Once upon a time there was a simple man named tsunami who worked in his bait shop off the coast of Greece. A lot of people came in and out of his shop everyday as there was a river behind his shop along with the ocean coast. Most people would go fishing right outside of his shop. Everyday at the end of the day, Tsunami would throw any waste he would get throughout the day whether it was the odds and ends of the bait or if it was wrapper from a burger. Poseidon snuck up to Tsunami’s house very carefully and when nobody was looking, he ate his house. Poseidon thought that what he did might have been too cruel, so he left a talking whale in it’s place. When Tsunami got home, the talking whale got his attention. The wwhale explained everything that happened. Tsunami was furious. In a pit of rage, Tsunami slaughtered the whale and ate all of the meat. He then dragged the dead carcass to the ocean and pushed it in. Poseidon saw this and thought of a new plan to get rid of Tsunami for good. He took all of his anger at Tsunami and generated it into a series of massive waves and sent them towards his bait shop. Wave after wave crashed upon the bait shop until all that was left was rubble. What Poseidon didn’t know was that Tsunami was in the bait shop, which made the victory sweeter. Poseidon named this new natural disaster Tsunami in spite of the man that tried to ruin the ocean’s

“About Poseidon, a great god, I begin to sing, the shaker of the earth and of the barren sea” (Morford, Lenardon, and Sham, 171). Poseidon in Greek Mythology, or Neptune in Roman Mythology, is the God of the Earthquakes and of the Seas. He is known for his “severe and rough” nature and is associated with “the surge of the seas” (Morford, Lenardon, and Sham, 171). Poseidon is often underrepresented in myth but his role is pivotal due to the fact that he ruled the earth and the seas. Travel via the sea was essential in the spreading of culture during this time period and worship to Poseidon played an important role.

In 1970, a man by the name of John Crowe was a diver and he would go out and capture baby killer whales for Sea Land theme park, which is now Sea World. To capture the whales, they used speedboats, bombs, aircraft, and nets. He explained how the whales knew they were being captured so the pods would separate the moms and babies together and males would go in a different direction. The aircrafts could see where the mom and babies were so the speedboats were directed that way. John explained how when they captured a baby the moms and the other whales would stick around the boats crying and communicating back and forth. He starts crying while saying he felt like he was kidnapping, and that he did not realize what he was doing was wrong until that

Jose Salvador ALvarenga, a 37-year-old man who loves fishing, customarily made a trip out into the Pacific Ocean on November 18,2012 at 10:00 in the morning. Jose and his friend Ezequiel headed out into the sea. Everything was just fine as they got 75 miles away from land. Salvador let out his fishing pole to try to catch some fish; by then a storm was coming. Jose was being hard headed because as was packing he knew the storm was coming. “Alvarenga had been warned that a storm was coming, but there was little that would keep
Poseidon got in a fight with 12 huge sharks, but Poseidon got too cocky and tried to fight them with his bare hands. It was no problem for him. When Poseidon got back to Mount Olympus, he realized his Trident is disappeared. He looked everywhere in his room for it, but it was gone. He quickly checked back at the ocean he fought in but he couldn't find it, but he noticed there were more sharks at that spot. Next, the results of the citizens’ behavior were acts of justice. Zeus, the god of gods, saw this mischief and roared out his anger. Poseidon woke up at the sound of this to look up the sea and find out at his once-perfect kingdom had been wiped with evil. Poseidon wept and his law was broken, so he carried out his terrible curse as he had no other choice, as a result of the citizens’ behavior. One day Zeus was sitting on his throne enjoying life and also worrying about everything. Poseidon burst in urgently. He said that all of the seas have dried up and people were dying. He explained to Zeus that since Zeus was the King of the Gods he was the only one who could fill them up. Zeus did not know what to think of this appeal so he thought of something. He finally got back to Poseidon later that day and told him he needs to keep his worth. He told Poseidon that he will need to go through 5 different competitions with other gods and goddesses. Tsunami is a Japanese term meaning, "harbour wave". Large waves produced by an earthquake can affect nearby coastal areas in minutes. Tsunamis can also travel thousands of kilometers across the ocean and cause mass destruction on far shores hours after the earthquake created them. Most tsunami are caused by large earthquakes on the seafloor when rock move past each other suddenly, causing the overlying water to move. Tsunamis happen when slabs of rock move past each other suddenly, causing the water on top to move. The resulting is severe waves moving away from the earthquake.
