During the four years that attended high school, I have had the opportunity of being a member of many clubs. Being apart of Family Career Community Leaders of America was to me the greatest achievement of all four years attending high school. Although I only been a member for two out of the four years, it feels as though it has been forever. I had the privilege of being an officer for both of the two years. The first year I had the honor of being the FCCLA Treasurer, and my second year the President of Public Relations. My first year of membership, I won the gold medal in the North Carolina FCCLA State Competition. I won this medal by creating a Stop the Violence campaign by getting students in my school to spread bullying awareness for a
FBLA membership has benefitted me because I can truly say it led me to my career choice. Junior year I had the opportunity to participate in the SBE Program at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center. By being a part of this program, I was required to join FBLA. Although FBLA was an organization I had wanted to join for a while, I needed a push to get involved in the club. Being involved in this club was one of the greatest decisions I have made during my high school career. My first year in the organization, I competed in the straight to state event, Social Media Campaign. Due to this participation, I attended the District Leadership Conference where I was a timekeeper and the State Leadership Conference, where my partner and I presented our project. The State Leadership Conference was a memorable event as it was different than any other conference I had attended before. That year I also served on multiple committees and assisted in the decorating of the Senior Citizen’s Christmas Dinner.
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs and organizations to help me become a leader in my community. At Auburn High School I took on the role of being a Publicist officer for National Technical Honors Society the first two consecutive years that it became a part of our school. I gained a lot of leadership experience through this club. Implementing a new organization is never easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the leaders of the club. By being a part of a very helpful, dedicated and motivated team, we helped affiliate all the eligible members into the club and in turn helped introduce this new club to the school. As publicist my role in helping the club grow was crucial; I helped in publicizing the clubs various projects and involvement.
During my high school career, I have participated in a large majority of the clubs available to me, and held officer positions in most of them as well. In both the National Honor Society and Medical Connections Clubs I am a member of two and four years respectively, and was elected treasurer of both for the 2017-2018 school year. National Honor Society has also given me many community service opportunities, including helping with the Night to Shine organization and a volunteering at a local nursing home.
Throughout my school years, I have always tried to be a positive role model for younger students as well as my peers. This year I decided that the best way to serve my school was to participate in our school’s Student Leadership Council. It has proven to be a fantastic decision for me. I succeeded in getting the most votes out of all of the candidates and have had a great experience taking a leadership role in my school. I feel like I have become a much better leader and role model because of Student Leadership Council. I have been really fortunate to be exposed to the Jeter’s Leaders program, since they come to our school to mentor us as SLC members. It has been an incredible experience, and I would really love to continue with it. As an eighth grader at Saint Augustine, we are required to mentor our younger students. I
Over the past two years (2014-2016) I have participated in the National Junior Honors Society. As a member, I commit to completing community service and to learning among my peers in order to develop into a superior leader. I have taken part in activities such as fundraisers, team building activities, and several forms of community services such as working in a soup kitchen, daycares and organizing social events. Recently, I volunteered for a week as a vendor at a temple in Tacoma, raising money for the establishment during the Cambodian New Year festival.
Sophomore year, I joined my High School's division of Kiwanis Key Club. The club prided itself with their devotion to community service. I thought that the club would be a great vehicle for me to assist my community while creating and expanding my relationships. However, I was greatly disappointed in the club my Sophomore year. There appeared to be little leadership present, so hardly any community service successfully took place. I made it my goal to gain a leadership position and turn the club around. Junior year, I was elected as President of the club and was re-elected to the position my Senior year.
Throughout the past four years of high school, I have done my best to try and stay actively involved in the community. I have been presented with some amazing volunteer opportunities such as Huron Safety Town, STAR Leadership Camp, American Red Cross, and Huron High School Girl’s Basketball Biddy Program. I spent over 24 hours at Huron Safety Town where I was able to help young students, mainly those going into Kindergarten, learn how to stay safe while on the road. I was also able to spend over 24 hours at STAR Leadership Camp where I was a councilor to those going into the sixth grade. I made sure that each student understood the importance of being a leader in today's society and how important they are to Huron’s community. Through National Honor Society I have been able to maintain in constant contact, approximately 10 hours, with the American Red Cross by volunteering in monthly blood drives. I have also dedicated 16 hours of my time to those young girls interested in someday being a varsity basketball player through the Biddy Basketball Program.
Throughout my past four years in high school, I have had the opportunity to maintain leadership positions in various organizations, including Spanish Honor Society and Drama Club. These groups have allowed me to be involved my school and community. I have organized various events including a stuffed animal drive in which we brought almost 1,000 donations of stuffed animals to the Pembroke Pines Police Department
The final mast of school and community involvement was catalyzed when I joined Key Club as a freshman. Finding a passion for service and leadership, it rapidly became my primary focus in deepening my high school experience. Key Club inspired me to search for further opportunities for leadership and involvement, leading me to join Student Council, Relay for Life, and so forth. Through my various executive positions, I have not only improved my own character and qualities, but also inspired others around me to do the
Growing up in a small town, it is crucial that every individual get involved. This has pushed me to stay active in athletics, National Honor Society, student government, FFA, band, choir, play production, speech, and CYO. I take every organization I am involved with seriously and have earned some leadership positions: FFA News Reporter, Volleyball & Basketball Captain, Class President, and Student Council Member. It is an honor to hold these leadership positions and be a positive role model for the younger generation. I am able to support those younger than me and demonstrate a hard work ethic. By using my leadership and communication skills I have been able to influence teammates and fellow members to have a positive attitude
First and foremost - my life is dedicated to the service of others. Through my time serving as Parkwood Beta President and the State President of the North Carolina Beta Club, I have understood the importance of a servant’s heart. I have had the honor of being Student Body President and Class President here Parkwood, and during my tenure I provided vital assistance and planning to events that included, Spring Fling, Winterfest, Powderpuff, Teacher Appreciation Week, dances, pep rallies; and, simple facilitation and leadership within the PWHS Student Council at large. Moreover, I have had the great opportunity of serving on the Executive Board of the PTSO for a few years now and served as the student liaison between the PTSO and the school. I had the honor of assisting with the Parkwood Pride 5K,
My high school years have been filled with many great memories; it is safe to say that I had an enjoyable high school experience. Some of my most unforgettable moments of my high school career have been in Beta Club. In 9th grade, I joined the Beta Club at my school. I joined because I knew that this club was an organization for those who love to serve others, and I know that decision will have a lasting impact on my life as well as on others’ lives. I was elected President of the Beta Club at my school in 11th grade. I led my club of about 40 members throughout the year as we took part in various service activities such as: trash pickup for Adopt a Highway, sponsoring a child for the holidays, and visiting local elementary schools to read
Throughout my educational career at St. Paul High School I have been involved in many roles of academic excellence and leadership that I believe have well-prepared me for my future. As a freshman and sophomore, I received two ACE Awards for maintaining a minimum 4.0 GPA and as a junior received and Academic Letter. During my sophomore year of high school, I participated in a number of leadership roles including 2015 HOBY ambassador and The Congress of Future Medical Leaders delegate. Now, as a senior, I have taken on more positions of academic leadership such as participating on the St. Paul High School Academic Challenge Team and being a member of the National Honor Society. Although these are only a number of my accomplishments over the
Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America or FCCLA has been a part of my life for six years now. I started as a sixth grader and have been hooked ever since. When I decided to join I would have never imagined I would be the chapter president or running to be the Wisconsin FCCLA State President. I have developed an endless amount of skills that have transformed me into the young adult I am right now.
When we first moved to Bozeman for graduate school, my wife and I were the only people within the state of Montana that we knew. We were enamored with the scenery and opportunity provided to us through MSU but felt isolated and a bit overwhelmed in our new setting. As time progressed we were able make friends within the community and become more comfortable with our surroundings. Soon after, Bozeman became home. As a community assistant it would be our priority to integrate new tenants into our community and establish a sense of home with them as quickly as possible. It would be our goal to make them feel welcome by showing them around town, sharing our favorite restaurants and hiking spots, and even letting them in on some secret fishing spot
