Be careful for what you wish for When I was six I really, really wanted a dog. I dreamt of adorable, white, fluffy, female dog that would follow me to school and let me dress her up. So every waking moment I would say to my parents things like, “We need something to protect the house when we are gone, we should get a dog,” or, “We need something that will play outside with us, let’s get a dog,” or, “My friend has a dog so we should get a dog.” Soon enough my parents went to the pet store and bought a dog for our family of five, soon to be six. At the time, my older sister, younger brother and I were at my grandma’s home so we were unaware of the surprise we would receive when we got home. “Meet Ivan,” my mom said when we met our new dog. Ivan was an English mastiff, and as a puppy, was taller than me. He barked really loud and drooled so much. Not the ideal dog for me. However, I did ask for a dog and got one so I was happy none the less. As Ivan grew older I began to really attach to him, and he really adapted to our family. Overall Ivan was a really good dog, but my story does not end here. …show more content…
My parents gave me medications and took me to doctors to see what was wrong, I even went through a CAT scan because they thought I had a brain tumor. Eventually I took an allergy test to see if the cause of my problems was a type of tree or something. Two weeks later we received the results, five being severally allergic and one not at all. I scored a two for grass, a four for cats and a five for dogs. Turns out I was living with the one of the things I am severally allergic to for about 2 years. To this day I am still very allergic to all breeds of dogs even if they are hypoallergenic. Even though normally living with a dog would boost my immunity, my parents happened to pick a mastiff, which sheds, salivates, and scratches, all of which agitates my
In 2008, I spent the summer with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins in Missouri. They picked me up at the airport, and the car ride was filled with discussion about a puppy they had just gotten 2 days prior. It was explained that my cousins wanted a dog since their friends’ family had gotten a dog recently. My Uncle, happy to oblige, stopped at a neighbor’s house one day, who was giving away puppies they could not care for, as is common in small town America. He picked out the cutest one and went on his way. The family was so happy to have “Roxy” in their home and on their farm.
The road is so flat and straight; you can see them coming from a mile away. Six runners flow in arrowhead formation around the Canadian city of Saskatoon. The early November air is still and dry, the sky overcast, and the temperature hovers a bit above freezing, just as predicted.
There’s one dream that all children have in common, getting a dog. I was once one of those children. Fourth grade me, wanted…needed to have a dog. I would do or say anything to make my parents give in to my obsession. Unfortunately, I was the second youngest out of five kids and my parents had grown a strong backbone through experience with the others. But I knew, with the help of my siblings and my adorable ten-year-old charm, I would have a fair chance of winning this battle. I knew this because at the end of the day, every parent wants to see their child happy, even if that means getting a dog.
or starts, It was late at night and my pitbull was barking. So I went to go check the security alarm. But, Something was not right cause the sprinklers turnt of then my power went off tremendously. It was red cheif screaming throwing mudd at my truck and I was mad like a bull on a leash. I quickly snapp my pitbull lose RedChief left running and crying, after my dog chased hime out the yard. On my 13th birthday my friends and I went to a lazer tag place down the road from my house . I was new to the idea of "lazer tag" and honestly i was a little nervous . We walk in the dimmly lit building the smell of nachos and the sound of kids laughing filled the air . We make our way to the low standing black counter . I approach the man behind the counter to buy a ticket .
Later on, Linda and I, happy together went to the garden to climb trees, eat leafy food, and pursue butterflies in playing field close by a colossal waterway. Linda overwhelmed by this awesome scene started to bounce up with energy. I took Linda by the hand and led her to a serene cow. This animal was enduring out there gnawing some grass. Linda followed it yielded on her stifler, she confronted and chuckled and said stunning!! My educator said the cows, sheep, and goats are ruminants, they eat simply grass. At that moment my only wish was to go to class I thought. At one time in a while, I played with little sheep, they are so dazzling, splendid creatures. Causing a gathering of fun we disregarded time. It was getting dreary, I expressed,
When I was just a little boy, so was Tucker. It seemed as if everytime someone said I grew, Tucker grew with me. As he got older, he started getting slower, but was still an amazing dog. When he was older, around 8 years, he began getting sick more often. He didn’t get out and run at the farm as much. We began to worry, especially me, because he was my best friend. I finally talked my parents into taking Tucker to the vet, because they kept saying that he was probably just “sick”,and I told them wrong.
I was around 12 years old when i heard my mother yell my name from the kitchen. Alarmed, i ran to the kitchen and saw her holding my step-father back. I was very confused, it must have been very serious if she called me into one of their argument. While still holding him back trying to keep him away from me, she told me to call the police,”Call 911!”,she said. I ran to the first phone i could find; they were all ripped from the cord. I didn’t know what to do, i couldn’t go back to the kitchen where i was exposed to my step-father. I ran outside to our next door neighbor; knowing they had their huge pitbull unleashed i hesitated to take another step. What was i going to do? Go back to the kitchen and tell my mom i can’t call the police because
On 11/01/17, at approximately 4:33pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control was dispatched to the State Route 315 North and Rich St on a police assist. I arrived on scene at approximately 4:55pm and met with Columbus Division of Police (CPD) Officer T. Eklins #1963. CPD Eklins stated the van (green) was abandon on the side of the freeway. As CPD Officer Eklins approached the van, the side door was open and a medium mix (Black) dog barked at him. I had CPD Officer Eklins complete a police assist form. I utilized my snare pole and placed the dog in my vehicle. The dog was wearing a 2013 Dog license. I located dog owner Roger Hamby (1495 Greenleaf Rd). I requested that FCACC Dispatcher B. Grotsky try to contact dog owner. FCACC Dispatcher B. Grotsky had to leave a voice message for dog owner. I cleared from the location at approximately 5:27pm.
To conclude, he now is attached to me and always sleeps on my bed. He is a champion not only to me but also in dog shows. I started doing dog club in 4-H and we won champion in every class we entered. He is the perfect size just at our knee, but he can be picked up which is the part I love! He listens and we love playing together. My favorite part is when I come home from dance class and I see this perked ear and waging tail waiting at the door to greet me when I come home. I am so glad we adopted him and often wonder why such a sweet dog ended up in a shelter
There are so many kinds of dogs in the world, but why did the shell decide to make me this dog? What if it wasn’t the shell, what if it was the wish I made of becoming a dog, or I was always a dog all along but I didn’t know it? My dad was getting scared and so was I. He stared posting images of me all around town, and he already talked to the police. NO matter what, I had to do something. So, I stared to think maybe I could go around town and try to find one of those papers and show it to my dad maybe he will get a hint that it was me. And that exactly what I did. I found one paper, but I couldn’t reach it off the post it was stapled to. A little girl came by be and noticed I didn’t have a coler on and she asked what I was doing here and
I have always seeked to broaden my mind weather it thought learning new skills or meeting new people. One skill that I have learned over the years is how to care for dogs and other animals. My family started our own dog kennel when I was three years old, my family loves and cares for dogs 24/7. This is why I choose my pseudonym striving dog, to show how I look to better myself all the time and how dogs have had a huge influence in my life.
I sprang out of bed and peeked outside to see how the weather was, I couldn't believe this day was here. My parents said if it wasn't raining, we'd be able to adopt a puppy. It was a sunny day and there was no signs of rain. It was like the sun wanted me to get a new pup. This was the day I have been longing for. I can finally adopt a pet from the animal shelter, but will I be able to take care of it?
My mom asked me for the first time time in a long time”Do you want your very own pet,”since i was eight years old i have wished that i wanted a dog for my first pet, and the time finally came.So i answered back to her and i of course said “YES” i want my very first pet.So i went to go put my shoes on and as i was putting them on i was thinking back when i was six years old that i begged my mom to get me a dog.I put on my shoes and waited in the car for her,I eagerly wanted someone to play with instead of playing with no one.I could imagine how much fun i would have playing fetch with him and having him running after me because i had his toy, those would have been good moments, but now i can finally experience how those moments would feel the opposite way.The day had come.
