Personal Narrative: Big Gompers Park

On Saturday, March 12th, my mom and I went to Gompers Park in the North Park neighborhood. We went for a volunteer park clean-up day. When we got there, we were given what looked like a very large pair of tweezers, to pick up trash. We had a bucket for recycling and a bucket for garbage. My mom and I went to the field area first, where we found a lot of large soda and alcohol bottles. We also found several small candy and food wrappers. We believe that a lot of this garbage came from children and their parents who play sports (mostly baseball) at this park. This experience was really rewarding.
