The loss of a pet is a very challenging time. My family and I had a chocolate lab named Hershey. He died when I was four years old. It was hard to lose him even though I only knew him for four years. Waiting a year and a half was hard, but when we got a new dog it was very exciting. Having a pet has the good and bad times. When I was born, we had a chocolate lab named Hershey. He was named Hershey because he was the same color as a Hershey's chocolate bar. My parents got him when he was four or five years old from people who could not take care of him. He died when I was in 4-k so I was about four years old. It was a very sad time after he died because we did not get another dog right away. We waited about a year and then started to look …show more content…
She was a lot of fun to play with and she was very energetic. We did not get her that day, but the employees told us that the dog we were interested in was going to be at Petsmart the next day. We went to Petsmart and we were going to make the final decision if we were going to get her. My sister and I really wanted her but my dad was hesitant about the idea of getting her. He did not know if we were ready for another dog. My sister and I really wanted her so we exclaimed “ we will do everything to take care of the dog!”
Finally, after hearing from the vet that the dog would be a good fit for our family, my dad exclaimed “we can get her!” My sister and I were so excited to get the dog. We did not bring her home right away because we had to get stuff like a dog bed and the other necessities first. Once we picked up all of the stuff we needed, we brought her home. Her original name was Sarah Jane but we did not like that name so on the way home we were thinking of a new name for her. One of the first name suggested was Allie and we all agreed on
In 2008, I spent the summer with my Uncle, Aunt and 2 cousins in Missouri. They picked me up at the airport, and the car ride was filled with discussion about a puppy they had just gotten 2 days prior. It was explained that my cousins wanted a dog since their friends’ family had gotten a dog recently. My Uncle, happy to oblige, stopped at a neighbor’s house one day, who was giving away puppies they could not care for, as is common in small town America. He picked out the cutest one and went on his way. The family was so happy to have “Roxy” in their home and on their farm.
Despite my objections, we visited a breeder who had a litter of Golden Retriever puppies. We chose one during that visit, and we named her Karma. All summer, my sister and I had to
I got my very first animal in September of 2009. It was a dog and we named him Buddy. I walking into shelter trying to find the right dog to bring home. I was so excited to get my first dog! Thinking which one is going to be the one. When we walked in all we could here was barking. Walking by cages of cute puppies, then we found just the right one, Buddy!
And on our way home, she almost peed in the backseat of the car because she was so scared. However, when we finally got home, she was overjoyed that she finally had a good home where she would be loved forever. Not only by six humans, but by three other animals including, two cats and one other dog named bella, tiger, my two cats, and libby, the other dog. She had to go right into the backyard because we were worried about how she would act around the other animals. But when she smelled Libby’s breath on the toys she busted through the screen door and she licked all of the animals until they looked like they swam in a pool.
Then we got Rex.. well he was a retired cop dog and I could literally ride him around. He lasted about 5 months then someone stole him. Then we got George Regan, well this dog was so stupid he'd pee on you every time you pet him. He ended up biting someone on dogwood.. I have no clue how he got that far or why.. but the peoples daughter he bit kept him.. or perhaps they killed him and didnt tell me? Well then we got Jack, he was a jack russel looked just like wishbone. I went to work with mom for some reason, and one of her coworkers had him on a leash out front, well I asked if I could pet him and she said of course he's yours! That was a surprise and sweet gift from the Barbara. We had him probably 7 years, he ate her peper spray once and went blind he sill could jump up to your neck. So we took him everywhere he was my best buddy. He was the only one she'd let me keep in the house ( 50% of the time). Then her and amanda backed over him on christmas eve one year (I might have already told you this) I was out at lavanias with the village and here comes amanda in crying, she throws off her wig
About two years ago my sister had taken in a dog named Morgan. At first I didn’t exactly agree with this because she already had a dog that she hardly took care of. When my sister brought Morgan home she was about two months old. I could still hold her in on had. And as I spent more time with her, she became my baby.
My most memorable pet is my old dog hitch who died from bone cancer last year on my birthday. Lovable Hitch was a good dog If you were happy he was happy. When we noticed he had cancer, he could not walk on his one back leg. We were going to have surgery to remove the cancer but his body was not strong enough to go through the surgery so it was a matter of time till he died said the vet. A month later we were going to have Hitch put down because he was suffering. Hitches heart was still full of love and adrenaline like a very loved dog would but it was a real struggle for him to even move. (Hitch was a golden Doodle). But...
Two years ago, I adopted a dog. Barkley was a gift for my daughter, but he has become a big part of my life as well. Barkley is a long-haired chihuahua, just under 9 pounds. Even though he is small, he has stolen a big part of my heart. Having this little dog in the house has filled my life with companionship, unconditional love, and gives my daughter and me something to bond over.
I wanted another friend to hang out with, since my brother got boring sometimes, so I talked my family into getting a dog. We looked at our local pet shelter. Right when I walked in I walked over to a dachshund (She was the quietest dog in the shelter… little did my family know *eye roll). A week later the dachshund was home with the new name Libby (Thinking back on it, we should have named her Cleopatra since she looks like someone applied heavy eyeliner all over her eyes). Libby definitely tricked us with her shy personality at the pound. She is a force to be reckoned with, but I love her. Libby has little dog syndrome. She picks fights with the biggest and baddest, semi trucks. The tiny beast also finds it necessary to escort out all of our visitors to our property line (She runs on the side of the road barking until after the car passes the property line. My family is still not sure how she knows where our property line is… but she has mastered it). Do not get me wrong, Libby is a lover, and clingy lover at that. Every night I fall asleep she has always burrowed under the covers right next to my feet. My little fighter has taught me to stand my ground, no matter how tough the opponent is. This has helped me become successful in many of my academics and athletics in high school. This lesson will also be very
I named the german shepherd Duke! We did absolutely everything together. There was never a dull moment. We would wrestle, run, and take long walks in the park. The dog never left my side unless I was going to school. Then my parents would have to put him on a chain or he would run after the bus!

As I child my first dog at age 3 was a female Doberman pinscher. I played with her since I am an only child. She was my only friend. My parents and I named her Corazon which means heart. She was very friendly, playful, active, loving, affectionate, loyal, intelligent, good temperament and guard dog, very over protective of her family, especially me as a child. As for
I have had a lot of animals in my past. Almost too many to count…. but I am going to anyway. My first pet was my puppy Vegas, she was a golden retriever and definitely was a puppy. Puppy’s tear things up and just mess everything up, especially her. She was a bad puppy and I was only 5 when we got her, but we live out in the country and so cars go really fast past our house and we had her for about three months and then all the sudden I got home from dance pretty late at night and I was already tired, and I kept calling her and she was not coming and since I was 5 my first thought was she was mad at me and then I went to ask my dad to see if he knew but he said she got hit by a car and died. I cried a lot that that night but I got over it when
My dog's name is Hershey. He is a pit bull and he is one years old now. Hershey loves my mom the most. He loves to sleep when
My first dog was named Toby, he was a very white, ball of fluff. He blended in with the shiny white crispy snow on December 25, 2006. My sisters and I were on our way home from my dad’s house when all of a sudden we pulled into my mom’s house. On Sunday, December 25, 2006, Toby was waiting at our house. We all got out of the car on that cold snowy day and walked on the slippery sidewalk. The snow was like a chilling carpet on the bottoms of our feet. My mom opened the door with a camera so my sisters and I knew something was up. A shocking step in the house and we saw a very fluffy dog, we were very excited. He was like a deer in headlights. There was a bunch of screaming and yelling going on at that moment between the three of us. We
