Buying my first Car At the age of 17 all I could think about was having a car. However, I understood that owning a car, I would be required to have a job. This would allow me to pay for insurance, gas and maintenance issues. I also understood buying a car required me to have a driver license. After taking all the necessary steps to purchase my first car. The very first car I bought was a “lemon”. I should have known the car was a lemon because of the price. There is an old saying “you get what you pay for”. While out shopping for cars one day, I just so happen to pass by a car dealer that sold used cars. I stopped in and talked to the sales man on duty. I explained to him that I never bought a car before and was looking for one I could purchase for $250. He took me to the back of the lot where they stored cars that had been reposed from owners that could not make their payments. There he showed me a 1965 Oldsmobile and explained how this was the only car he could sell me in that price, he went on to explain how he really should sell it for $400 but because it was my first buy he would sell it to me for $250. I looked around the lot for other cars that may have been a bit nicer, there were a few but they all had much bigger price tags. This was the only one he had for $250 although I should have known there maybe problems with that car, because of the price, it was my first car and I wanted it. Next, I should have known the car was a lemon when I seen the Exterior.
I had three expectations when I bought my first car. I needed a car that was well built, low cost, and simple to maintain. I expected the car would have no problems, so it can haul me to my next duty station after Navy basic training. The A/C, stereo, and the engine would all perform flawlessly. The only expense I would have would be fuel. I had saved money for months to purchase this car. At the car lot a jet-black, old-school American
“He already had a perfectly good car, he insisted: a beloved 1982 Datsun B210, slightly dented but mechanically sound, with 128,000 miles on the odometer. “I can’t believe they’d try and buy me a car,” he later complained in a letter to Carine" (Krakauer
The most outstanding moment of my life so far is when i got my first car.It was a cool March morning in Pensacola Florida.I had my drivers test at eight thirty in the morning at the DMV on W street. As i got to the DMV ,we checked in for my appointment we had made.Soon the instructor came out and told me it was my turn.As nervous but as ready as i could be,i followed him out to my car. After he checked to make sure all safety requirement were checked,i began my test. All i could remember was what my parents had told me.¨If you pass your drivers test you will get a car.¨.When i finished my test,i had only missed 9 points. So i went back into the DMV and took my picture for my license. On my way back home my mom said ¨we have something for you.¨.As
I can remember how excited I was when I bought my very own first car. I spent hours and hours fixing up my car exactly how I wanted it. I waited a very long time to buy my own car. I worked for hours and hours, saving money to buy a good running car. I did not want to buy a cheap car. I wanted to buy one I know would last and didn’t have anything more than minor mechanical problems, if any. I knew if I bought one of the streets it was bound to come with something needing to be repaired or replaced. Having proper maintenance done to the car was also my way of guaranteeing my car would at least run okay for a little while. My first car was a 2002 Hyundai Sonata featured with 19’ black rims, with clean interior and dark tinted windows. The sound system was in great condition and for it to be stock, had a really nice bang to it. I absolutely loved my car, It felt so nice and I
I was 10 years old when I began to drive on my own and was 16 years old when I first drove by myself. It was great and one of the best things to ever happen in my life. When I was a little child I would be sitting in my mom or dads lap holding on to the steering wheel because I couldn’t reach the gas petal. As I was getting older my dad started teaching me how to drive by myself. The first time I did it by myself I didn’t know how to make the car go forward or backwards.
I sat there nervous , thinking this is it I have to do this ,It's now or never . I can feel the sweat coming down my forehead ,my hands also sweaty as I gripped the steering wheel. My shot at getting my drivers license was finally here . I can feel the driving instructor watch my every move . But let's go back a couple of weeks to the one day I decided I was ready to get behind the wheel . My 15th birthday , in my culture when a girl turns 15 they are coming into adult hood and there is a big celebration called Quinceañera. I was not to happy with the celebration all I really wished for was to have my own car . My parents on the other and it being tradition they didn't really ask for my opinion . After all what teenage girl didn't want to have
One of the most important events that happened in my life was just recently, and that was buying my second car. This thought process was in the making for quite a while, considering that I was getting tired of taking my silver Hyundai Elantra in the garage every four months for repairs. For that reason, it made sense that it was time for a new car or a used one, I did not care which all I cared about was that it had to be a manual transmission. In addition, the fact that I outright hate going car shopping, I put it off and off until this past January. Since my mom had surgery that month, she was home and could go car shopping for me, well searching on the computer shopping. Since she was doing that, I did not have to worry about it and she knew what I wanted for a car.
I was supposed to sell a regular pack of an ice cream for 50 cents. Thirty five of them ought to be paid to my supervisor and remaining fifteen stood in my pocket. But very soon I realized
I wanted a car so I wouldn’t have to rely on my dad for taking me to work, school, and other places. I had money saved up from previous summers, but it wasn’t enough to buy a car. I worked at Safeway during this time as a courtesy clerk. I hated this job because I would have to go outside and push carts during the hot summer and rainy days. I dreaded going to work when I saw how hot it was going to be, but I stuck with it. After some very long months at a job I didn’t like, I had saved up enough money to buy my own car. I was very proud of myself that day.
I found a number of potential vehicles, a silver 2003 Jaguar with no reverse, a 2001 black Jeep Cherokee with no backseat, a 2000 blue Taurus with 200,000 miles on it, all potential winners. Anything to get me out of the “mom van.” I showed my parents car after car after car. I think they started to relive that what I could afford wasn’t a vehicle they’d
It was the summer before college around February. When I got my first car, a 2001 Honda Civic This car was something special to me because not only was it my first car but it has yet to break down on me. I've had a little issues here and there, but it gets me where I need to go. One day I went over to my dads to get my brakes fixed and I had the perfect breaks afterwards. But it wasn't installed 100% correctly. On one of my front brakes he forgot to put a brake pad in between the rotaries and the metal. So it was being chewed out because metal was rubbing against metal. The sound of the metals rubbing together was like a cannonball being scraped on concrete. So about a month after the excruciating noise I decided to stop by tires plus to
The roar of the engine, the wind in your hair these represent the freedom of owning your first car. I learned how to drive in our cow pasture when I was only ten years old, and after that I dreamed of the day that I would have my very own car. I was so excited to get and drive my own car, little did I know that my dream would come crashing down.
When I turned sixteen, my parents and I went looking for a car for me. We looked all over the town of Austin, MN. Until, we pulled up to Southwest Sales. While we were driving around the Southwest Sales lot, I found that car I wanted. This car was a maroon 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse. When I saw the car I told my mom “That is the one I want.”
Buying a car can be one of the happiest times of a young adult's life, but when they find out the cost of a new car it gets scary. As a young adult, he or she may not be able to buy a brand-new car so they will need to buy a used car. I remember buying my first used car very well, it was About three weeks ago. I was very excited to be able to be my first car, but I quickly noticed that the amount of money that I had saved up was not much. I did not have many options when it came to cars. My parents wanted me to get a safe and reliable car but I went against that and bought my dream car a Ford Mustang GT. It was very hard for me to find a good condition Ford Mustang but with the right resources and help, I was able to buy my dream car.
By the time most people are into their early 20’s they have already obtained their driver 's license and have been on the road for a couple years. Personally, I do not possess a driver 's license yet and have minimal behind-the-wheel experience. As much as I’d love that to change, there are a few hurdles that I have yet to overcome. Primarily, at the moment I cannot afford a vehicle and the expenses that come with it. I am a very worrisome person so I don’t want a old clunky car that may leave me stranded several miles away from home. I would feel more at ease with a newer vehicle that features the more modern safety features, it would definitely bring a great peace of mind to me knowing that both my passengers and I have all the resources possible to be safe in case of an unfortunate event.
