On 05/31/17, at 4:36pm, I was dispatched to the area of Noe Bixby Rd and Sedalia Ave on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and drove around. As I was driving north bound on Noe Bixby Rd when I was flagged down by the caller that originated the call. I pulled over and exited by vehicle. The complainant stated the dog was running loose in the area; she was able to capture the dog (medium mix black/white) and wait until I arrived. I had the complainant completed an animal release form. I place the dog in my vehicle; the dog had no identifying markers indicating ownership. As I was in the process of putting information into our database (Shelter Buddy) Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) Dispatcher B. Grotsky collected dog owner information and added to the original call. At approximately 5:00pm, I drove to 3341 Faycrest and spoke to a unknown male occupant of the house. The unknown male occupant stated that his wife owns the dog and she’s currently at work. I explained that if he accepts violations for the dog that I would return to the dog to him. He stated that he would rather wait until his wife gets home. I return to the above listed at approximately 6:09pm, to talk to dog owner Ashely Wagner. I spoke to Ms. Wagner; I asked if her dog Sparky was current on dog license and vaccinations, she stated he was on vaccinations but not on dog license. I asked to see Ms. Wagner Identification, she complied. I issued Ms. Wagner a violation for failure to license her dog. I released Sparky to Ms.
On 05/08/16 at 2:47pm, I was dispatched to 5064 Blue Meadow Court, on an injury-possible dangerous or vicious dog, owner known, animal confined. I arrived at the house and spoke to victim Xavier Holston-Sims. Mr. Holston-Sims stated that he was riding his bike from the corner store on Cleveland Ave, when a dog came out and bite him on his left leg. I took a victim statement from Mr. Holston-Sims stating those facts. I then want to 4975 Cleveland Ave and spoke to dog owner Lisha Entingh. Ms. Entingh stated that she was not outside when the incident happen, but that her friend was walking the dog on a leash in her yard when the dog pulled away and bite the victim. On 08/26/16 at 1:48pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was patrolling the 900 Block of Heyl Ave when I saw a black and white Chihuahua running loose with no known dog owner around. I followed the dog to 969 Heyl Ave where dog owner Donna Hanes open the door and let the dog inside. Ms. Hanes stated that the dog must have gotten loose when it was in the back yard. I asked Ms. Hanes if her dog was current on dog license and vaccinations, Ms. Hanes stated he was not. I issued Ms. Hanes violations for failure to license and failure to vaccinate her dog name Tito.
On 05/29/16 at 8:00pm, I was dispatched to 2142 Balford Square East on injury-possible dangers or vicious dog and owner surrender. I arrived at the house and spoke to dog owner Delane Murrell Jr. Mr. Murrell stated that his son was standing in the kitchen when their dog came in the house from the back yard and attacked his son. Mr. Murrell wrote out a statement of facts in regards to the incident. Mr. Murrell also stated that he wanted to surrender the dog. I took pictures of the injuries to Qimari Brown. Qimari has puncture wounds to his right thigh and to the right side of back. Mr. Murrell was unable to show proof of dog license. Mr. Murrell was issued violations for failure to license and failure to control a dangerous dog. Mr.
Ms. Washburn stated she was inside the house unpacking she had left the sliding glass door partially open, allowing her Scottish Terrier name Opie to get out. Ms. Washburn stated she heard Opie barking, that alerted her to come outside, where she realized Opie was not in the backyard. Ms. Washburn called and retrieve Opie. Ms. Washburn showed me proof that Opie was current on dog license/vaccinations. I explained to Ms. Washburn that a criminal complaint has been filed against her in regards to Opie being loose and biting someone. Ms. Washburn stated she understood. I asked Ms. Washburn for her identification, Ms. Washburn was unable to locate her identification. I collected Ms. Washburn personal information to have it verified by The Columbus Division of Police (CPD). I asked Ms.Washburn if I could get a picture of Opie, she complied. CPD Officers verified Ms. Washburn information. Ms. Wahsburn was issued the following violation: Ohio Revised Code (O.R.C) 955.22C(D)-Failure to control a dangerous dog. On 09/11/16 at 5:57pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 841 Crevis Lane on a possible nuisance dog; dog still at large, threat to safety. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant John Haywood. Mr. Haywood stated that he was going to his vehicle to put his daughter car set in when the neighbor’s dog came from behind him and started growling and barking at him. Mr. Haywood ran into the garage to get away. He contacted Franklin County Animal Care and Control due to the dog being previously designated dangerous. Mr. Haywood recorded the dog loose near his vehicle. I advised Mr. Haywood if he know if the dog was still loose, Mr. Haywood was unsure. I advised him I will need to check with the dog owners to make sure the dog has return home and I will return to talk to him.
On 07/14/16 at 7:07pm, I was dispatched to 1494 Cypresswood Court on a dog at large patrol only. I was arrived at the location and was flagged down by the complainant. The complainant stated the dog was running loose near Dublin Granville Road, her and her husband chase the dog in this general area to prevent the dog from getting hit by a car. The dog was in the backyard of 1494 Cypresswood Court. I enter the backyard and was able to place a leash on the dog. I place the dog in my van. Dog owner Heather Davis reclaimed the dog on 07/15/2016. Ms. Davis was unable to show proof of dog license and vaccinations. I issued Ms. Davis violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control.
On 10/03/17, at approximately 7:35am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to the area of 5232 Freedom Ridge Drive on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw a pit bull (brown/white) matching the description of the dog running loose at the above listed address. I stopped my vehicle and proceeded to check the address where the dog was at. The pit bull was tied up at that location. At that moment a unknown female came outside and headed towards her car. I pulled up and asked if the pit bull belong to her. She stated that her son who resides at that location is holding the pit bull for a friend, but that the friend left without indicating what to do with the pit
On 11/22/16, at 4:02pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to the 600 block of Bedford Ave on dog at large patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw two dogs, one a small mix breed black and white and a tan and white pit bull, in the front of 681 Bedford Ave. I exited my vehicle and slowly approached the house. I knocked on the dog. Dog owner Robin Holmes-Muhammad answered the door. I asked if the two dogs on her porch belong to her, she stated that they did. I advised Ms. Holmes-Muhammad that we received a complaint that the dogs were running loose. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad apologized and took both dogs inside the house. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad stated that the tan/white pit bull does not really belong to her it was on her front porch
On 02/27/2017, I, Dillon Dickerson, badge #155, was working as a Patrol Officer for the Wichita State University Police Department (WSU PD), in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 2300 hours during our shift briefing second shift advised we may have to do some follow up to a case they had earlier in the shift. Officer Ben Gabel #152 was the one who took the case. Officer Gabel advised there was a Battery case which happened earlier in the day. This case involved two students. Officer Gabel said there may be a male student by the name of Mekeal Simmons making contact with WSU PD. Officer Gable stated the female half of the Battery (Jessica Johnson) would be leaving campus around 0130 hours to return to Texas. Officer Gabel advised he told the female half to call WSU PD and we would come out there to make sure she was safe while she packed up her items. Officer Gable also said he was in contact with Chief Sara Morris #113 and she was aware of the case. Officer Gable said if we do have contact with the male to get a statement from him and to contact the Captains or Chief.
On 10/21/2017, Deputy Warden W. Jones with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) investigated an injury-possible dangerous or vicious dog incident involving victim Linda Courson. Ms. Courson was walking her dog near 491 Townsend Ave when two Pit Bulls (Tan) came charging out of the above stated address and attack her dog. Ms. Courson sustained injuries during the incident from the two pit bulls knocking her over. Deputy Warden W. Jones collected a statement of facts from Ms. Couson. Deputy Warden W. Jones went to the above stated address and knocked on the door. He received no answer and left a door notice. Deputy Warden W. On 09/03/16 at 5:15pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3580 Whisper Creek Drive, on a dog on dog or cat attack, owner known. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Honora Wright. Ms. Wright stated that early that day, she was outside unloading her car. Ms. Wright dog was outside with her trying using the . Ms. Wright noticed two dogs unleashed near her house, she commanded her dog to go inside. As her dog was moving towards the house, a Mastiff and a Labrador mix came towards her dog. On 06/20/17 at 1:50pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was patrolling the 2100 Block of Lynbridge Drive when I saw a brindle/white pit bull running loose in the area. I took pictures of the dog loose. I exited my vehicle and chase the pit bull to the backyard of a fence in house. I placed a leash on the pit bull and put her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying tags to indicate ownership. I transported the dog to the Franklin County Animal Shelter (FCACC). Dog owner Devon Gordon redeemed the dog on 06/24/17. Ms. Gordon did not show proof of dog license or vaccinations. I issued Ms. Gordon violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control her dog name Baby.
Ms. Garcia-Gantiago stated that her son and Jacob were climbing over the fence near the dog, when Jacob was bit. Ms. Garcia-Gantiago stated that their pit bull name Macky was tied up. I explained to Ms. Garcia-Gantiago that Ms. Collins has elected to not pursue charges against her in regards to the incident. Her issues is that they still have the pit bull when they advised her that they were getting rid of it. On 09/04/17, at approximately 8:27pm I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to 5841 Riverton Road, on a dog at large, known owner. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Bonnie Fisher. Ms. Fisher stated a dog residing 5833 Riverton Road is loose in the area. Ms. Fisher stated that this is not the first incident of the dog being loose. I drove to the above stated address, I knocked on the door and received no answer. I walked to the side of 5837 and 5833 Riverton Road, as I did a pit bull (brown/white) came from the backyard of 5833 Riverton Road towards me. The pit bull approached me off leash and off property. I utilized my snare pole to capture the pit bull, I guided the pit bull to my vehicle. Realizing the pit bull was not acting aggressively, I took off the snare pole and placed a leash around the pit bull. I returned to the backyard of 5833 Riverton Rd, and saw a terrier (brown/black) in a small cage. I did not see any current dog license on
At 12:52 p.m, I contact the BARC shelter and spoke with a supervisor, Laura Griffith, and she confirmed receipt of my email containing Carter 's veterinary records, photograph to identify the dog and proof of Chloe 's status as an out of state student. I next inquired about whether the shelter would reconsider requiring Carter to be altered in light of the conversation with Animal Control Officer Smith on January 14th. Officer Smith advised that the shelter supervisor had discretion over whether to alter an animal animal control. Ms. Griffith stated that BARC had contacted animal control earlier that morning, January 15, 2017, and spoken with Supervising Officer Howard who indicated that the dog must be altered.
