The first day was pretty great. There was many cabins. Six of my friends and I decided to stay in a cabin called “willow.” The cabin had bunk beds and it had a bathroom and shower which was great because my friends and I wouldn’t have to share bathrooms and shower with all of the people. At the introduction they were telling me about the rules of the camp and our expectations. Then we ate lunch and I liked the food there it was really good. Then the real fun began. My friends and I went swimming. When I was standing on the edge of the bridge one of my friends pushed me. I got him back by doing it to him too. Then my friend and I went canoeing and we were doing really great at not tipping over but then we did tip over and we all fell in. It
Then we took a walk through Sievers, which is the woods on one side of camp. In the woods we looked for the lost cabin and were told the story about what the Indians did to the kids in the lost cabin. After that we went to supper, had cabin time, and got to know eachother better. Then we had campfire and my first ever serious Devos, which was amazing. The second day I wanted to wake up early to go do early morning clubs, but I was so tired that I fell back asleep. I was woken up again for breakfast later and went on to the rest of the day. The first full day of camp I swam during the entire freetime.
The Change in Female Roles “In the late 1955, a quiet, courageous woman named Rosa Parks refused to give her seat to a white man on a crowded Montgomery city bus... In Montgomery, segregated city buses were a constant reminder of inequality”(Birmingham Civil Rights Institute). In the 1930’s, women were bound by strict expectations from society and treated as inferior by men, thankfully today, women are respected for their differences and valued for their independence. Calpurnia is a mother-like figure in Scout and Jem’s lives, and she is the role model who teaches Scout that being a woman can be a positive thing.
The first time I went to camp. My grandpap has a hunting camp in Clearfield and took my cousins and I up there for the weekend. It was the funniest weekend I’ve ever had, we went went turkey hunting one day, and fishing the next day. It was a good guys weekend. Every night we would have a fire and cook on it. We would cook wings, pizza, steak and fish. The fish was my favorite. The worst thing about camp is the beds are in the same room so when we go to bed I could hear my pap snoring so I didn’t get that much sleep. Every morning I would wake up too a very good smell of breakfast cooking and I would go out and eat and wait till everyone got up. Then when everyone was up we would go in the woods and squarl hunt until lunch time. When it was
It was a boiling, steaming day. I was going to a friend's house at Goose Creek. When we were driving into Goose Creek, I saw a lot of interesting side by sides and four wheelers. Zack and I went swimming, and I almost Broke my foot. I jumped into a shallow part of the muddy water, and I could barely walk when I got out. When we concluded swimming, we went up to the lot and set up the pop up camper.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Actually, I am familiar with the stages of change as I have personally applied it, about four years ago, to break some bad health habits caused by difficult life circumstances. Although the term transtheoretical model is new to me, perhaps at that moment, I was more focused on how to take “action”, a behavior that can be identified to belong to the preparation stage. After several unused gym memberships, and the feeling of being eternally stuck in the preparation stage, but with a lot of determination, I was able to progress to my current stage of change, which is the maintenance change.
The hike was only a little more ways left to the campsite, and we had to hurry because it started getting dark. The sky had a pink hue, and the clouds were scattered everywhere. We went over a sketchy looking bridge that was over water, and then went down a rather large hill. We finally got to the campsite as the sun was setting. We immediately set up our tents and hammocks to get settled in. After the tents were all up, we started up a fire. We started it out small, and then built it up to the point where it was raging. The five of us huddled around the fire watching cinders shoot of into the air and told stories for hours. The fire started to die down so we put it out and went to bed. I took my one person tent and my sleeping bag and went off to hit the
We woke up early on the second day and got ready, we loaded back up and headed to Disney World. We all were so excited, even if we were already burned. I don't remember much of Disney World but i remember see all of my characters and getting my Mini Mouse hat that had a veil and a crown on it. It was pink and I had made papaw wear it for me. Heather and Sara fought like always with Sierra coming into the fight to calm them down. We rode rides and laughed a lot even though we were all very hot, it was at least 96
I don’t remember the exact date but I remember that the year was either 2008 or 2009 and I was around eight or nine years old. I skipped school that day so I could go hunting with my dad, and so I got to skip school. At that time my dad was part of a hunting club and he was allowed to bring me with him.
It was a trip I thought would be the same as any other trip, fun and memorable, which Onion Creek was, but it was more, it was a walk into a new culture. Onion creek held an aspect in their lifestyle which my culture was lacking, I discovered my phone wasn’t needed throughout the weekend, only my outspoken personality, because that’s what Onion creek preserved, the love and compassion of one another’s company. This is why I couldn’t make into words what my thoughts were, it was too much to fathom, so I simply came out
"You've got to come," said Colleen. "I'll talk to Joe," I responded, wanting to say
The best way to understand my major of interest is to take a guided tour of my bedroom. Over the years I have transformed it into a functional workspace that showcases my two primary hobbies. First, I will set the scene by describing the layout and general level of organization. Walking through the door, the first thing one notices is the makeshift workstation. Sitting askew across a folding table are five quadcopters in various states of repair. Their visual appearances range from sleek and futuristic, to a skeletal frame fitted with haphazard cables. No bedroom workshop is complete without a complementing assortment of tools, and this one is no exception. A soldering iron, drills, and other equipment are spread out in a functional, but disorganized
When I met Ashley, she dug her nails into my arm, and whacked her head on my shoulder. My initial reaction to the gesture was, “Great, all I’m going to get out of this week is scratches and bruises.” Little did I know, meeting Ashley would inspire me to live my life differently.
When you imagine getting away from life and things in it, you want to imagine someplace quiet like a cabin where you can gather yourself together. You can drive out to a small town like Pine Top to see what small art gathering they have going on and to interact with down to earth people. Giving yourself a challenge by working your body with hiking one of the canyons in the area whether it be a steep climb or a slow decent and rise. If you don’t feel like doing much you can read a book or two in a comfortable chair without worry of needing to go to a job or have the temptation to hop onto the internet. My cabin up north allows me to wash away my anxieties from the city life with activities like small gatherings, hiking, and reading
During the summer of 2015, my friend and I planned to go to a cabin camp with other people for 6 days on a tall mountain (for which I forget the name.) Our friend and I arrived at the camp 3 weeks since the school closed. when we arrived, the camp was stunning, It was at least 164 acres of land which half of it was a forest, there were 9 boys and 10 girls cabins, a kitchen, a dining hall, a gym with an upstairs game room (which included pool, foosball, air hockey and ping pong), there was a poo, a go kart track, a paintball arena,l and finally a field.
Fortunately, my family moved to a refugee camp on the Thai border in 2006, and there was plenty of libraries in the refugee camp. I was fifteen at that time and I started to read all kind of books from the libraries. There were many translated books from the western countries. I started to read about, marriage, family, sex and many other social knowledge books. Since than most of my belief were changed. I started to get along with the opposite sex students, and I started to date. However, I followed my culture practice in my dating in order to avoid unwanted teenage pregnancy. There was no kissing or touching in my dating. I would study together with my boyfriend, visit our friend’s houses, and eating out together. Having a boyfriend was always
