I can say I’m the observing type when it comes to feedback, coaching and conflict. I have the tendency to listen very closely to whom
I’m listening to and if they need a decision from me, most likely I will tell them I will get back with them.
The reason for this is that I really meet to formulate my thoughts and utilize the correct words. My personality traits always influence my communication, coaching and conflict management style. I would like to improve my feedback skills. I have a disadvantage in this category.
Although I’m a great listener I can not answer quickly enough to the question intelligently enough. That is why I have to leave to gather my thoughts and words
After reading your response I realized I was not completely clear on my point of view. I have noticed this before and am working on trying to be clearer when writing. I also am trying to find a balance when giving details with my explanations. It is a find balance that I am still learning, in the past I have gone off topic because of my detail or long explanations. This is something that I am constantly working on and is not easy. However, when I receive feedback like this one it helps me find the part of my journal that I need to fine tune. I appreciate the time you took to read and give a meaningful response and not just tell me you agree. Yes, I do like people agree with me because I am only human. But when I receive a response like your,
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I remember a time when I had to collaborate with a group of co-workers. It was a group of six, as a group we needed to come up with “Helping Our Mortgage Customers Save Their Home”. We as a group had to develop different ways to assist customers in saving their home, even if that meant discussing ways to let the home go for sale. We as a team developed an identical objective by learning from each other, sharing ideas, and knowledge. However, we shared ideas on the steps to modify your home, and the various options that are available to each homeowner. We collaborated on government plans that were also available. In order for the collaboration to work, we as a team had to work together to schedule meeting
No, I didn’t interview my mentor teacher. The classroom is well-organized. Routines and rules are clear. Children know exactly what’s expected of them. I would prefer feedback while interacting with children. I did email Mrs. Joy and ask her. “What is the philosophy at your center”? The play is a child’s work. How do children learn best? Children learn through play. As children play, they learn to solve problems, to get along with others and to develop the fine gross motor skills needed to grow and learn. What are your guidance strategies? To insure the safety of each child and adult. Helping children feel important. And let children express and think through their problems and find their own solutions. Have you identified the children you
Do you believe that your role as a therapist will end at the end of the day or will it be present in your personal life also?
So let me try to understand how this works? So I hold up my end of a trade and provide the beers and extras that were agreed to and receive positive feedback for that. This person does not hold up his end of the agreement. He has more than a month to make things right but opts not to. I have no other option but to provide negative feedback since I had nothing positive to say about the experience.
The client was immobile and withdrawn during this session. She appears afraid to speak and held her child tightly in her arms. The client's eyes are swollen as she continues to cry. She is staring at the ground, as I approach to sit beside her on the bench. She held the baby even tighter as I begin to introduce myself. I continued to talk using a soft voice tone hoping this would make her feel more relaxed. Goals in this session were to make the client feel at eased and not to be tensed while trying to understand the reason for her tears. My asset in this session was being genuine and empathic.
History never changes, but the way we interpret it can. Born to a 19-year-old woman who had never lived outside of her small agricultural town and a 33-year-old Iranian soldier, I left Iran for the United States when I was five years old. My journey from a boy to a man is focused around five key decisions that would prove instrumental in writing my history.
Reflecting on my own task as the coacher, I felt myself dominating the conversation between myself and the learner, and providing solutions including a range of ways to approach them however, I feel I need to improve my coaching skills to encourage the learner to develop their own ideas further and identify their own solutions and overall responsible for their own learning. I felt this area highlighted the most significant challenges for me, and this is the area that I personally feel I need developing to improve my overall coaching skills. As a teacher I feel the guiding process would be more important to the leaner as it will allow them to improve their lifelong learning skills, ‘key to develop greater self-awareness’ and their ability to relate with others at different levels.
Every beginning had a charm of its own that makes it unique and unlike any other event that had happened in one's life. In my cause, my beginning in a journey to develop myself as a person and a leader started with the new and final school year as a high school student. As much as it was exciting as much as it was nerve racking. For the first time, I was to become a mentor for a group of people I barely knew anything about. To furthermore my anxiety I was quickly faced with my first challenge which included much of unfortunate luck that was working alone. Upon receiving the news that I was the only mentor for that specific class, I became uneasy. I’ve accepted the offer for becoming a mentor knowing that I’ll be surrounded by a group of people
Although since the start of the course I have made alot of improvement with communication, one of the things that I still struggle with is being nervous. This is extremely frustrating for me because it seems like no matter how much I try not to overthink, and approach a situation with confidence my nerves get the best of me and I start to become embarrassed and frustrated with my inability to effectively articulate myself in social situations.
Being able to work with individuals that differ from me culturally, ethnically, and religiously is a trait that I pride myself in having obtained at a young age. I developed this trait through my unique childhood in which I lived in three vastly different states, Michigan, Hawaii, and Arizona. While living in these states I interacted with a diverse group of cultures, from Samoan and Filipino in Hawaii to Native American and Hispanic in Arizona. Being exposed to diverse surroundings at a young age allowed me the opportunity to work with others that differed from me throughout my school years. This opportunity to delve into a diverse atmosphere at such a young age allowed me to develop this trait sooner than many of my peers.
A leader is someone that believes in their vision as well as those they entrust to assist in the fulfillment of their vision. A good leader knows they cannot accomplish their goals alone and therefore are always developing others by equipping them to be leaders as well. My choice for leadership coaching is a gentleman who works at the hospital where my Aunt is a Registered Nurse. This gentleman has been a manager for their Critical Care Unit also known as Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for many years and holds a master degree, but he has recently been promoted to a leadership position as Hospital Administrator. This position is responsible for hiring, evaluating, recruiting and leading specialist doctors and nurses as well as consultant anesthetists,
I intend to greatly improve my performance for the second part of the semester for English 1101. A major piece of scholarly achievement is having the right attitude. If a person believe they can succeed they will succeed. When a person think them going to fail they are going to fail. The changes I will make to improve my performs is to know what the professor is looking for in a paper, take better notes, and improve my study
That brings me to my weaknesses in communicating with others. Although I maintain great eye contact, my mind tends to wonder if a person is talking for a lengthy period of time. I often think about my grocery list or upcoming projects. Another weakness relates to my email style when relaying a message to others. I have a tendency to convey a message without including all important facts first time around. This is often results in having to provide separate follow up messages, which
