California Screamin
I stepped into a line with like a million people in it and I knew it was going to be a long wait because we were in the line of California Screamin in Disneyland. After a few minutes a idea came to my mind and it was to play tennis with my Cousin and Uncle which were in line with me. Smack the first hit made my hand red but it wasn’t over my Uncle wanted to vs me to. I waited a few minutes to let my hand rest then I decided to vs Chris.
“Ouch!” I yell.
“Haha” my Uncle laughs at me. Smack!!, I hit my Uncle’s hand and he didn’t even budge but after a few matches we found are way to the guy checking are heighth.
“Yes” the man says that were tall enough, and let us on the ride. Then I step over the little crack between the roller coaster on the ground I was standing on. I pull down the safety bar, the car I was in starts to rattle a bit That’s when I knew there was no turning back. We took a little turn and stop, the other people on the rollercoaster were confused. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9…10.
It was 5 am when a voice yells, “Drew it’s time to get up.” I jumped out of bed cause I knew we were going to DisneyLand. So I started to load my suitcase for week of fun. As an 8-year-old child, the worlds scary place. Everywhere you look there’s something terrifying. From people the size of giants, roaming the streets, with no care what so ever with their surroundings or just realizing that in a few years would come the most difficult and emotionally unstable time of my life. Sure, those things may be slightly exaggerated, but what I do know is the most horrendous experience I had in the land of joy that ultimately ruined my love Disney for many years.
I looked up at the roller coaster and all its' loops and turns and jumped with excitement. "Let's go!", I exclaimed. As we were walking up the stairs, a part of me wanted to turn back, but i was determined to get on this one ride. The parents were fed up with our wild animal like behavior and told us to play downstairs in the basement. We all went down the basement and started to playing tag. Therefore, we had to be careful playing because the basement was not finished at the time and had metal studs where the walls are supposed to go and the concrete floors that are now hardwood. When everybody went upstairs because they were as tired as an olympic runner after a meet my Dad came down to fix a light bulb. He used a ladder to fix it so he could reach and when he was done he went upstairs so I was the only one in the basement. I wanted to be like my Dad so I decided to climb the ladder. I was at the top when my foot slipped off the ladder. Somehow I was able to turn my body around and grab onto a pipe to stop myself from falling. Ever since I found out my softball team could make it to California for Nationals I knew this would be our goal for the summer. Now here is where the challenging part came in, we only had three chances to make it to California. We made it, we were lucky enough to make our goal in the third chance.
It was the year of 2008 (I was Seven and Jadyn was five) . It was a beautiful day and we decided to play outside with our my sister Jadyn,family friend Sabrina,my sister Ireland,and me.We were playing outside and I was teaching my sister how to go down to slide a different way the first way was on your back ( she was only little ) ,the second time was side ways but as she was about to go down side ways she had her seizure. Which made her fall off the slide head first on the ground. I didn't understand what was going on but I ran as fast as I could and was pulling her into the house crying and my mom came running to me and took jadyn out of my hands and told me to go outside. As I was crying I heard the ambulance coming.
When I was in Kindergarten we went to Disney World for the first time. It was our last day, and since my brother was still in a stroller, we went to mostly shows. The only problem with that is trying to leave the show can be difficult because there are so many people trying to leave the same theatre at once. We were at Animal Kingdom and had been there all day. Our family friends were with us, there were 5 of them in there family. It was an especially crowded day, everything we did we had to wait in line for, usually over an hour. Waiting in line was boring, and made me want to run around even more than I normally did when I was 5.
So one day our family decided to go to Disney World with her family. It was our family, our aunts family, my mom’s parents, and Emmy and Bear. We took 2 cars, 6 people in each. It took us a whole 11 hours to get there! When we got there we stayed in 2 apartments called New Orleans.
The area where you wait in line is slightly under the roller coaster. So as we wait the roller coaster blow a strong wind every time it passed over us it was terrifying, they would try to calm me down but it wouldn’t work I was scared. Then it was our turn to go on the ride. As soon as they buckled me in I started to panic. I was like “ GET ME OFF OF THIS DEATH MACHINE, I WANT MY MOMMY” but it was too late. I heard a loud noise and new it was time. The roller coaster had everyone’s feet hanging they wanted you to feel like you were gonna fall. The ride started moving forwards then stopped. I opened my eyes and saw was staring at the sky I was on my back. Then it dropped backwards I was screaming my heart out it went in a loop and all I could think about was how I was going to die. My stomach was in my throat. Then we got to the top of the other tower, and now I was looking at the ground I heard my cousin screaming “ Thank you Jesus it’s over”, then someone shouted over her “ IT’S NOT OVER”. Then it dropped forward and at this point I was crying it went in a loop again. As all of this is going on I kept sliding back and forth on the seat it was like a near death experience. It was a Monday morning in october, a work day. I usually would go to school but I had the day that monday for parent teacher conferences. I was in second grade. Even though I had off of school, my mom still had to go to work. She worked at a private school, which didn't have conferences that day. My alarm went off, and I crawled out of bed. I “Why do I still have to get up early? I don't even have school” I thought, as I dragged myself across the hall to the bathroom. I got myself ready for school, and my mother and I were out the door.
Everyone has a different thought when they think about a place they have visited. When I think of California I think about the time I could have lost my life. Only being ten years old and seeing your life flash before your eyes is a scary situation. Ever since that day I have learned to think twice before entering somewhere.

It was our first time going to California. My family and I were very excited to go to California and it was our first time flying United Airlines, It was also our last. When we got to the airport, we waited for the plane and it took off a bit late due to mechanical problems. We thought that we would be fine for getting on the next plane, but we had to wait because Air Force One was in the air. Due to that, we missed our next flight in Chicago and had to wait about 6 hours, until 12:00 am to get to on our next plane to San Francisco. At this point I was as tired as a Marathon runner after running 3 marathons. This was the worst part of the whole trip because we were running through the airport just to miss our flight, and then we had to wait hours in the airport with the disgusting smell of McDonald's and airport Chicago dogs. We finally got on the plane and took off for San Francisco.
After playing soccer me and Kelsie went to my house. We made a game called volley-occer. It's a combination of Volleyball and Soccer. As we were playing Kelsie was laying on the ground and kicked the ball. The ball hit the wall then came back and hit her in the face. We laughed and continued to play. After a couple of
January was a mostly successful month. During soccer conditioning, I felt more in-shape like I had hoped at the beginning of the month. I also, thankfully, noticed an increase of fruit in my lunches. Sometimes I shift a little to potato chips, but it’s not my fault people made junk food taste so good! As for my responsibility goal… nothing really improved. I still complain about chores and put off my homework until last minute, but I hope to change that in future months.
One day me and my friends went to an abandoned jail it was really big and we had no clue where to go because it was a out first time there.we had to jump over a gate to get in and when we were all in we started looking around the jail for an entrance and we found an open window and one by one we entered the window and we were in a very sketchy room so when all of us were in we realized there were two doors so we out the door right in front of us and it was the main hallway with all the jail cells and it was a really long hallway and it was dark there were no other windows or doors that were open for light and the only light we had were our phone flashlights.
