“When I was a little kid I had a good friend who lived down the road from me. Her name was Aria Robin Hunter. I always thought it was cool she had two first names but she thought it was bothersome since she had to explain it to everyone. Aria Robin was always a very creative girl, even for a kid, she seemed to have all these never ending ideas. She was perfectly fine with being left to her thoughts even when it was because all the other kids thought she was weird. She never minded them when they saw her creations as strange alien things. All she said to the boy who told her an animal she drew was strange looking was that he simply hadn’t seen one before. I was about to say we should go back to her house when a light began to glow in a nearby tree. Within a few minutes more lights appeared and the woods around us were lit in every color imaginable. The colors mixed with the setting sun and it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. When the sun was completely gone the lights slowly disappeared with the colors in the sky until the moon was the only light left. When I asked Aria what the lights were she said they were pixies. I gently told her pixies weren’t real and I thought she’d be upset but instead she reacted like she did in art class when we were younger, except this time it couldn’t be because of her age, as she was perfectly capable of knowing what was real and what wasn’t. She looked straight into my eyes and said, “I know they don’t exist in this world but they do in others.” “That was the night I thought she’d gone completely crazy though I didn’t tell her that until much later.
