My parents, sister, and I walked into Olive Garden to meet up with my aunt Jo, for our late birthday dinner. We were late getting to the restaurant because my sister Hanna lost her phone after her dance competition. By the time we parked the car and walked the short distance into the restaurant, Jo had put her name on the list because it was really busy. I took a seat on the tan leather couch next to my aunt, all the waiters were dressed in black with green nametags. The food smelled really good throughout the restaurant, and made me even more hungry than I already was. A few minutes later a hostess came to get us and took us to a booth, with a parking lot view, with a chair at the end. Mom and Jo sat on one side, Hanna and I sat on the other side, and dad sat in the chair. There was a family with a few young children sitting behind us. We were by the bar, so I could see different wines, whiskeys, and vodkas. There were two TVs in there. One above the bar, and the other was hanging on the wall I was facing. …show more content…
Then, Dean asked what we wanted for drinks: three waters, raspberry tea, and a mixed berry sparkling water. Once he brought those we order our food dad and Jo got salads. Mom, Hanna, and I got soups. I ordered a fettuccine alfredo, Hanna got a make your own meal, dad ordered a tour of Italy, mom got salmon, and Jo got chicken and mini lasagna noodles. As Dean was reading our order back to us he would say that’s a boring or no one has ever been able to finish that. It was actually really funny. Then

My parents are very different from each other. We all have different views on thing and school. I myself have only left the state once that was when I was like 2 months old my mom took me to Alabama to see my aunt and uncle and cousin. I love to fish and Longboard. I don't play too many video games. Also I absolutely can't wait unit I don't have to go to school any more. I will end up going to college one way or another because I would like a degree in engineering or something in that nature. I was almost put up for adoption when I went to Alabama. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I only know one of my sisters. My mom lost custody of when I was little. I never met her. She is only like 2 years younger than me. I also play baseball. I have never went hunting or for that matter I have never shot a gun. I own 2 bows 1 for target practice and the other one is for hunting when i get older.
I am forty four years old with three children and a wonderful husband. I grew up in Oklahoma and later moved to Kansas, and then Arizona where I finished my degree is Political Science at Arizona State University. My career goals were to attend law school after undergrad, so that I could be an advocate for children that were suffering serious injustices back then, and sadly they still seem to be suffering those injustices today.
When I made the decision to go to school to obtain my LPN, I was twenty-four years old. I was married with a 3 year old child and worked full time as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Hospice. My husband worked in the union but due to plants closing down in our area, he was laid off, and I was the main financial support for my family. I knew things were not going to be easy but I was determined to be successful, not only for me but for my family. I began the process of enrolling in November 2009 and was all set to begin school in April of 2010. I was beyond excited for this journey to begin. I had a wonderful support system, not only at home but with my co-workers as well and I knew nothing was standing in my way. Fast forward to December
When I was in fifth grade, I was caught between two worlds, playing the a woodwind or strings instrument. After much thought on which one, I decided that the violin was the best instrument for me, because it had a beautiful, unique sound, plus the possibilities are incredible. I could receive a compliment from a teacher, or even get accepted to the symphony. In elementary, I was known as the best player for my patience and understanding of every piece we played. “Your daughter is my best student in all 4 schools that I teach,” exclaimed my orchestra teacher, Ms. Nichols, to my mother. Ever since then, I have been practicing my violin every minute of every day. At the end of my sixth grade year, I received a letter stating that I have been invited
Glancing at the keys and nodding, he set the metronome and tapped his foot getting the beat physically and let his fingers glide over the keys. Letting the music seep into him as he had played the complex piece over and over again demanding himself to be perfect. Striking each key was perfectly timed and showed the emotion he had made it sound sharp and crisp. Steve kept nodding as he then glanced downward he saw the ivory keys along with his fingers coated in a rich scarlet hue. His fingers bleeding. The pain shot through his fingers as the heat engulfed the slender fingers . It was the fire again! Attempting to put the fire out that now chewed at not only his fingers but the piano as well it only ended with the man sitting up in a blind
Did you know that the idea of New Year’s Resolutions came from the ancient Babylonians, around 4000 years ago. They actually celebrated it around May, when crops were planted, they made offerings to the gods, promising to pay off debts and things such as. This was also a way to show loyalty to the king and the gods. Today this tradition, although changed, still continues. With over 78 percent of Americans celebrating it, a lot of resolutions are made. Some of my own include training Spanky, fixing my truck, and getting my driver's license.
Throughout one’s lifetime, it is almost guaranteed that he or she has heard the saying “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” This saying is pretty self-explanatory, and it is extremely helpful in multiple scenarios, especially in times of struggle. From a young age, I have always been a cheerleader. Recently, circumstances have changed causing me to question my abilities. I have numerous personal experiences throughout my life that illustrate this saying; however, this one is the most recent.
In contrary to the “traditional” narrative, my aspirations of being a future healthcare provider did not start during childhood. I remember at the tender age of seven and bearing witness to the severe pain that radiated throughout my father’s body due to the movement of kidney stones. That experience, now looking back, instilled a sense of fear in me that lead to the avoidance of any career exploration or opportunity related to healthcare. It was not until college after better comprehending the healthcare system and learning about its inner workings that I began to develop my passion around social change and creating more equitable outcomes in terms of effective patient care and practices. Although, I am unsure as to what role and or, the function
I have talked about goals before, but today I want to talk about a very special goal of mine. To begin with, driving scares me! Especially my mom's vehicle, which is like driving a mechanical monster; or a behemoth as I call it! For a long time I have had friends and family on my back to get my license. I have had other options; people willing to give me rides, bus. I become quite inventive in finding ways to side step my fear. That was until my mother started having medical problems, and I wasn't able to help her as much as I wanted. (I also began to realize that as much as I wanted my parents to be around forever to look out for me, reality has a different plan.) So I decided it was time to face one of my demons!
When I was in ninth grade I took a trip to the doctor with my mom. About to tryout for the high school volleyball team, I needed my yearly sport physical. As a kid who always would ride my bike and hang out outside, I thought I was a healthy kid. Growing up I knew I was overweight but I never thought it was bad as the doctor made it out to be. As doctors do, she showed me where I lined up to the average of my age and height group. I already knew what she was gonna say, I already knew I was “fat”; and of course the doctor told me my weight was too high for my height and I was putting myself at risks. Like most kids I didn’t want to pay attention to what she was saying, I was a teenager who just wanted to get out of there with the paper that

Growing up, I had always been surrounded by adults, I knew I could rely on. The thought of being an adult, seemed very distant to me, at least that was until I entered teenagehood. At the age of 12, I went under the custody of my aunt because my mother had to move to another state, due to health reasons. Not having my mom definitely made me more self dependent. However, I still had my aunt and uncle as parent figures, who I could depend on, so I truly did not feel the need to grow up just yet.
My early experience with technology was playing games on my parent’s cell phones and watching television as a child. My mom use to sit me on the couch as a baby and turn on blue’s clues and give me a big bowl of Cheetos puffs and she said I would not move, she said I would be glued to the television and it was like I was amazed by the pictures running across the screen.
It was a dark spring night on campus. I was waiting for hours or though it seemed. It is not everyday that your roommates set you up with the best athlete on campus. It shocked me that my roommate could convince him that I was worth the best quarterback in the country’s time.
