As Robert Orben once said “ A vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it”. Taking the vacation to Nevada was a great get away from school. Going back to visit the state I once lived in, brought back many amazing memories. First, being able to see the lights on the Las Vegas strip was mesmerizing. Also, hearing all the different sounds from different street performers was a lot different than the little town of Sebewaing. Lastly, Swimming in the heat of a Las Vegas winter was a lot of fun. Every day and night Las Vegas Boulevard is lit up with millions of brightly shining lights. Walking through the strip at night people will see many different types of lights, ones that flash, twinkle, and even ones that are neon. Some people
Well lets just start by saying that basically I had to do this project twice due to the fact that lost my picture for my first story, but hey on the bright side more practice for me. Well this picture was from about five or six years ago when me and my family went to Lake Tahoe during winter break, I was around 8 or 9 back then and it was pretty much the first time ever seen snow in real life (I seen hail a few years before that, but hail isn't exactly snow xD). Anyways the trip lasted around 3 days long which meant that we really only spend one day and two nights at Lake Tahoe. I still remember the road trip there took us around like 8 hours, mostly because driving up in a snowstorm at high speed isn't the exactly consider safe. To be honest, it wasn't a small family trip, my three cousins,
My trip to the Grand Canyon was the best experience I ever had so far in my life. My grandparents from Korea came along with us. Even though I saw them last year it was still an enjoyable moment that I had. Grand Canyon is located in Arizona so what our family did was fly to Las Vegas early in the morning and arrive in Nevada around 9 o’clock am. Driving to Grand Canyon was also five hours with heavy traffic. Driving and stopping every hour was hard to do but at the end it was all worth it. It was good that I had couple electronic devices and my family to keep me in company.
I lived in an odd place for a time, all through a single summer I languished in the confines of its chipped sidewalks and heat-warped streets. The air was hot, it felt as if one was within the red-lit depths of an oven set to broil, the June sun cooking all that rested below its unforgiving harangue. The sky was vibrantly blue, like a cerulean drape had been pulled over the surface of the earth. Flashing neon lights and vibrant pink flamingos incessantly reminded me that I was in the boundaries of Fabulous Las Vegas, although I did not particularly want to be. There were aggressive and caustic smells that filled the air: Boiling oils from deep frying, spilled alcoholic beverages, and curious stale cigarette aromas, all of which bothered me
This past fall break, I got a chance to take a trip to Arizona to visit Grand Canyon University with a friend, Anthony Ward. I thought it would be an awesome opportunity to open up my options for colleges. What I loved most about the program, Discover GCU, is that they covered all the expenses to Arizona and all I payed for was a plane ticket to Oahu. I was so stoked to go but also nervous because I was the only girl from my school and didn't know anyone. Eventually I made friends with a couple girls from Oahu and we became room mates. I have never been to Arizona, I honestly don't fly up to the mainland very often, I have always been here on the Big Island or on the other islands.
I froze in fear and started sprinting towards the house like a rabbit running from a coyote, I was not prepared for this to happen! It started off a nice day in Lake Tahoe, where my family was on vacation with my brother's baseball team. Besides the insects and spiders that crawled around all over the place, there was nothing really bad about it. What I didn't know, was that those little bugs and spiders were the least of my worries.
“We sometimes give so much that we end up losing ourselves.” These few words amounted to so much more after the week long Las Vegas trip and for that they will never be forgotten. The task of playing seven basketball games and still trying to go scope out the Strip, generated a feeling that had submerged you into a feeling of panicky, with an outcome being an anxiety attack in the lobby of the prestigious Caesars Palace.
One of my favorite vacations is getting to go to Las Vegas, Nevada. At the time we went I was only sixteen years old so I could do the fun things like gambling. I did get to do a lot of really cool things though. We did a lot of sightseeing and walking. We went to a super cool aquarium where everything was so pretty and it really looked like you were under water. Also we went to a giant candy store and really good restaurants. I got the amazing opportunity to go to this awesome show called Ka. They did so many cool tricks and the storyline was great. The show didn't have any talking but it did have music which was cool. The cast of the show were very talented they had a ton of acrobatics and really cool costumes. I did a lot of shopping and
Although my life is filled with many memorable moments, the one that sticks out in my head is my fun filled vacation to Las Vegas. The moment we stepped off the plane, I could feel the energy pouring from all the tourist, who like myself. Plan to have an experience of a life time. Our hotel room was located on the 37th floor of the New York New York hotel. The view from the room was amazing, out of our side window was a view of the infamous New York New York roller coaster. We could even hear the screams of those bold enough to take that ride. While our main view encompassed a large part of the las vegas blvd strip, with MGM being right across the street. It was never a dull moment, each hotel had its share of entertainment line up, from Micheal Jackson look
In my early teens, my parents and I were on a vacation in Mexico. I remember we hiked up a mountain for nearly forty five minutes to reach our destination. I was so intrigued with all the beautiful green, vivid colors and the flowing river that was running actively. It felt like a scene out of a Tarzan movie. During our journey, I noticed many different plants and trees. I came across a coffee tree, a banana tree, and many other fruit trees such as mango trees. I asked myself how lucky local villagers were to have such a luxury. While we were there, I noticed the air smelled different, and the atmosphere was just right: it felt purified and relaxing. As we traveled up the mountain many of the pathways were very narrow and had these enormous
To begin a day like no other, I was already on the road to Las Vegas at 4:00 A.M with my mother. My team and I were heading to one of the biggest invitational competitions on the west coast, Jamz National Championships. Every team wanted to win Nationals and receive a sparkling jacket and a beautiful ring on their finger. While impatient to arrive at Nationals, I felt like the road would never ever end! Therefore, I kept asking my mom, “Are we there yet?” She wouldn’t answer me, so I sat like I had ants in my pants until I saw The Orleans hotel sign. “MOM! We are finally here.” I screamed eagerly to see our hotel room. When we parked and got our belongings, we headed to the front desk to check in. “Hi! How can I help you?” The guy with a
After dating for two years, my boyfriend Steven and I finally got to go on our first vacation together. The two people that made it all possible are Steven’s Aunt and Uncle, Erin and Bobby. They were generous enough to finance our trip to Las Vegas, although they didn’t know me beforehand. They took us to many adventures and were very accepting of me. Erin and Bobby made an incredible impact on me with their loving spirit and generosity.
Every year the cross-country team has a trip up to Colorado for team building and altitude training. I have gone on these trips with my team every year and the time I spent with my team in Colorado makes up a large portion of my best memories of high school. The trip is mean to be an amalgam of challenges and fun experiences, and I feel like I can fully enjoy the entertaining parts of the trip because I know that I have also worked hard the remainder of the time. Driving in a van for hours to get to Colorado can get boring, but we usually find some way to make it fun with music and games that the team brings along. Colorado is too far to make it in one day, so after the first day of driving we stop in a valley in New Mexico for the night. That
On my sixteenth birthday, I got a trip to Las Vegas and Arizona for my birthday present. We were going to Vegas for one night, and to my Grandma’s and Grandpa’s condo in Arizona for another 8 days, so I got to miss quite a bit of school, two full weeks. On February 28, we left for Detroit. We stayed at a hotel and woke up at about 3:30 a.m, and boarded the plane at about 6 a.m. It was just my brother, my mom, and I. It was a 4 hour flight, so I dozed off right away. I remember waking up with the airplane turned totally sideways, so I started freaking out. It was nothing though, just turbulence. A few hours later, the flight attendant announced that we were right above the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon a bit later, it was super cool. We finally
My favorite vacation, so far, is one I went on in September 2015 with my friends Alissa and Jaidah. We all share fandom interests. On the weekend of September 19, my brother went away to spend his birthday with my dad. My mom shook me awake and informed me I could bring two friends along to a room in the Dells that we would be occupying. Almost immediately I thought of the duo. I ran downstairs and texted both of them while packing a bag. They texted back not too long after, and I told them my mom and I would pick them up anywhere from 10-11 that Saturday morning. We picked up Alissa and she tried to direct us to Jaidah’s house, but she wasn’t thorough with her
“Whoosh!’ the plane went as we grounded. We had reached California. It was November of 2011. I was with my family, my magnificent mom Paula, incredible dad Ray, and headstrong sister McKenzie going to my Uncle Tony and Aunt Rachel’s wedding and to go to Disneyland. Just because family is not near does not mean you should not make time to visit them.
