I don't know how I learn the fastest because I always have a hard time learning something new. I have a hard time remembering what I write down unless I just wrote something. I find it easier to learn things when something is written down. Visualizing does not help me at all. I try to work as fast as I can, but I work pretty slow in class because I have a hard time listening to what the teacher just says, and I also have a hard time trying to remember what the teacher just says. I do not like working with other people, I would much rather work alone because I don't like talking a lot with other people. My difficulties trying to listen and remember what the teacher is saying interferes with my learning. I speak spanish and english. I do not
In all honesty, I don't remember a lot about becoming literate. I didn't have a special moment or time when I knew that reading or writing going to take me somewhere. According to my mom she started to read to me when I was one, so there wasn't anything that could've excelled me much farther before going into kindergarten. One of the requirements in elementary school was to read every night which I believe was an important factor of me improving my literacy. Reading and writing used to me excite me because I would immerse myself into a book or write a whole new universe on a page. I made reading and writing something personal to me. I now realize that every book and every piece of writing can be worthwhile in one way or another.
No matter what millennium, century, or decade one looks at, one will be able to find at least one person with evil intentions for the world. These evil intentions may at first not be seen as evil intentions, but instead they may seem as if they are great ideas for the countries future. This was the case for Adolf Hitler who took advantage of his countries economical depression to rise to power. Leaders such as King Richard III have always had evil intentions because King Richard III wanted to take over the thrown by any means necessary. King Richard III and Adolf Hitler are two very similar leaders who ascended to the top of their respected countries.
Having to write about my own literacy is hard to do, first of all it’s hard to recall things that happened when you were a child let alone when I started to read and write, I remember going to school playing, the teacher reading to us, making vowel sounds and learning to write my name; I recall the teacher giving out the spelling list and taking it home to practice before Friday’s test, I would go to school hoping and praying that I would not misspell any words; as usual I missed a couple of words and I knew what that meant.
We all have little quirks that make us unique. These quirks can be funny, serious, a combination of both, or not any of that. Therefore, when it comes to letting others know about me I can be hesitant as some people already know. All I want is to be able to be me not have to fit in with the crowd. So, if I stand out, more than likely I am not very comfortable with things going on around me. This paper is going to let you know a little more about me as well as including three personal learning goals for this class and one goal to accomplish during the next eight weeks or so.
From my experiences, I have learned that effort and dedication are the key factors needed to gain magnificent literacy skills. Even though, I had to start from the bottom all over again, I was able to succeed in a new language. That’s why, I feel that it is extremely important to keep expanding our knowledge in order to develop our understanding, imagination and language. Although, I feel that I have improved my literacy throughout my 19 years, I know there is much more to learn.
In this class, I have learned many new skills to improve my writing, and I have also learned new grammar rules. In regards to my writing, I have learned the importance of freewriting when beginning to write a paper. Additionally, I now know to allow ample time for revising and editing because I can look at my work critically for mistakes and make necessary changes. Furthermore, I have learned about grammar rules such as pronoun-antecedent agreement. This rule is something that I know subconsciously, but being made aware of it has allowed me to find mistakes I make more often.
“Ah. The championship game,” I said to Grace, one of my best friends, during warm-ups for our biggest lacrosse game yet.
Physics has been both a challenging and deeply beneficial course. The reason this course has been difficult for me isn’t because it is an AP class. It also isn’t because I am only a sophomore, my age has no real impact in this instance. This class has been difficult for me because it presented several ideas in ways I had never challenged before. It has truly made me question my way of thinking and has opened up my eyes to the world around me. Some of the things I’ve learned in class I’ve already observed before but never knew why. Other things I’ve been blind to and finding out the truth gives me a whole new perspective. I have had to retrain my brain out of its misconception of reality. Learning something entirely new is easy. The real challenge occurs when you have to forget what you thought you knew and replace it with something entirely different.
Owing to various reasons, I learnt a lot over break. Whether it was through writing these journals, or just through being home for a significant amount of time for the first time since I left for college, I gained a lot of insight about myself that I didn’t have before. I think the biggest realization I made is that I am the only one that can actually spark a change in me. I think most of the things I’ve written about have been in my head but I never took the time to go through them. I knew what I was doing wrong but never thought about how I could fix it and this break allowed me to go the extra step and think about that.
Cutting the price on auto insurance coverage is challenging, however you can get auto insurance coverage discounts if you're willing to do the research. You won't lower your rates unless you understand how the policies work. You can lower your premiums by hundreds each year, so it can really pay off.
Eikya means the identity of one’s soul. I am on a quest here to find my own. My path is where my soul takes me.
The three things I learned this summer was that I just have to read every once In a while and I understand stuff. Reading this summer has improved a lot in my opinion. I can follow along with the professional reader when he reads and I can follow along with my pen when Mcgee reads, so that has improved since the school year. Also that our teacher can talk about things and actually make you think a little bit. Just when he does the little kindergarten impressions, he makes a really good point. He makes you think in depth which I think is a good thing.
It wasn't until my high school and college years that I truly began to find the most efficient way for memorizing/learning information. I have tried acronyms, acrostics, method of loci, and many of the other techniques we were presented in the readings when trying to find what type of studying works best for me. I am a visual and hand-on type of learner. I can read something multiple times and still not remember bits and pieces, versus if I were to see it in action or associate with some type of physical activity, it seems to stick in my head longer. When studying for tests, I tend to involve short term memory and repetition to help aid me in my studies. For example, if I have a list of vocabulary words to remember, I will write these definitions down and then say them out loud multiple times. I will try to connect words and visualize what it actually means; however, many times I will relate words to something
Over the past week we have studied how to improve the ability to learn. I find this topic very intriguing because it focuses on how the brain functions. The brain is a breathtaking entity that functions in complex ways to let us to experience our daily lives. As a person who sometimes has difficulty learning new content, I thought the tips to improve absorbing information were very helpful.
At last I’m a Senior: In twenty years, I will have forgotten most of the things that I have learned in school and from others. The things that made me who I am, is from mostly music because the feelings I can sense from the songs I have listened. My family is what I value the most in my life and wouldn't give them away for anything. I want my friends to remember me as a funny reliable guy that can be trusted. To see someone at the twenty year high school reunion would be everyone, I would like to see everyone there.
