Have you ever felt so nervous in your life that your mind ached with anxiety. It was the final race in my seventh grade track season, but little did I know my anxiety became the least of my worries.
On 08/04/16 at 8:42pm, I was dispatched to 2087 S. Hamilton Rd, on a injury dangerous or vicious dog/injured dog, serious injury, involving a Columbus Police Officer (CPD) being bit by a dog and shooting dog. I arrived at the location. I was advised my CPD personnel that
On March 4th, 2018, I, Officer Albert, was working as a Police Officer for the Wichita State University Police Department. At approximately 0150 hours I was dispatched to Shocker Hall for a suspicious character report. The suspicious character was a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt riding a skateboard.
At the time, the source said "He's always expressing [to the women] that sex is important to him. It comes off as sleazy!" At this point, it is obvious Nick still has a lot of girls that are sticking around and interested in
In The Giver, humanity has suppressed individuality to prevent and stop the “mistakes” of the past. The movie centers around a young man named Jonas, who he has been chosen to, bear the community’s most important responsibility as the next “receiver” of memories. But as he begins to spend time with “The Giver”, who is the sole keeper of all the community’s memories, Jonas begins to very swiftly realize the truth of his community’s secret past and what it means to truly be human. He’s faced with a possibly dangerous choice to either accept his community’s solidarity or free his friends and family from total blissful ignorance. In The Giver, Jonas decides to escape from his community because he wants his community to understand what being human is truly about. The movie argues that being an individual is pleasurable because it allows one to be able to express himself by reacting to beauty, experiencing pleasure and pain, and enjoying memories.
My freshman year if high school I took a theater class. One day while in this class my teacher, Ms. Jonas, came up to me and asked me a question that would change my entire high school experience. She asked, “Do you want to audition for one act play?” By asking that question she got me involved in high school theatre which entirely changed me as a person. Joining theater helped me gain confidence, become a better leader, and find what I want to do for the rest of my life.
A few years ago cheerleading was a huge part of my life. I was on two competitive teams that worked hard three days a week to perfect our routines. When we were not practicing we were encouraged to attend open gyms which were aimed at practicing our tumbling skills. I attended the open gym being held one day not knowing that it would be my last. As I landed a one handed cartwheel my knee was twisted so drastically that I heard a loud pop that followed up with intense pain. After icing it and resting for a few days, I started to interpret my pain as being more serious due to the fact that it was giving out on me while doing daily tasks. I also had two close friends that had torn ligaments in their knees that needed repaired with surgery, so
The book,”The Giver, by Lois Lowry, is about a young boy named Jonas, who lives with people, that can't see or feel color and emotions. Why can't they experience it? This is due to their government believing color and emotions are what prevent a "perfect utopia". In the book, it states, “They can’t help it. They know nothing. ...It’s the life they live. The one that was created for them.” Jonas, on the other hand, believes that there is a different lifestyle. One that's full of life and joy. The key term can be identified as the Importance of Identity.
Tweet! “Everybody bring it in!” The Head Coach Yelled. Game time, I told myself. The coach starting explaining how tryouts worked. I wasn't really paying attention that much, all I got was that our first drill was passing. Passing wasn't my best area, but I could manage I think,
This summer, I took a shopping trip to target for a late night snack attack. Before checking out at the cashier stand, I strolled through the one dollar spot. If there’s anything I’ve gained from my mother, it's to never ignore a good deal. It was mainly cheap plastic toys for kids but, yet something caught my eye. A Dr. Seuss section, filled with little metal lunch boxes, pencil pouches, sippy cups, and pencils. From Green eggs with ham to One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish. I immediately started sifting through these goodies. Dr. Seuss had been the foundation to my reading journey. Reading all his books since I was six. For Dr. Seuss to fit into my epiphany moment, let me give you a brief but important background to me, Belinda Coronado.
“Hey Dad I’m off to work” I yelled as I raced out the door to my first day at my new job. The local soccer academy hired me to work twice a week after hours to clean their building. Having witnessed my lack of cleaning skills for 16 years my dad looked shocked. For years I had been getting yelled at and called back out to “finish my job properly.” I would often leave crumbs all over the counters or left over food in the sink after being asked to clean the kitchen after dinner, or sometimes I wouldn’t pick up all the fallen sticks in the front lawn before I had to mow it, Determined to change my dad’s belief, I hopped in my car and drove off to work.
Personal Narrative I was bruised, bitten, and banged up, and I loved it. The weekend had completely made my summer and filled in a part of my personality that I never knew existed. My king salmon fishing trip taught me perseverance, trust, tolerance, and that it is not always the trophy,
As I walk off the plane and onto the lot, all I see is beauty. “I’m so glad you guys are finally here to see Italy,” my mother says with excitement. Of course, I was so overjoyed when I arrived, all I thought about was visiting Virginia (my Nonna’s cousin).
Personal Narrative I am writing about an event which happened in my life that I would never forget. It was when Christ Church School took us all to Chessington World of Adventures for an end of Y9 trip. I don't remember the exact date seeing as this was two years ago, but I remember all the main events and important goings on. It all started when I woke up for school, normal time, in my normal routine, although I didn't pack any books or put on my school uniform. I went straight into the bathroom, had a wash, brushed my teeth and went back into my room to dress. We were obviously allowed to ware our casual clothes, so I slipped on some trousers and a shirt and went down stairs. I got to the bus stop and stood there waiting for a good five minuets. Then the 134 arrived. I got on, showed my pass to the bus driver and
It was one life-changing experience I was seven years old when I became grateful for the things that I had. I remember packing for this big trip my parents were planning for a year now. I precisely recall my mother telling me to go through my closet and pick clothes I did not use to give away, I didn't know why, but I didn't ask, I just did it. As the day got closer I remember my parents had accumulated a great amount of things to give away. I quite didn't understand why they were gathering so many things and for what reason.
