Personal Narrative Essay : My Flight To India

I woke up to the sound of my mom calling my name and shaking me. Looking at the time I see (SAW) that it is four o’clock in the morning. Sighing, I look around to see the house in complete darkness aside from the dim light coming from the hall. Knowing our flight to India is in two hours, I slowly make my way out of bed and start to get ready. Sitting down at the breakfast table I see my brother and sister getting their breakfast, while my mom and dad are gathering our luggage we packed two days ago. Once we are done eating breakfast, we load up the car and make our way to the airport.
Arriving at Sky Harbor International Airport, my family and I board our first plane to Los Angeles International Airport. Once we get off our plane, we are boarding another one in Korea. From Korea, my family boards our third and final plane to Mumbai. After landing in Mumbai, I take a look at my surroundings as we walked through the airport. Everything is different from what I am used to. The time zone is a huge difference; India is 12 hours and 30 minutes ahead of the time in Arizona. Even the air has a distinct smell lingering in the air. A couple minutes later my uncle arrives and takes us to his house. After my family finished getting unpacked and settled in, we go out and spend time with our older cousins.
We stayed in India for about a month, and each day we would learn something new. My brother, sister, and I were able to learn more about our parents past when they lived in India
