After a few minutes, I pull into the parking lot, parking right next to a little blood red sedan with a license plate that gives me a chuckle, FME HRD. Shaking my head I walk into the office and toward my desk, sitting my satchel down I knock on Lucy's door. I walk in quietly as I hear her on the phone, walking over to get a soda from her little fridge. I hear her talking to an unknown party as I look at her wall of pictures, I can see pictures of her with many high powered people. I see her with the mayor, as well as with the governor and many others I don't recognize. I know it's foolish, but I can't help but feel a little inadequate, here's this woman, barely into her upper twenties, she's met so many high powered people. Here I am knocking …show more content…
I watch her face go a bright shade of cherry red. "Well, you can take your idea of a deal and slam it up the crack in the road," she yells as she slams down the phone. "Damn defense attorney's think I'm dumb as an ox just because I have a pair of boobs. I really look forward to getting that child molester in a courtroom, showing him exactly what this idiot with boobs can do." I watch as she shakes out her hair a little, stretching. "You know, being on the phone that long listening to that twit talking, I feel like I've lost a few brain cells," she chuckles as she walks around the desk and gives me a little kiss. "So did you get lost? I didn't think you'd be gone this long because we have the next case to work on. It's some guy named Tyrone Mitchell, arrested for spousal abuse, assault, and assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer." She hands me a pile of files. "This guy really gets around. Oh, before I forget, Mr. Tully is out of the office on medical leave for about a month so we will have to wait until he gets back to talk to …show more content…
I think this one will be a pretty open and shut case, cause he's got a really bad temper as well as a long history of abuse. Personally, I kind of wish they had the death penalty for child molesters and spousal abusers, but I know that's never going to happen. Anyway, It doesn't surprise me thought that he attacked an officer, as long as I've known the man he's had a problem with authority. I can remember when he even threatened the landlord of the building I live in. He told him that he would put his head through the mailboxes, one at a time if he didn't get thing water fixed. The reason that sticks out in my mind is because the landlord told us just the day before that he had the part ordered, he was just waiting for it to come in. It rather surprised me when he went
The midnight sky is pitch black with only a slight gleam of light emanating from the moon. The night is so silent that even a pin drop could be heard from miles away. No one is stirring and the world has drifted off into a deep sleep. The night seems blissfully peaceful. But the silence is torn by the sound of rustling leaves in the distance. Two dark shadows emerge from the forest and gaze heavily at the sleeping house. The two figures slowly creep towards the house with devious thoughts racing through their minds. They begin to tear open the window screen and quietly crawl into the house. A flashlight pierces through the darkness and flutters through the rooms. The figures begin to rummage through the house and fill their hands with wealth.
On Monday, 11/30/2015 at approximately 1755 hours, Officer Lauritzen and I responded to intersection of Holt Blvd and Plum Avenue to assist Sergeant Ortiz to subdue a suspect who was fighting him. Upon arrival, I saw other OPD officers trying to handcuff the suspect, later identified as Kevin Larry. Larry was on his stomach and he was yelling that he did not do anything. Larry was resisting arrest by turning his hip side to side and was trying to pull his hands to the front of his body. Larry was grabbing our handcuffs and he was not letting them go after being told to let go. We told Larry to not resist arrest and stop fighting. He refused and we forcefully pulled his hands from his sides and placed them behind him. We handcuffed him and he
I, Sgt Noe 1737, arrived on scene to interview the suspect and witness. Suspect stated he attempted to break up a fight when he was attacked by someone he thought was a plain clothes Officer (Bouncer Hunter Knight). Officer Herman was in full uniform. Suspect apologized for his behavior and requested leniency. I observed the suspect to have minor scratches on his face and tazer prongs in his lower abdomen. Witness, Hunter Knight, statement was consistent with Officer Herman's statement. Crimelab was summoned to Ft Sanders for photographs. Officer Herman's car was out of video range and the camera had powered down prior to the incident. When Officer Loveday arrived to assist, the suspect was in custody with no further incident.
On Friday, 12/25/2015, Cpl. T. Jones and I were working uniformed patrol in a marked black and white police vehicle. At approximately 1340 hours, we responded to a domestic violence call, located at 2040 S. Bon View Ave. While on our way to the location of the call, the dispatcher said a subject threw the reporting party, Erika Alvarez, down the stairs. Upon arrival, I saw several OPD officers attempting to gain access into the residence. The front gate to the residence was locked and the front door, which was located approximately 7 feet behind the locked gate, was open. OPD officers were talking to two subjects, Erika Alvarez and Gabriel
On 04/18/2016 I assisted Sgt. Patterson on a traffic stop in the 900 block of East K-53 HWY, Sumner County, Kansas. When I drove past I observed an older four door passenger vehicle stopped on the north side of the road with Sgt. Patterson's patrol vehicle behind it with emergency equipment activated. I turned around of K--53 and pulled in behind Sgt. Patterson, I activated my rear emergency lights and walked to the passenger side window of Sgt. Patterson's patrol vehicle. In the vehicle he had stopped I could see two white males sitting in the front driver and passenger seats, Sgt. Patterson was already back in his vehicle and was running the occupants information with SUCO 911. Sgt. Patterson told me that the passenger was moving around
So when I first got there I had the idea that it was a mock trial. It was not until we start and they started going over the history of the Texas Supreme Court and how they are able to travel thought the state did I realize that the court cases were real. Which, I am glad that they were real cases because that would have been boring if they were mock. So once I got that all right in my head I started to focus on the cases the first one was at some point difficult to follow to quote my friend who’s in high school “I don’t get why everybody is so mad about so ranch there is plenty of it at Walmart at leas that’s what that one dude said”. Now, my friends, he is the class clown, so I knew it was a joke but he did ask me “for real why did he keep
What if you were sent to jail for a robbery that excelled to a murder that you didn’t commit. Well this event happened to a young black boy, named Steve, that was influenced by his environment. The crime that Steve was a part of was robbery and first degree murder. The reason he took part in these events are unknown, but one thing that is certain is he will be charged and have to be proven innocent or guilty. What do you think? Will Steve be proven innocent or guilty of the crimes he was charged with? In all honesty Steve should be held accountable for the robbery with his associate’s James King and Bobo Evans but not for the charge of first degree murder of Mr. Nesbitt (the drug’s store owner). After reading all the evidence it can be proven
When our Nation had regarded themselves as thirteen newly colonies and to separate themselves from Great Britain. Congress had imparted to the state legislature twelve amendments to the Constitution. These Amendments later became the Bill of Rights, the first basic rights that the country was founded to provide. The whole point that the Bill of Rights were made was so that new Federal Government were prevented from impairing human rights and freedom. However, these rights are being undermined through extreme liberalism that happens in the education system predominantly the First Amendment.
Regardless if the officer felt threatened or not, he lived. He got to see his family. The person he killed can’t. This victim will never see his/her family again, his/her mother lost a child. The hardest thing to do is bury your child before getting buried yourself. With the thought of having to bury their child, the family goes through tough episodes – grief. They mourn the loss of the family member, but also let the grief get the best of them. Some retaliate. Retaliation is payback, and some people feel an eye for an eye, leg for a leg. These broken families try to get justice the best way they know how, because they know that they will not get any from the justice system. There are many ways to cope with a loss through faith, and just being around positive
It started with both of us witnessing a dark colored late model Mustang, traveling at excessive speed down Wheeler Ave. In fact my exact words were, “Oh look at that dipshit!” After confirming radar of what we had both seen, lights and siren were activated. The suspect vehicle pulled over a block later on one of the side streets. At first this would have seemed routine, but that change every few minutes. The driver did not have a valid license, or proof of ownership, he did not have insurance. Another officer responded shortly and began speaking to the passenger of the vehicle. Both Officers were convinced something was off about the individuals. They had to run the drivers name multiply times in multiple states to no avail. Come to finds out he wasn’t giving them his full name, after the proper name was used to search it came back the driver was a convicted felon. The passenger had nothing on record so they released him on his own. But after they decided to detain and arrest the driver, an inventory search yielded a firearm in the trunk of the vehicle. The driver was charged with possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person 28-1206, defaced firearm 28-1207, and possession of a short shotgun 28-1203. At that time a third officer arrived and to two officers assisting left to find the passenger who left midway through the entire series of events. They later returned with the fine young gentleman. After that a tow
Domestic altercation contributes the largest category of calls received by the po-lice annually. It is not surprising considering the vast number of womb who are abused by their significant others. I am writing in regards to the domestic violence charge I received October 8, 2016. First, I will begin by touching base on the events that occurred that night. I had received an acceptance letter from Clinton Technical School that I had been accepted to nursing school. Since I had gotten accepted I decided that I wanted to celebrate by going to a concert with a friend of mine.
I spent nearly five years getting rid of the shadows that I have experienced sexual assault. This incident occurred in the winter when I was a five-grade student in primary school. However, until now, I still remember it.
Although the rise of Christianity to dominate western religions may have been undeniable, there were key moments that helped secure this position for Christianity. The rise of the constantinian Dynasty was one of those key moments. During the 4th century, Constantine rose to emperor in the west after the death of his father. Never the less, constantinian and his brother in law Maxentius who was also his co-emperor in the west were rivals. There was a lot of hostility between them and a war broke out after years of political backstabbing. Before they met in the battle of Milvian Bridge in 312 AD, Constantine apparently had saw the sign of Christ in his dream. Several years later, Eusebius gives an account in which Christ appeared to Constantine and told him to place the heavenly sign on the battle standards of his army. Armed with this holy power, Constantine destroyed Maxentius and there for becoming the only western Emperor.
