In the fall of 2015 I reunited with my on-again off-again relationship with running. At the same time I started doing boot camp classes which I had never tried before. I’m not sure if it was an improper box jump or a wrong step down the road, but I began to notice my knee clicking when I walked up the stairs. After waiting (probably a little too long) I decided to go to my doctor because the clicking wasn’t going away. The ultrasound showed fluid on the knee, also known as prepatellar bursitis. She said it shouldn’t take long to heal as long as I rest and ice my knee as well as avoid doing any strenuous weight bearing activities such as “jumping around” or kneeling. I was shocked, too much flexibility, I had never heard of such a thing. He warned me that if I didn’t start to build the muscle around my joint to protect it I may very well develop arthritis.

So I started to build my muscles as he suggested. In the beginning I focused on doing high repetitions with low weight for each exercise. I practiced single leg extensions which forced my weaker leg to get stronger. I also practiced leg curls, squats on the bosu ball, walking lunges, bosu split squats, abductor, and adductor exercises.

On one of my random adventures I decided to stop at a store one of my clients suggested to me called Healthy Planet. I was overwhelmed yet overjoyed the moment I stepped into this store. It has every type of natural herb, vitamin, and powder you could ever wish for. I stood at the entrance and asked my intuition to guide me to what will serve my body the best (intuitive shopping is the best!). I was drawn to a few items in particular. I ended up picking MSM, ashwagandha powder, and evening primrose oil. The prices were comparable to Amazon which I was pleasantly surprised
