Doing the right thing is the thing that matters the most. It was November twelfth in twenty
On January 3, 2009 around 11:00 PM the phone rang with what I thought was exciting news about my newly born sister, Tristyn ,but quickly turned to horror. I could heard the fright in my dad's shaken voice as he told me Tristyn had to go into immediate heart surgery because she needed a stent to open up the blood flow to her heart. Being eight at the time the only thing I could think about was how she might not make it. My dad said to me “look after your sisters, and tell them nothing about the surgery”, which terrified me more than before. I knew I needed to be brave and take charge of the situations for my sisters. Bravery is something I learned for a situation I never knew would happen.
I am in need of a scholarship to attend the NYLF National Security program over the summer due to some financial and emotional problems. To begin, there are ten people who reside in my household. Despite the large amount of people, the space is very limited. For example, there are only three bedrooms and two bathrooms. We are financially struggling because my mother only works part time and my father doesn't work at all due to his mental health. My family is full of very expressive people. In other words, they like to fight a lot (even about small things). Over the years I've learned to stay quiet because of how I realized I could never win in these pointless arguments. I would consider my family to be broken because of how my grandfather
The Canadian Armed Forces has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember. My military connections have deep roots that begin with my great-great uncles William, Timothy, and John and continue today with my father, Darren, who has been a member of the Royal Canadian Navy for 35 years.
Border Patrol has been something I have been interested in doing since I was a freshman in highschool when I started in the law enforcement classes. What made me interested in Border Patrol was seeing how active you have to be, law enforcement has been something I have been interested in doing since I was small I have always changed the careers in what I have wanted to do as in being a police officer, lawyer, detective but mostly a border patrol agents. When considering a career in border patrol a person must carefully look into the responsibilities this will entall, the skills one must have to succeed plus other important aspects such as working conditions, salary and the future of the job, however just as important is to carefully seek out
It was record breaking temperatures on this July 4th day. Red, white, and blue filling up the stands. Fans and umbrellas protecting spectators from the heat of the sun. It was about game time and I was getting ready to take the field for the last home game. Butterflies in my stomach, but I had to tell myself “it’s just another game”. Even though in my heart I knew it was not just another game.
The reporting party (RP) stated she met with resident Brittany Armstrong DOB: 10/27/95. The resident questioned the RP regarding receiving unopened mail at he prior foster mother. The RP confirmed with Brittany she had the write to her mail. Brittany went on to disclose she purchased an "IPHONE" and on 3/11/16 arrived at the foster home to retrieve her belongings. According to the RP upon arriving at the foster home she discovered that her "IPHONE" was not there. Subsequently the resident asked her foster mother about the phone which prompted the foster mother to become angry and become aggressive pushing the resident against the closet numerous times resulting in a dent to the wall and a bruise to her back. Later the foster mother's son Ricky Barnes arrives in the room and also pushed her.
During all of my work assignments, I have been able to develop positive interaction with those I work with and the community members I
One day at my job as a US Air Force test pilot in the year 2023, on Area 51, I stumbled upon a lower level of the underground bunkers used to store top secret materials and projects I discovered a cylinder of high strength glass. The room was well lit, but it seemed empty and abandoned. As I approached the strange object, it became apparent that there was a door that opened and swung to the left, with a high strength steel latch on it. Once I was close enough, I realized that this machine may have been a prototype of the much sought after time travel machine that was depicted in so many movies and TV shows. The sparkling glass, the gleaming aluminum base and cap, suddenly seemed very appealing, interesting, and enticing to me. I stepped inside.
My interpreter stalled, leaning back and exhaling deeply before repeating his translation; "He says he would kill you if he saw you in the street." The man across from me was a recruit in the Afghan National Army from the remote Nangarhar Province in Eastern Afghanistan, slated to work alongside U.S. soldiers. His expression was as stony as the hills outside, but there was a smug excitement in his eyes, busily darting between the interpreter and me. Since the screening began, I had been searching for dishonesty, nervousness or hatred in those eyes; now, I had the feeling he was looking for fear in mine.
When I was little some of my closest family members were educators, so naturally I wanted to become a teacher when I grew up. Although, as I grew older I changed my mind about what I wanted as my profession a lot. I went from wanting to become a teacher to wanting to pursuing a career in the fashion industry as a fashion designer, and then I wanted to become a FBI Agent. I probably changed my mind a million times, before I realized that I wanted to become a teacher. I arrived at this decision in high school, more specifically during the first semester of eleventh grade.

The game felt like a million hours left in the last quarter of the game for b-team. We waited on the sidelines for b-team’s game to explode as, we watched. The a-team started to drink water and stretch a little for the game.
Four or Five years ago if you were to tell me that I would be confidently applying to the University of Miami I would have laughed. Through high school I did not give much effort and like most of my peers, thought that furthering my education was my only option. Nearing the end of my senior year I started realizing that no noteworthy university would even consider accepting someone like me. As the days ticked away, I applied to a nearby college with an incredibly high acceptance rate and found myself opening an acceptance letter a few weeks later.
Not all Americans contribute equally to our society. Some fail to participate, by waiving their right to vote or even evading taxes. Of those who do participate, most do not take an active position by running for office, going to meetings and debates, protesting, or even simply writing letters to the officials who represent them. I was one of these people. I didn't think that my involvement would matter, that one person among over 300 million in the United States could make even the slightest difference. The Tennessee American Legion Boys State showed me that I was wrong. I learned, through positive and negative experiences alike, to value myself appropriately, to be completely selfless, and to value community.
