Trey planned a suprise for Megan when she returned home from her spring break cruise to Mexico. He popped the question on her family's farm under a big oak tree. Megan said YES! They celebrated with friends that evening with a champagne toast. The next day their families had dinner together as they began the wedding planning
Professor Richard Lewotin said “An ecosystem, you can always intervene and change something in it, but there is no way of knowing what all the downstream effects will be or how it will affect the environment.” Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are not healthy and they shouldn’t be put in our food. Our nation does not know the full extent of GMOs. GMOs are used in almost all of our food, and for the most part there are no regulations for these GMOs that food companies are using now a days. They have been used for years without telling us the full background and side effects they could have. As a nation we need to take the right step in learning the facts about them and making our food truly healthy. GMOs should be made illegal due to the fact that studies have shown them to be unsafe and harmful to consume.
Waving goodbye from the backseat of the car, as we pull out of my parent’s driveway. Looking out the window at the oddly, white shaped clouds. Thinking, I had never been away from my parents and my younger sister for so long, even though it was only for two weeks. I was excited and scared all at once, but I wasn’t too thrilled about the whole 29-hour drive there. Hoping that the trip would go well and nothing bad will happen to us.
It's been eight years. Eight years. Held captive against my will. I'm beginning to believe that I'll also die here.
It was the day we were leaving for Florida for a U16 soccer tournament in West Palm Beach, July 2nd to be precise. A drive to Florida from where we live takes around 18 hours. We finished supper at 5:30, completed packing, and were on the road at 6:30. We were traveling south on Interstate 83. Nothing much to see as we were driving down the highway. A few trees here and there, and a wide variety of fields that were thriving with crops.
Last summer before school started my sister and I were told that we were going on a trip to Ute Lake in New Mexico. We had never been to New Mexico before, so we were super excited. We were told that we were taking my dad's cousin's jet ski with us. My sister and I could not wait to go to New Mexico.
It was the last day of my trip, and while I was washing plates in my grandmother’s house, the sunlight was reflected on the plates to my eyes. The fear going through my veins, my mind confused with everything that have happened two weeks ago. Uncertainty of what event would destroy or rebuild my heart. What would happen next ?. The future is unpredictable, so far that is a concept that now I understand. Considering the time spent in my country Colombia , vacations, friends, and parties were the words that stay on my mind for the first two weeks, otherwise the next two weeks were not what I planned. Firstable I was not supposed to be there for these last two weeks, but I am grateful. “No puedes viajar hoy” were the words asserted by the airline
My whole family and I were devastated by the sudden death of my uncle Ryan. He had been sick with what we had thought was the flu, but later realized that it was pneumonia. I believe that we learned so much from this experience and were able to come closer as a family. As a result of my uncle’s death, my whole family decided to take a get-a-way trip to the Dominican Republic during his birthday and Christmas. While I was there I learned a very important lesson; I am blessed to live in the United States.
The urge to type one more sentence was overwhelming. I could never finish the last few chapters. My inspiration slipped through my fingers like a breeze blowing through the leaves of a tree. After the crash, my focus disappeared and so did my brother. His death affected everyone in our small town we called home. He was the star quarterback at the high school, the family favorite, the smartest in his class, but besides that he was my best friend. My parents were devastated that he wasn’t there so they decided to move all the way from Hawaii to a small town in Florida close to the beach with my aunt Bailey, without me. Aunt Bailey was always the adventurer. I believe that’s where Cody and I got it from. Our parents made it pretty obvious that
We had been waiting for this trip for years. Every 5 years we go on a trip to someplace fun. When five years passed after our trip to disneyland we were all waiting to go on some other adventure. I had done this twice, but 2 things about our trip this year were special.
Anderson, an Associate Professor of History at Ohio State University, presents a historical approach to the rise of Athens as a revolutionary experiment that came out of the historical context of Athens. He argues that Attica remodeled the way Athens governed which included a change to the political institutions and the thought of the civic environment. Anderson takes a heavily historical approach to the Rise of Athens, but still makes an important distinction that Athenian collective identity would still be important and that a social organization can still be effective even if it is created by a legal environment. The chapters in which he focuses on Athenian expression of collective identity will play a role in my analysis of a legal framework
I went to Burger King with three friends. We walked a long way then I
The song Beautiful Trauma written by Pink is about her love for life. She wants people to be loving and caring towards each other. She knows that there are going to be some people that are not going to follow this. When she is happy she feels like nothing can ruining it until she finds someone that destroys her. The song Beautiful Trauma by Pink is about love and reveals how love can be difficult.
Trying to find memories is like looking for treasure. You look at the surface and see something mediocre, but you dig deep and find something cool, pretty, and meaningful. It took a while to think of a fond memory, but once I thought of some, it was hard to choose a favorite. Growing up I have had many great experiences in the form of vacations. Between going to Disney World, owning a vacation home, hanging out with my grandparents in Arizona, traveling to Canada and more. They all make amazing memories that I will forever cherish. The vacation spot we go to the most, though, is Wisconsin Dells. A few times I have been allowed to invite friends to come with. When I am allowed to bring friends, it is always a ginormous amount of fun. We goof off in the hotel room, play in the arcades, and swim in the water parks.
Like it was yesterday I remember my first vacation on a cruise. My Dad and I went on a three- day long cruise to The Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise, so it was a new experience for me. We needed to be in Tampa for our departure, so we drove the two hours from Orlando, Florida to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My Dad and I used this time to talk, make plans for the trip and think about our upcoming adventures on the cruise.
As my eyes lit up like the fourth of July, I stood with my feet stuck to the ground, and my nerves tingle with happiness because of how marvelous it was. I didn't know a Mexico resort could be so nice.
