Personal Narrative Essay

She turned around and gave me that look that every mom gives their child when they know they did or said something wrong. I made myself scarce and went up to my brothers room. I shook them senseless, yelled as if I was mom, tickled them, and yet they still wouldn’t get up. I didn’t know what else to do, so I walked out of their room and as I slowly closed their door my light bulb turned on. I went back and peeked my head through the door and teased “Mom made pancakes and if you don’t get up right now you are not going to get any.”

My day starts with a quick look at my phone, it is 5:00 in the morning my back is cramping and I need to be turned on my side. I knock on the wall to get my mom’s attention. This wakes up my mom, and then she slowly makes her way to my room to help me turn on my side. Mom asks me, “Connor do you need to be turned?” I sleepily reply, “Yeah.” It is now 9:00 am and I need a shower. Mom walked into the house after having a stressful day at work to find that no chores have been done. she yelled my name once, twice, six times but I never came out. She places the tea on my bedside table and takes a seat on my bed. I sit up slightly and grab the tea offthe bedside table.

“Wake up Jane!” Jane’s mom yelled. Jane started to slowly open her eyes and she stretched her arms and legs out and jumped out of bed! She could smell the delicious smell of PANCAKES!!! She ran down the stairs and there was a stack of pancakes on a plate just for her!

Over and over again until finally I was so out of breath I almost couldn 't breathe! Then I realized, my room is a mess! So I did what most people would do when they need to clean fast. I got a broom and shoved all the clothes, toys, books ,magazine, and blanket under my bed. I just finished when " Ding Dong" the doorbell rang I raced to the door and sure enough there she was, Madison and her family I ran up to her and hugged her as tight as I could. "I can 't believe you 're really here. It 's so good to see you" Madison and I grabbed her bags and ran into my room I pulled the extra bed out of my closet and into the corner. "I got you a pink and blue lava lamp for your birthday. It is in the window next to you" I say as she starts to put her things away. "Wow that is so cool! Thanks so much!" AAAHHHH!! That morning started like any other, my small obnoxious mutt of a dog licking my face like it was its job. I saw a bright and youthful sun, like the old one retired and this one took its place, warm and new. I wasn’t mad this time, I laughed and played with her a few minutes before running upstairs for breakfast. On my way up the stairs I could hear the small birds chirping songs of joy, right before I heard my mom yell, “Oh no, something wicked this way comes!” I swear she loves me, but I quietly shot back with a, “good morning to you too.” I shot pancakes into my throat, I felt like I hadn’t eaten in ages, the hunger rose inside of me like a demon. After I ate, I felt like I had a ton of cement in my stomach, I swore to my mom I would never eat again, but of course I did. That morning my mom and I sat at the table talking about our days so far. My mom and I talked about what I would do that day, “I really don’t know,” I lied as we talked. I knew that today would be a good day I just didn’t know how good it really would be.

So I went into my mom's room slowly cause I didn’t want to get in trouble. I walked up to her bed and I looked at her afraid to say anything, I poked her, hoping that would wake her up, but it didn’t. I knew I had to tell her. “Mom?...Mom?” I said waiting for her to wake up. I had to say mom a couple more times before she actually woke up. Once she finally woke up I told her “I opened the bird cage and one of the birds got out.” Her sleepy eyes began to widen, she brushed the tangled black hair out of her face, and she stood up without saying a word and she walked to the room with all the birds. She walked in and saw the bird flying around the room. “This is why you can’t open the cage!” she yelled. “I’m sorry mom,” I said. After a while she caught the bird and put it in its cage. Needless to say she was mad at me.

your pancakes are getting cold. So i hurried into the house and mother asked me what took so long, i said to her, “i was just taking care of my animals”. “Ok, your father is in the living room watching football, and i have to go to work, see you guys later” moms says.
