He knew it was going to be a no excuses to lose to weather and it was going to be a good day for fans to watch football tonight. He had met with Kyle Cannon who was the quarterback for the team and a running back on the team named Dion Gordon;
Bare with me for another blog post about volleyball. This weekend was the Badger Region Volleyball Tournament, which my team participated in. When I walked into the building, the memories flooded in with scenes from the elevator adventures, cheese fries, and design your own sweatshirts. The first day, my team didn't play up our full potential, with my team only winning one out of three matches; which meant that we didn't place in any of the brackets, meaning zero chance of receiving a medal. However, at the end of the second match, I got switched from being middle all-around to libero ( a position where you only play back row on offense and defense). I guess it's an honor, but it puts a lot of pressure on me by labeling me as the best passer
Adversity has always been a close cousin. Being born in a third world country, I had to overcome adversity arriving to America. Once in America I walked with adversity as I faced many cultural and lingual barriers. In my journey with my cousin we shared many priceless moments. One of the moments that stuck to me was my recent trip to Pakistan.
One time me and my family and friends were going ghost hunting at grave yards. We had went to a couple already nothing had happened that was scary at any of them yet so we were starting getting bored. So we decided to
“Let me tell you something you already know; the world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently, if you let it. You, me, or nobody
Going into my junior year of cross-country and already making it to state the previous year, there was no way I wasn’t going again. Well, as many people have experienced before me; I was faced with adversity. Now some people decide to hide from it and others seek to conquer the task. I had to choose between the two when I started experiencing growing pains in my right hip.
The demon was just your typical run of the mill demon, but he was fast..unusually fast, and that’s what had taken you by surprise. You stealthily crept through the window of the abandoned farmhouse, careful not to make any noise whatsoever. You entered through a room that looked as if it had once belonged to a little girl. You paused for a moment taking in the scene around you, there was a small pink table with plastic china sitting atop it. At first glance you didn’t think much of it, until something told you to look again. Upon your second look, you noticed the tiny bloody handprints that wrapped around the plastic. You took a sharp inhale of breath and decided it was time to move on. You quickly and quietly walked over to the door frame and peeked around the corner, hoping no demons would jump out in front of you. Satisfied with hearing and seeing nothing you took a step out into the hall and continued until you found stairs leading upwards. You hesitated for a moment, considering whether or not you were actually going to go up the steps or not when you heard a
When the endemic of flesh consuming creatures of un-death starts I’ll most likely be at home watching videos on YouTube when I hear of the pandemic of flesh devouring abominations and the first thing I would do is go to the bathroom, plug the bath and turn on the water to created reservoir because clean water will be invaluable not only for survival but for trade as well since I plan to be a trader. Next I would build a secure store room and beef up defenses, if I’m going to be a merchant like I plan I need to keep my things safe and in my possessive I mean why would you trade valuable resources like food, water, ammo, or weapons for thing you could just take so I would team up with or just buy a local group of raiders/militia to protect my
There I am standing alone at the top of Mount Everest. I have everything I need to go back to the bottom. I don’t use any of it. I am a soldier, and my mission is not complete. Alone, I am still not afraid. Temperature is 28 degrees, but I am not letting it affect my skills. I walk alone through the dark, eerie woods. It has been 32 hours, and I have still not completed my objective. I was sent to assassinate the leader of an military trained group. The group was out here training to intercept signal for a helicopter transporting cargo to an unknown military base in the valley of the mountain Everest. I have intercepted their signal and found out where exactly they were located. I found them, and it wasn’t an easy mission. Many
"Come on Violet, just one." My best friend Frank pleaded. He had spent most of the afternoon trying to convince me to watch a horror movie. I put up with a lot of his crap as it was, what made him think that I was going to watch one of those stupid films?
My parents told me when I was two years old I talked to a spirit. It was a kid that had died near our house in the woods. When I was five we got a dog and he would stare at our wall and bark at it like someone was there. He would do this almost every night and sit and stare at the wall. My cousin was two years old he was at my house and one night he said he seen a man, he started to scream in the night and have scratches on his arms.
My sources of power come from being the chair of the House Internal Matters Committee and the House Rules Committee, as well as being a Hispanic Republican. Another source of power comes from being an incumbent, who has been elected four times. Since I am the chair of the House Internal Matters Committee, I have a larger influence over the bills that are considered since this is one of three committees who considers the proposed bills and have the power to pass, amend, or kill legislative proposals. Because I am chair of the House Rules Committee, which reviews legislation after it is passed through a standing committee in the House and before the bill goes to the full House, I serve as a gatekeeper for proposed legislation, working with other
Where the Inner Demons Lie Throughout the process of growing up there are multiple emotions and situations a child may face, they will not always be easy to overcome. The most prominent emotions or stages are anger and pessimism, feeling neglected, the issue of trying to find yourself, and lastly a
You could tell from the overcoming dark clouds that it was going to be a storm. That should have been a sign. But playing soccer in the rain, that was my euphoria. Sinking into each step on the muddy grass felt like walking on clouds. Tiny raindrops hitting your face gave
What does this have to do with my religion you might ask? How is that good, true, and beautiful to me? First of all, my church was always a great place to be during the week for mutual and for sacrament meeting on Sundays back in Oregon. Mostly I’m not good meeting new people, I thought it was going to be difficult in Arizona. But everyone greeted me with open arms and I started to see good in my life again. As I went to the new Gilbert temple and took place in the dedication, I felt one of the strongest feelings of peace I’ve had in a very long time. I started to realize my life wasn’t bad as I made new friends in high school and accepted who I am as a
