Seth, I am a Graphic Designer in the College Relations Department at LSC Montgomery. By just stating the important points and more use of pictures proved to be more eye catching for us and potential consumers. This could help achieve the aims of this organisation as students and working class people could notice this poster when they shop at local newsagents or public areas when they go to work or college. Although these won't be distributed to houses like leaflets, they will be situated at public areas such as on buses or some of the local shops nearby. This would increase customer awareness of the business on a whole or be a drawback as some people like the elderly who do not shop as often as other student are more likely to miss the poster rather than students who walk past on a day to day
The Greater New York Dental Convention held on 26th November 2017 focused on issues relating to dental hygiene and practices. There were some exhibitions in that convention displaying various dental diseases, hygiene practices, and dental technologies. One of the exhibits that caught my eye was the exhibition by Amanda Vera and Tiffany Andron from New York City College of Technology. First of all, their poster was well designed with a well selected them for the poster which was visually attractive. The color schemes were appealing to the eye and could easily attract passersby. The layout of the poster was also clean with words having a clear font, not too dull.
Complete the poster presentation using one of the templates provided as a guide. The poster presentation must include a description of the selected topic, the components of the topic, why there is a need for change, the theory you will use for a change to occur, and an evaluation plan for the change. The finished Assignment should be a Poster Project, excluding the title page and references. The writing should be well ordered, logical, and unified, as well as original and insightful;
(Just as a side note, I had pictures of the posters in the original paper but couldn 't transfer them to here. The first link in the bibliography has tons of WW1 propaganda posters you can use.)
The students have just found out that one of Patricia Polacco’s books has been chosen to be made into a movie. Each student is responsible for making a Coming Attraction Poster that will be hung in all the local movie theaters. Each student will have already chosen and read the book. The poster (12” x 18” construction paper) should include title/author/illustrator. They are to list all the important characters to the story. Students can also assign an actor/friend to portray the different characters. An example of this would be Mr. Falker played by Tom Hanks. Students will then illustrate one scene from the book, and finally write a short paragraph explaining
The item I would like to talk about today is the 2017 Western Michigan University football team’s poster. Every year before the season our football team releases a poster listing the team slogan and schedule for the upcoming season. I believe after four years here at Western Michigan University that the posters main purpose is to build hype and to get students to obviously come to the game. The poster for this year’s team has drawn me in since day one. I think the background of the photo allows the main subjects in the photo to really stand out. I also think that this schedule/poster allows a student like myself to keep up to date when the team is playing at Waldo Stadium. I strongly believe that this poster is an excellent example of graphic design and communication.
Finally, we decided to focus on the design and style of the posters, as well as some of the rhetoric appeals used, rather than talking about the topic itself. Thus, we concluded that our main point would be what we considered to be our strongest aspect of the posters, which we determined was the balance between pathos and logos in the posters. By choosing two posters to display data and facts, and two to display emotion-evoking images and messages, we determined that we provided enough variety of information so that an individual that is either interested in the facts of this topic or that is interested in the morality of this topic could be persuaded to pursue more information on this topic, or even heed our call for advocacy. Although we were met with some issues concerning time and a difference in both topic and design choices, we completed the poster series in a manner we were quite satisfied
Also, when creating the flyer and the email, How Writing Works reminded me to keep 3 things in mind, ethos, logos, and pathos. Starting with the conventions of a flyer, a couple positive components could be the simplicity of the information, possibilities for bright colors and organized layouts, and a quick straightforward way to communicate with all sorts of audiences; and within my flyer I took advantage of all these components. For example, I included the 5 W’s, who, what, where, when, and why to cut down on wordiness and unnecessary information and to focus on exactly what our audiences needed to know about our new course. Developing the layout of the flyer was difficult because I didn’t want it to look cluttered and messy, so I chose to implement varied sizes and colors of the same shapes just on the corners, now when I compare the flyers layout and the emails design they are complete opposite considering that the email must look neat and put together. I also inserted a couple photos that add a pathos element to the flyer to provoke an empathy for all sexual assault victims. Continuing on, the email was created to look professional with just simply the large logo and bullet points to break up the information listed in the email. The flyer and the email do have a similarity when comparing the wordiness, my
What i mean by that is, the images i wanted to use in the poster, also the message on the actual poster. I did not want to use a picture that would be offensive, gruesome, and/or inappropriate to the #BlackLivesMatter movement. My primary audience is all men and women, all ages in the United States. I anticipate this concrete audience will respond to the PSA in a negative and positive way. Negative in the sense of all races not being represented and positive in a way that gives those who have lost their lives due to the police a
It will be a poster that is about 10 inches wide and 20 inches long making it the perfect size to grab peoples’ attention as well as fit on a poster bored. The first page will introduce the problem in a catchy font to get people's attention. Then throughout the whole piece I will have headers in bright text so those who were skimming the graphic will get the important information first. The headers will be designed to spark interest and then further information will be presented directly underneath. After the introduction page, there will be a page presenting the research. I will compile the data into graphs that pertain to the prevalence of underage binge drinking on college campuses. I want to present these statistics at the beginning to emphasize how serious of an issue this is. After presenting the data, the next page will feature a very complex looking web of the responsible factors. I want this page to look very overwhelming so the reader understands the problem does not have one simple cause or solution. However, I do not want to loose my message in this overwhelming design so my main points about responsibly as a network will be in big pink font. Essentially these points will emphasize the idea of responsibility as a network and that through looking at it this way, better solutions can be found. These main points were selected because if readers do not have time to read all the responsible factors, they will at
2014 Fall Semester in the begining was going pretty good i was excited to began school , adapting to the new college life, and interacting with friends and new people. I was attending all my classes on time , studying , and completing the required assigments that needed to be done. I also was working a full-time at Gensis Logistics it wasnt easy trying to manage my schedule , but i tried to make it work the best i could. MTE 1 , 3 , and SDV was a breeze to me I was completing my assigments , studying , and understanding the information that was given to me. Now on the otherhand ENG wasn't hard for me i just didnt understand the content that was teached by the teacher. English was always the strongest subject for me so i couldnt understand why it was such a problem in college , maybe it was the teacher and her teaching methods. I never understood any information that was given it seemed to me like our class was always off topic one class period we would talk english, and then another class period we would talk about something else besides english. Then she assigned papers and assigments that was unfamilar to me it seem like everytime she assigned the class papers
The movie poster that I have chosen is Maleficent, produced by Walt Disney and is released in year 2014. Movie poster is very important as it is considered as an advertisement for a particular movie. With containing the powerful visual elements of the movie such as the famous actors, movie title and attractive image, it can easily grab the audience’s attention. Some of the movie posters may include the main actor’s name as well. These visuals are vital to convey impactful messages to the audience and persuade them to watch. Maleficent is an example of using actress’s name to attract audience. The main actress name, Angelina Jolie is written in an elegant and simple black capital letters in serif typeface and is placed in upper part of the poster.
Poster Presentation. Prior to determining the groups intervention, the group discussed how we should present our information. We decided that in order to “catch the eye” of students, having a poster with bright colors and bulleted information. In addition, the group decided to provide all the information that is presented on the poster in a brochure as miniature poster version.
