Advancing my education from BYU-Idaho has been one of the greatest changes that I have ever made. I met precious friends and professors, acquired many enlightening teachings, and strengthened my testimony to become humble. In addition, I learned how to respect others and manage my time effectively. From this experience at BYU-Idaho, I look forward to having another challenge for a new advanced life at BYU-Provo. The main reason that I would like to transfer to BYU is the excellency of business programs and its faculty members. I desire to major in accounting, and I plan to advance my education further to study MAcc at Marriott School, which will help me have professional knowledge regarding the business industry. BYU has achieved the
I want to transfer to BYU Provo because I want to go to graduate school and I believe BYU Provo would help me to obtain that goal. I want to major in public health with an emphasis in epidemiology. I want to learn about diseases and how and why they spread and how to protect people. This career path could take me to medical school helping me to obtain a job in the private sector, or perhaps take me to work for the government in the public sector to help create laws or educate communities about diseases. In both instances I would need to go to graduate school and BYU Provo can help me do
My personal faith grows daily by my choice to follow my love and savior, Jesus, every day I wake up. It was by no accident that God showed me Liberty University, and has now become a top option in my choices of colleges. I believe in the deep mission Liberty University has to develop Christ-centered believers because it is the same mission I strive to live out daily in my walk as a follower of Christ. My season of life will not always be the same as someone else's, but I pray that what I have walked through and what God taught me in those seasons can give perspective to others. I have grown up always knowing God but not until my sophomore year in high school did I truly start to live that out. I took two opportunities in the past two years
A path that led to this school, and the amazing experiences and opportunities I had and will continue to have throughout my last year here. Here is the place I’ve learn to lead in a classroom, develop my academic skills, and succeed in continuing my mission of helping others. I’ve grown into a woman with her own ideals and own convictions, which I just now realized has always been my goal in life. What I major in, what job I have, and who I marry will not confine my person to live a life where having one experience is
During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. When i received a brochure
There are several things I hope to gain from my experience as a student at California Baptist University. Such things include, a community of God loving, supporting and encoring friends, a Christian based education and opportunities to grow into the person God created me to be.
Before coming to James Madison University I had no clue what I wanted to get involved in. Whether it was a club sport, business related group, or a social fraternity I just wanted to be apart of something that was bigger than myself. At the beginning of the school year I looked into tryouts for club baseball, the Madison Investment Fund and rush schedules for fraternities on campus. I quickly found out that club baseball wasn’t for me, at least for my freshman year. I then asked around about MIF and got the sense that you needed a very heavy Economics background and that it was very challenging to be accepted as a freshman. MIF is something I hope to get involved in next fall. In the back of my head I always knew that a social fraternity was what
HELLO GUYS!!! I have something veryyyyyyyy important to tell you! After all of my stressing about FAFSA ( Free Application Federal Student Aid) , Colleges, and Transportation, I decided to further my education at Rowan University. It took me a long time to make this decision because this wasn’t my first choice! My first choice/ dream school was LIU Brooklyn ( Long Island University) in Brooklyn, New York. I was recently accepted there and planned on attending there, but their out-of-state tuition was extremely high! Their tuition was $33,000 a year and poor black man like myself, cannot afford it. I really loved LIU because it's a great school, beautiful campus, and most of all, it's in New York. I had my whole planned before it even started,
I started my college education at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, then to GCU. My passion to help others was evident in the classroom resulting in my professors recommending that I became a tutor at the college’s learning center. I worked there for three semesters tutoring math and science. In addition, I volunteered at Chandler Regional Medical Center where I accumulated over 300 service hours working in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU). After earning my bachelor’s degree, I was offer a position to work in the CV-ICU at Banner-University Medical Center. I am also an RN supervisor at Southwest Behavioral
Beginning my elementary school career, I attended Indianapolis Public Schools. When I entered school, Kindergarten was only half days, and we were working on materials such as, learning our alphabet and counting to 100. The workload was a far cry from the addition, subtraction, early reading skills, and science that my daughter is learning in kindergarten this year. Following the first grade I left the Indianapolis Public School System and entered into a new school system. Embarking on second grade we started working on the skills that would help us read proficiently. I was absolutely struggling, but I was also so distrustful that I didn’t dare to say anything to my teacher. Thankfully, even without me saying anything to her, my teacher noticed
Simpson Anne. Session1. JournalI feel like my experiences in life have shaped me into the person I am today. I feel that life has it ups and downs. I love God and know he is always there for us. A favorite scripture verse is John 17:16.”They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.”My dad was a minister. I am thankful that I grew up in a strong Christian home. I chose Colorado Christian University because I wanted an academic community that loves God. I feel in my short time so far at CCU that I have grown as a Christian. For example, I have more boldness to witness to people about Christ. What were some assumptions I had about CCU before I started my classes? I assumed that I would not have support from my fellow teachers and classmates.
My River Valley education has meant so much more. At River Valley I have learned how to share and respect others. As I grew up at River Valley I learned how to manage my time, communicate with others and develop friendships that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Then as I became a freshman I learned to become independent, to take responsibility for my actions, and to work hard for what I want. As sophomore year came I learned learned to try new things and persevere through hard times. Junior year came quickly along with the many lessons of life. I learned to ask for help when you need it and there's no shame in that. Then came senior year and in the blink of an eye I am already in the fourth quarter and I am preparing myself for college. I have learned to plan for the future, taking it into my own hands and making my own decisions. Throughout my thirteen years as a River Valley student I’ve learned the importance of giving to others through our NHS chapter, FFA chapter and various others opportunities and organization. River Valley has taught me to be an adult, River Valley has shaped me into the person I am today and River Valley will always be a part of
There is not a singular event that has brought me to Colorado Christian University, rather an unexplainable journey that has placed this institution in my path. Since the day I was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Savannah Missouri at the age of 13 I have been avoiding a path that hind sight has shown me very clearly. From the beginning I have usually taken another route than the one I was intended. When I could have been more involved with my faith I typically did not fully engage. I entered college in 1990 with no real direction in mind. I was not invested and I did not succeed, but I also did not follow the still small voice that was calling me to service the lord. I left school after accomplishing very little and joined the military
I find myself reading this short paragraph over and over(above). My topic sentence makes me happy and proud. Going back to school was the best thing I have done. I chose to talk about going back to school to the “future employer” because it shows I am motivated as well as dedicated. This class has brought a lot to my attention. The mannerism that is expected in the “business world” is to speak and write well. It is extremely important to know how to write (type) a meaning full and proper paper whether it is for school or work. I have noticed a great impact in my vocabulary and writing skills. My boss told me on Monday he is impressed with the new docs I typed up for our new clients (with no help from him). I was not excited about this class
During my time at LDS Business College, I studied various courses from Accounting and to Religion. Throughout the different courses that I took, I found out a lot about myself and my identity. I always dreamed to be a Network Developer, managing databases and program networks was what I thought would be the ideal career for me. But at LDS Business College, I met a lot of different people; people with different culture, background, interest, motives, opinions, and who chose different career paths. Even though we were different in a lot of ways, we were all heading towards the same direction and it was towards success. I would like to attend Brigham Young University because I truly believe that BYU has the education that I need. I am not saying
I had never had to cling to God as hard as I did this year, despite my Christian upbringing, and that I have been pursuing Him my whole life. In the throes of my deepest and most personal challenges, every prayer that was said was gut wrenching, tear filled, and heartfelt. I was in misery. You know what though? It was beautiful. God was clinging so hard back. He always is, but to be brought to a place where you can feel His embrace so tightly and so clearly is to feel true beauty and joy amid life’s inevitable pain. It is a holy honor. To be completely and totally honest with you, my experience with Campbellsville University was pretty much a girly Christian college cliché. I met the man of my dreams, and I had my “ring by spring.” We are now
