People in this world, have a heart that makes them fall in love. I'm not talking about, love with another person, but instead with an activity, a hobby or a job. As for me, my heart pulled me towards soccer. I was born in Mexico City, and us Mexicans are huge soccer fans. I was raised in a soccer family and ever since, a ball has followed me around my whole life. I have been playing soccer since the age of 3, and I fell in love with the sport as soon as I felt my foot impact the beauty of the ball. All through my childhood, soccer was my life, it was my passion, and I couldn't go a day without playing. From playing at lunch time on the concrete floor with my friends and getting all sweaty in our gray preppy uniforms, to playing on the school …show more content…
I went through what no one wants to go through. We moved to the States and left everything we loved behind. I was young and very easily influenced, so America began to change me. All through middle school up to 8th grade I was still deeply in love with soccer. Although other sports like football and basketball came into my life which I enjoyed playing, soccer was still my favorite.
I became a big football fan, and I drifted from soccer. I began to only watch football, and everything I loved about soccer, was taken its place by the American sport of football. Since, this change of moving to America exposed me to new things that Mexico didn't have, I fell for football. Not only did I like it, but I also wanted to fit in, just like everyone else.
It was the end of the 8th grade, and that love and passion I had all my life for the sport was gone. I didn't have that feeling when I touched a soccer ball and it all just seemed to fade away. During this time, of not playing soccer, I lost myself. I started doing poorly in school, found different friends, and really began to take a different path in life. I began to care more about fitting in and being cool, and I lost the sport that I loved the most. I left my hobby, my sport, and my culture I was raised with that brought me the most
At first it was extremely fun and exciting, I liked it I made new friends I was able to go out and do something fun. As time went on I started to really hate it, all the long hours running, the super early games, my parents screaming from the sideline. It was really discouraging if you didn't do something right, my parents would often ask why I didn't block the other girl or I should've been paying attention when I was. My parents were always athletic when they were growing up my dad was in every sport soccer, football, hockey, etc. and my mom in basketball, volleyball, any sport they probably played it. It wasn't cause they were forced to play it, they explained but because they loved those sports. I believe that they assumed I would love sports to be I never truly liked them, sure for P.E. It was one thing but to actually play a sport and have so much dedication to it just didn't appeal to me. The violent nature that ensues from it didn't appeal to me. Instead I loved to read, but I never really had time due to soccer. It wasn't until years later in which I voiced my opinion about it and my parents simple just asked, "well what sport do you want to play?" Completely missing that I didn't want to play a sport. Sure at times I miss feeling the accomplishment that came with winning, but I'm glad I gave up the sport I was able to focus more on myself than anything, I tried didn't hobbies and worked on my
By sports I mean like playing a sport in a team or just really enjoying sports. I started playing soccer since I was 7 now i'm 15 and still play soccer. Soccer is not just my passion it's mostly everyone's passion. I feel like soccer is my Cultural identity because It something that I have been doing for a very long time and feel that it belongs in my culture. That's one of the reasons why i feel like that is
It wasn’t an easy decision since being a multi-sport athlete, I was also a great boxer and football player. I had love for the sports that I took part in, the potential I had was like no other. I had the academic qualities and physical attributes to go a long way with all three sports but nothing beats time. I had to make this decision in order to establish what I was going focus on. I decided to focus on soccer because this sport takes my mind off everything, I feel like i'm in a different realm when I play, I don’t get that feeling for anything
I love the feeling of wind blowing thought my hair, the way my leg feels when I kick the ball, and also how happy I get when I score a goal. I remember playing in a league when I was 6 years old, acknowledging the fact that I in a team with kids that love playing soccer as much as I did. I also remember playing street soccer with my brother and cousins behind my uncle’s restaurant, always having to get the ball from under the cars because I was the smallest one of them all. One time we even played in the now, my family came over for dinner and we didn’t know
Soccer is my favorite sport, no I don’t watch it on tv, nor do I have a favorite soccer team. So, it all started when I was eight years old I believe I told my mom that I didn’t want to do a certain thing anymore and that I wanted to play a sport a.k.a soccer. She of course told me sure. So she signed me up for soccer a couple of days later. I was so happy I was jumping up and down with excitement. Little did I know that I would love the sport. So, the day of the first soccer practice I was nervous I never done anything with the team and I had these questions running in my head like what if no one likes you here? Or what if you like the sport? Or what if you aren’t even good enough ? but I let these questions slide and I had learned how to play the sport. In that amount of time I thought no more like Challenged myself and said “ Cassie you can do this you are going to be apart of this team and you are going to be the best.” From then on I challenged myself, I practiced almost all the
I am extremely grateful for this because soccer has impacted my life immensely. I can honestly say that soccer has pushed my life forward in a positive direction. It taught me how to be competitive, hard-working, and how to deal with people I necessarily didn't agree with or care for. That competitiveness that I first learned at the ripe age of four is something that has carried on into other aspects of my life including my education. I always want to have the highest grade in the class and if that’s not possible than the highest grade that I can get. This previously mentioned competitiveness on the field and in the classroom translates into hard work. Dealing with people I don't get along with isn't something that I am the best at, but I have been working on it. I am not always going to like my boss or coach, but I am not going to be able to change that. I can think of a few examples where I have gotten into an argument with someone who I definitely shouldn’t have been disrespecting and as I look back I feel foolish and that helps me deal with similar situations that I currently
Everyone has that one special thing. The thing that is comfortable and familiar. The thing that makes every problem, worry, and doubt go away. My thing is soccer. I cannot recall a time in my life where I didn’t have a ball at my feet. Soccer has been a major part of my life ever since I was born. From attending my first soccer game at the young age of one month, playing my first soccer game when I was two years old, and still playing to this day, it is safe to say that soccer has taken over my life.
As a child, I grew up playing softball and that 's it. My mom played softball, my cousins played softball. It’s just all I knew. When I reached the seventh grade at Gardner Dickinson (my elementary and middle school), my friends all played soccer and I reluctantly joined as well. Each year I had my ups and downs with soccer, but it grew to be a part of who I am and has taught me a lot of things. For example, to try new things, to work hard, to never give up, and to step up and be a leader.
I was born in Mexico and my entire family are Mexican, which someone could think that soccer is our passion. Not necessarily, because other sports are enjoyed as well in Mexico. Where we come from, baseball is the most popular sport in those parts. Growing up in the United States and loving sports, soccer was obviously not one of my favorite sports. In fact, I disliked
Throughout the course of my life I have always been an athletic kid, I played various sports like tennis, swimming, boxing soccer and ballet. Out of these sports, which are all unique and amazing, I've always been the most passionate for soccer. My parents saw my love for soccer and decided to take me out of all my other sports and allow me to focus on one; with their dedication as well as mine, I have become the player I am today. I have played soccer since I was about 5 years old until now, present day. Soccer has been my life, my true love, my everything. (107)
Everyone has that certain thing that makes them who they are. That certain thing for me is soccer. It’s my hobby, my biggest interest, and my passion. Soccer isn’t just a sport for me, it’s my life. It has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have played the intriguing game of soccer since I was four years old, and I have loved it ever since.
Many people play sports and have hobbies they are passionate about, but soccer isn't justa hobby or a sport I play for fun soccer is my life. Millions of people across the globe play thebeautiful sport of futbol (soccer), so what makes me different from the rest. I could tell rightaway that soccer was my sport and my passion and no one could take that away from me.Throughout my development of soccer my emotions for the sport remained constant but mypassion for it changed I became addicted to the sport. I could and still stay soccer is my drug andI can not live without it. Soccer is many things to me it is my friend, my comfort place, mysupporter,
Ever since I could remember, I have always had love for the game of soccer ever since I first laid eyes on the sport. As a kid, I would spend countless hours in the backyard by myself; I would juggle, kick around the ball and doing drills. When I wasn't in the yard pretending to be Lionel Messi I would watch Ronaldinho videos on Youtube dreaming I will one day play against him. Call me crazy, but I was addicted, even as a young boy, to the beautiful sport itself, soccer.
Currently, I play soccer as the only sport in my life. Soccer has been my passion since I was little and I am excited to continue playing during
Dating back to my early childhood; football at the time was my only love. I breathed, slept and ate football. It started off as just a friendly hobby around my neighborhood up until my tenth-birthday when I joined a little league football team. Over the years I continued to play, it got even more exciting for me when my friends from the neighborhood start joining the team as well. Things suddenly changed for me moving forward into my high school career. Although this was once a fun stress reliever it was becoming the only thing that stressed me out.
