
San Luis, Colorado is the oldest town in Colorado. The Rio Culebra winds through the valley, surrounded by majestic mountains. It is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen. My family along with many others have been here for generations. The beauty of the land is only accentuated by the beauty of our tight-knit families and culture. To counteract of all the physical and cultural beauty, there is social and economic strife everywhere around me. I live in the poorest county in Colorado and being impoverished is a challenge my community faces because of a lack of education and job deficit. As I have delved into community and family history, I have better understanding that the fact the that while many things like our support and love for family and culture have remain unchanged and untainted, so has the fact that our community struggles
In the summer of June 2014,I woke up at 4:30 Thursday morning and got ready, packed our suit cases in the trunk of my car. Then I woke up my 4 daughters and they got ready really quick. Funny how for school they drag to get up from their bed and get dressed. But that day they didn't even hesitate to get up because they knew we were on vacation. Me and my girls were really excited to take our first road trip to the beautiful beach of South Padre Island . Of course it is gonna be a long drive but we were excited because we will be sight seeing and singing along to the radio. My family lives about 35 minutes from the beach, in a little town not to far. So when we all got in the car ,I drove to a gas station to fill up my car with gas for our trip and to grab a strong cup of coffee with hazelnut creamers.
Scottsdale is where I grew up. It’s where I dressed up and had tea parties with my little brothers. It’s where Hannah Montana taught me how to sing and where Troy Bolton gave me unrealistic expectations of how boys would act in high school. It’s where my two best friends and I decided that we were all going to go to the same college and then we would move into houses that were right next door to each other. We were going to be best friends until the day we die. It’s where I spent the summers swimming and constantly looking like a lobster. Scottsdale is where I fell in love reading thanks to Harry Potter, Tris Prior, and America Singer. It’s where Deal Night was the only thing on my mind and I could not wait to stay up until 3am playing Wii bowling with my whole family. It’s where I learned how to bake with my mom and my brothers. It’s where the sun shines all the time which lead me to get a third degree sunburn while on a Boy Scout camping trip. It’s where I became claustrophobic because of long division at Catalina Island. It’s where my room was covered from floor to ceiling in One Direction posters and where I danced all night to the best song ever.
Have you ever had an enriching moment that opened your mind to the possibilities in the world? Well I have, when my family and I went to Las Vegas, Nevada. Yes, Vegas is a little odd to have a life-changing experience, but we didn’t follow the normal Vegas path. This involvement taught me to not to act anxious rather to take risks in life, and if I work hard for what I want things will work out.
“Don’t stop, keep going because something great is waiting for us on the other side,” my mother kept reminding me while crossing the desert. Crossing the desert to come to the United States was the hardest thing I had to. This was not optional; it was necessary if we wanted to survive. Crossing the desert is challenging, scary, and tiring
My trip to the Grand Canyon was the best experience I ever had so far in my life. My grandparents from Korea came along with us. Even though I saw them last year it was still an enjoyable moment that I had. Grand Canyon is located in Arizona so what our family did was fly to Las Vegas early in the morning and arrive in Nevada around 9 o’clock am. Driving to Grand Canyon was also five hours with heavy traffic. Driving and stopping every hour was hard to do but at the end it was all worth it. It was good that I had couple electronic devices and my family to keep me in company.
My story began on September 12, 2000, in Phoenix, Arizona. I was born to my mother, a faithful member of the gospel, and my father, an alcoholic. These two traits did not function well together and they ended up getting a divorce in 2001. This would start a new chapter that took my mother, three sisters and I to Elko, Nevada. Nearby was the reservation of my Native American (NA) tribe, the Western Shoshone. My NA heritage came from my father, so when he left my life, he took the culture with him. My grandmother did all she could to include me in the tribe by making me traditional NA items such as moccasins and shawls.
When people would talk about deja vu all i could say was lies. I didn't really think that was true and it was something that couldn't happen. Until it actually happened and i was in total shock. When i used to hear people talk about all I could say that was crazy that it was just your mind. I could exactly remember everything that has happened and until now i am in total shock about it.
I sat on my bed, my Bible sitting in my lap, thinking about going to
During summer break in august I went there with my grandma.some people might get a plane vasue the trip is so long but for us we drove down.It took us 3 to 4 days to finally get to where we needed to be going. It takes along time to get there only cause from driving so long you will need to rest so we went to a hotel every night and then we got something to eat for breakfast and dinner.
When I was in fifth grade I started to play basketball, and I loved it. At that time basketball was the first sport I ever played in, and now that is my most favorite sport ever. I also play lacrosse and soccer. In the summer I like to sometimes do water activities at my cabin and lounge in the sun on the lake, on a paddle board, at the end of the dock, or on the pontoon or speed boat with a friend. My first ever vacation was to Arizona when I was in seventh grade. Me and my family hiked the grand canyon, went to Scottsdale, and did other things that I don’t remember. But that was during valentine's weekend and during basketball season so we bought a basketball and at night I would practice while my aunt and uncle were in the hot tub with my
The boy walked through the aesthetic park full of beautiful green trees, wild flowers, and birds singing songs. As he passed the 6 ft tall water fountain, droplets of water were falling as if they were watering the grass around it. The cars passing by next to the park were sonorous, the street full of gas, tire marks, and trash. Dogs amiably running up to their owners, putting their wet tongue on the owner's face. Children running around playing on the small but fun playground. Small sisters being irksome to their older brothers. Suddenly, I made a stop. The pathways of the park became divergent and I thought to myself, "which path is the correct path; left or right?". I decided to pick the left side and came to a dead end. I then went back
