A woman tells about her family and friends' daring escape from Cuba. Their desire to escape was out of growing discontent over the worsening political and economic situation in Cuba. Her husband, a pilot, was an important part in their escape. Could he save his family from Castro’s island prison? In Cerro Street of Cuba twenty-two adults and nine children boarded a bus. They were heading for Varadero, a beach resort, one hundred miles east. Nina kept replaying the plan in her head. If they are lucky enough to go through with the plan without being caught they would accomplished the greatest mass escape by air in the tortured history of flight from Cuba.
