Toronto airport isn’t my favourite place. Especially on christmas day of all days. Most people are spending it with their families or going away with their families, but not me. I am currently waiting by myself in this huge airport that is filled with way too many people. I was headed to England by myself at 16. Keep in mind, I technically wasn’t going to be in England alone, I was just flying alone. My best friend and her family live there. You are probably thinking why on earth are you best friends with someone in England if you live in Canada. Ah, well let me tell you. It’s not a long story, I promise. Beth, that's my best friend. If you didn’t put two and two together there. She moved to Canada from England when she was about 7 and then in grade 10 her and her family moved back to England. See I told you the story wasn’t long. I’m just trying to pass time in this airport. My flights at 10pm, ya crazy I know. The thing I didn’t think about before I traveled was the effect the time zone change would have on me. We arrived at the airport and I felt like a sheep being lead through a maze. We tried to quickly find our luggage, clear the passport control point, and hail a taxi, while working on only a few hours of sleep. I understood why my parents wanted an English-speaking country to be my first overseas experience because I couldn’t imagine dealing with speaking another language while we were working on only a few hours of sleep. It caused a haze in my head that made
I went to Orlando, Florida. First we got lunch at the airport then we got ready for our plane to leave. Then we got on the plane after half an hour of sitting and waiting. Finally after a long plane ride we were in Florida. After we got our bag we went across the street to get our rental car.
New York is a state where there are big lights and lots of people and busy streets. I live in Brooklyn, New York and I was born here and I have lived here all my life. Personally, where I live I can walk to go get groceries that I need and everything is in walking distance. I take the public subway or the bus to get to school and there are many public schools here in Brooklyn, New York. There are delis and corner stores almost around every block. Here in Brooklyn, it is very noisy and busy. I am so used to the noise that I can sleep soundly even with all the noise that surrounds my house. Personally, I think that if I were not born here or was not a New Yorker, I would plan to move here when I get older.
On Thursday 12/01/16 at 2236 hours I was dispatched to Terminal Park Elementary School located at 1101 D ST SE because four juveniles had knocked over a donation bin and were throwing rocks at the school (reference AP160088033). Dispatch advised it was possibly related to two other malicious mischief calls that had just previously occurred in the nearby area.
One sunny, hot afternoon at switchback mx in Orlando, Florida I was preparing get two rookie supercross riders here train. I was getting very nervous that adam cianciarulo, and ryan lojack would not be here on time to train. I stepped out of the van and smelled the 2-strokes, and heard the roaring bikes. Then finally Adam and Ryan finally showed up! Ricky Carmichael and Ryan Villopoto and I told them to go get ready, because we had a lot of work to do today. Ryan, and Adam went to work on the track battling it out, when I waved them in.
Where I come from it's taking pride in your yard, knowing every single one of your neighbors, and leaving doors unlocked because there isn’t a thing to worry about. I find comfort in that small town feel, and I am more than proud to be from good ol’ Warrenton, Indiana. Here, we are just a wee bit shy of being big enough to be on a map, but we have a name and we have town lines. Within those lines nearly two hundred people have found a home, and thanks to Mr.Dave Gruible our community is steadily flourishing. There are now three subdivisions on the rise in addition to the church, salon, family restaurant, and campgrounds that nestled into the area years ago.
It was the day we were leaving for Florida for a U16 soccer tournament in West Palm Beach, July 2nd to be precise. A drive to Florida from where we live takes around 18 hours. We finished supper at 5:30, completed packing, and were on the road at 6:30. We were traveling south on Interstate 83. Nothing much to see as we were driving down the highway. A few trees here and there, and a wide variety of fields that were thriving with crops.
Have you ever seen the TV show the “Walton’s?” If you have, then you will definitely be able to identify how unique the place was where I was raised. I was raised in North Arkansas in a small community called Onia. In fact, the road that I lived on was called Lawrence Road. It was named this because all of my relatives lived down this road. My Grandpa, who is now a retired Baptist preacher, lived down this road along with his brothers and sisters. The church that I grew up going to was also pastored by my grandfather for over thirty years and it was about two miles down the road. The community bordered the Ozark National Forest so it was very rural and isolated. Most of the traffic on Lawrence Road was mainly the people who lived

When a typical person considers taking a vacation, they do not immediately consider Windsor, but the city has plenty to offer such as the WFCU Centre, Canadian Historical Aircraft Museum, and Ojibway Nature Centre. The WFCU Centre hosts fantastic entertainment acts and it also feature sports, music, and comedy performances; some acts that have performed at the centre include: Jerry Seinfeld, Neil Young, and the Windsor Spitfires. Not only does the city provide wonderful entertainment, Windsor is home to the Canadian Historical Aircraft Museum. One of the projects the members of the museum are working on is the restoration of two airplanes: a vintage Lancaster Bomber and Mosquito. Furthermore, pilots fly other antique aircraft and there is
It's been over five years since I have been home, to the north side of Chicago, I cannot believe it has changed so much in such a short time. The streets are filled with new buildings, new businesses, and so much snow. I don't remember the winters being this cold. Leaving Atlanta to go see my family in Chicago is a tough decision but I had to see my grandmother who is turning ninety years old this weekend and my family is throwing her a huge birthday party in Chinatown because my grand loves that culture and the food. I was supposed to meet the family right after I landed at O'Hare Airport. However, I needed to shower and change so I decided to check into the Peninsula Hotel, which I have always wanted to stay in, it is such a beautiful
In May I signed a security access form that had September 2nd written as my last day.
Imagine moving to a foreign out of the blue, and leaving everything you’ve ever known. I will show you my experience and how it contributed to my everyday life. I can’t thank God enough for giving my family the opportunity to live in a foreign country, but there were struggles along the way.
A social location that has affected my life is education. I chose education because I have always struggled with it throughout my middle school years. I was having tough time focusing in school. I was that child that never got awarded for anything. Instead I was always sitting at the principal’s office having meetings with teachers and my parents. Math and English weren’t my subjects I always a struggled with both, because I only grew up knowing one language which was Spanish, and Math I was never good with numbers. For not knowing good English I would get bullied and made fun of all the time. That I made me give up on school. By the time I was in sophomore in high school I was transferred to a charter school, because I need help with all the
Last summer, my family and I took a trip to New York City. We’ve visited this city about five years ago, but I didn't remember much since I was only eleven years old. This trip changed my mindset on life. I got to experience the unexplainable and took pictures that were priceless. This trip is definitely a trip to remember and will always be special to me.
“Kylee it’s time to get up!” Mom yelled as she was finishing getting ready. “We need to go to the airport!” It was in the moment I was so excited it was finally time, after waiting all those years to go to Las Vegas! I jumped out of bed unlike most mornings and my heart was filled with joy! I hurried to get ready and threw my bags in the car. We rushed to the the kennel to drop off my dog. I was really sad I hate leaving my dog at the kennel by herself. It makes me feel like a bad person, I wish we could bring her with us. I remembered that I was going to Las Vegas it made me feel alot happier. Then my family and I started heading to Cedar Rapids. We got to the airport then parked our car. I walked in smelling all of the delicious food! I went to get breakfast and took a seat a little anxiously mostly because the only time I flew was when I went to Florida when I was 8. Until I heard, “142 flight to Las Vegas is boarding now.” I jumped clear out of my seat and rushed to the doors that were slowly opening to board the plane. I was sitting on the airplane watching my favorite movie “The Proposal” laughing all the way there. The lady announced on the speaker “All passengers please fasten your seat belts we are about to land in about 5 minutes. I was excited but I was scared for the landing my ears were popping in and out and as soon as I hit the ground I bounced out of my seat. After we landed I screamed, I was in Las Vegas! There were so many people there you wouldn't believe it. We went to grab our bags from the huge baggage claim and look for our limo driver. When we found her she greeted us and we took a picture in front of the limo. That was one of the best experiences of my life. I felt so happy and excited. I felt like a celebrity.
