Option #1- Are You A Socs Or Greaser I am a greaser because I have always hated the rich schools and the way they do things. I hated them because i didn't get treated like an equal because i was poor back then and i always got bullied and when i would defend myself, because the bully hit me or something i would always be the one in trouble. Also when my mom and dad came to my school for a parent teacher conference my dad would always get really mad because they wouldn't treat are options fair and the rich kids were always right. I could do nothing about that so i told my mom i wanted to move so we moved to okay, oklahoma i liked that place much better it was a small town that was probably not on the map. It was a poor town with a gas station,
Socs are expected to be rich and to have things like “... money, cars and futures.” says Ponyboy. They’re expected to have big houses, wear nice clothes, talk nice, they were basically expected to be perfect, but at the same time heartless and mean. Greasers were expected to be tough, mean, and poor. They were expected to be the exact opposite of the Socs, they didn’t even live on the West Side, where Socs lived. They were accused of stealing and some Greasers get treated differently
The Greasers felt like outsiders around the Socs because the Socs were the upper class. Socs were always in advanced classes so when Ponyboy (a greaser) was in biology class filled with Socs , he felt like an outsider. When Ponyboy had to dissect a warm and the razor wouldn’t cut, he took out a switchblade. The girl beside him was a Socs and she sad “They are right, you are a hood” (Doc B). So, when Ponyboy was in an advanced class filled with Socs and when
There are greasers and socs. The socs hate the greasers. But here's my question why do the socs the hate the greasers so much. The novel The Outsiders by S.E Hinton there was a family but they were brothers and they were greasers. And there is a group of rich kids called the socs. And then will change everything. S.E Hinton theme “things are rough all over” is evident in the struggles greasers and socs face. However, the greasers faced more struggles than the socs because the socs are more richer than the greasers. Everybody hates the greasers and even though socs get into trouble a lot of trouble, they get all the breaks.
My first reason that the greasers have it worse off is because they hardly have any family too where there friends are their family. The reason that i chose
The most important reason is the greasers live in poverty, while the Socs are rich. Pony says “were poorer than the Socs and the middle class.”(Hinton 13). The quote shows they are the poorest class. One of the things about being poor is most of the people have to work in your family. There are many struggles that come
Also they do not relate to each other as individuals so they just don’t know the Greasers but they always knew to not like them. The Socs hate the greasers so much because they feel they are better than them and feel the need to be mean. Also just because you're rich doesn’t mean that you’re life is amazing. Maybe the Socs want lives like the greasers because they are more free and they feel the need to jump them to show who has power and that the greasers are powerless.
The Greasers think that all the Soc’s have it easy because they have money and their privledged. The Soc’s think Greasers are poweless because they don’t have a lot of money, So the Soc’s feel entitled. The greasers risk their lives to help others and eachother. Such as when Ponyboy and Johnny went into the church that was up in flames to save 8 children from the fire. For example “We dropped the last of the kids out
People automatically think the greasers are bad just because they're not rich and have a hard life. The rich think they're better then the poor because they have more money, so they treat them like trash. Greasers can't walk alone too much or they'll get jumped, or someone will come by and scream "Greaser!" at them... We get jumped by the Socs.
The Greasers have the roughest life because their families are broken, they are poor, and society thinks they are bad. The Greasers have broken families. Dally’s parents don’t care about him, Johnny’s parents beat him, and Ponyboy’s parents died in a car crash.
I’m a soc because….. i’m not poor. The difference between a soc and a greaser is that greasers are poor and have to work to get money and they sometimes admire different cars. Socs are mean guys that live the good life and don’t have to work to get paid. Socs get the best things like the best cars and the best clothes. Greasers get the bad end of the stick. Mostly because greasers get jumped by the socs and the socs dont really care how the greasers feel. Sometimes socs almost kill greasers.
The Greasers think that they are tougher and that they are more strong-minded. But the Socs. think that they are smarter and that they are richer than Greasers and so for
On the night of September 14, 1988, I was lost in reverie up until I heard disturbing yells and chants outside of my house. I deemed it was the local rival gangs, the Socs, and the Greasers, as they always engage in a strife over malicious confrontations. Hearing the vicious sounds, I rushed towards a window and slowly peeked under the curtains to get a clear view of the incident. Then, I scanned the streets, and there they were, the two petty gangs that cause disturbance in my neighborhood. Suddenly, a gang member pulled out a blade and stabbed one of the Socs in his chest. The force of the stabbing caused the teenager to topple, and he fell face-first to the ground. A wild ovation was given to the stabber from his fellow Greasers, and as
The Greasers are "poorer than the Socs and the middle class... almost like hoods; we steal things and rive old souped-up cars and hold up gas stations and have a gang fight once in a while. " In contrast, the Socs are "the jet set, the West-side rich kids," who "jump greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks, and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and an asset to society the next. "In Chapter 3, a conversation between Ponyboy and Cherry shows the difference between the two groups that goes beyond money. Cherry says, "You greasers have a different set of values. You're more emotional.
Being a CNA is hard and taxing on people mentally and physically. It a tiresome job that turns most people off from the start. But, I do think joy can be found in this job. Most will say that being a CNA is like being a glorified butt wiper which I mean yes we do wipe butts but there is a lot more to the job then that. There is relationships that are built with the residents and patients that is unique to a CNA. My job is hard and sometimes I just want to throw in the towel. But then there's that moment that changes it all and makes you love the job even though it very hard. Being a CNA is all about the passion, relationships with people and hard work.
How many different “hats” do we each wear on a daily bases. From our careers, to our family and friends we all have different identities that we claim and live out day to day. These identities help us define who we are. “When we identify ourselves, we draw on a host of different characteristics associated with various social groups to which we belong” (King 2012, pg. 429). My ornament is explaining the social identity through a snow-women and her many hats.
