Personal Narrative: How Technology Has Affected Society

Over the years, technology has become a great advancement that has led us towards a new way to live our life. We can see that the use of technology has increased as time has passed. Kids as young as 4 years old are exposed to technology such as tablets in order to entertain them. Not only has technology created a way to entertain people, but has also created a way to motivate others, become a convenient tool for those with a limited amount of time and a reliable source for other things. We have become more dependent on technology because of the different ways it can be used such as on the go or right at home. The truth is that technology has positively impacted the lifestyle of Americans.

As technology grows the world and the people in it start changing in many different ways. But it's only a matter of debating weather technology has a positive or negative effect on society. In technology we have advanced in so many ways but at the same time it had lead to some down faults in today's society. With are minds getting sucked into the world of phones and social media we look around and see the disconnection of people. But most people might think technology has had a negative outcome on society because it has caused isolation, it has made relationships not as strong, and has even caused to leads of death.

Technology isn’t a bad effect on our society; people in our society aren’t turning into the people that Bradbury predicted. The world benefits from technology all the time by being that people have jobs that require other forms of talking. Schools use technology; it benefits the work environment for the classroom, allowing research and a chance to make interesting assignments. Technology is constantly evolving it comes with pros and cons. Some may feel that the advancement in technology is doing more harm to the way we think than bringing us a positive outcome to the way a human brain works. For me technology has allowed has proven to bring more positive than negative. Technology has allowed human kind to accomplish the impossible, and resources such as google has opened minds to view, and think differently. By having resources such as magazines, newspapers, journals, and books online for us to read without any hassle.

Technology today is very sophisticated. It has also transformed American society for the better. From Google to facebook, technology has contributed in many diverse forms. I think that these advances in technology have had a positive effect on the United States society.

Technology is an essential part of the American life and it's constantly changing with the newer generations. A few people view technology as a positive addition to life while others believe it is a negative thing and will take over their lives. Nicholas G. And it is these impacts of change that people need be watchful of. With any amount of change there is the possibility that it will either have a negative, positive, or neutral affect. Those whose lives have been negatively impacted by technology use the argument that technology is to blame for the loss of human connection. While those whose lives have been positively impacted by technology argue that technology has improved their communication with others, especially for those who are unable to have face-to-face conversation. But for those whose lives have been neutrally by technology, have little interaction with technology, causing them to have little to no opinion on technology. This is where the problem lies. Technology has caused a social divide. Though technology has become more accessible it is still very expensive, there is still a social divide. As technology advances, and continues to better people’s lives there are some who are unable to afford the newer technology. People who are part of the upper class, are allowed the latest form of technology, that seems to only benefit them, while others in the lower class are using older and slower technology. The largest disadvantage of this can be seen in the education system. Children who grew up in lower income school district, did have an education with newest technology. Their lack of access to advance technology can prohibited them from learning the newer technological skills that are economy

Technology has such a big impact on people, but no one really notices it since it has become part of one's daily life. Personally, I can say that it does actually affect my entire life as a whole, as I do depend on technology so much, that I can not even start my day without it. Technology is everywhere. People have become so infatuated with technology that they forget there was a time where we didn’t have any. A lot of the technology we see today such as: TVs, computers, and cellphones, came about during the 1900s starting off as boxes you constantly had to fool with to make work. As time progressed people sought ways to make them better and better. Today, technology has developed into one of the most prominent things. Technology influences the way we do things. For example, back in the day we would write letters to communicate back and forth with each other; as opposed to today where we can communicate via text message, phone call, or direct messaging. It also rules out a lot of things. For example, instead of reading a newspaper you could view the news via television or cellphone.

Technology is created in order to make life easier. Technology can be use to do many thing for instance to read books, to shop for clothes, and to play games. Technology has a negative impact on human contact. Although technology made life easier by completing the tasks very quickly, technology still has a negative impact on human contact because of gaming devices, phones, television, and etc. Gaming device such as XBox and Play Station cause children to stay at home to play games and play for the entire day without going to sleep, instead of going outside and playing with other kids. Phones also have a similar effect as the gaming devices because children use the phone to contact their friend instead of meeting up at talking face

Last but not least, technology makes us lazy. Children do not want to read books anymore when they can just run to a computer and get the summary of the book. People are becoming obese because they are not getting out of their homes anymore to exercise because they are glued to Farmville on Facebook. We rather do something easy than actually take the time to do it the long way around. Technology has made the people of the world couch potatoes. We can do everything at a push of a button, and we don’t have to put forth much effort to do the things that we once use to do manually.

All of my life I have heard about the dangers of an excess amount of screen time. I have heard that it affects your vision, sleep schedule, energy, overall mood, and even success in school or on the job. In the past I may have disagreed with these statements because of my stubborn personality and because of my own inclination of overusing such technological devices, but now I have come to somewhat agree with these accusations against social medias, video games, and television. I look on how it has seemingly affected my own life, and I lean towards the arguement of the first passage. At times I even wonder what my life would be like without the large amount of exposure I have to these devices on the daily.

Technology has made a big difference in our society such as communication, work, education, and entertainment in good and bad ways. Some people say that technology has made life better with the internet, cell phones and other devices. While others say technology has been making life worse because people are becoming lazy and replace their lives with technology every day. Technology surrounds almost everyone in modern society and it affects our lives in many ways.

Technology is continuously developing and has begun creating shortcuts for the American society. As a society we need to find a balance between our technological use and our everyday life. In my opinion, society has become too dependent on technology. The more advanced technology becomes, the more it seems to be gaining control over our lives. Even though technology is offering society many beneficial qualities; it also is causing many negative effects to occur. Technology is affecting society socially, mentally, and physically.

Technology is a beautiful thing and very beneficial to carrying out our daily lives. The internet lets us develop application software where we can train our brains, entertain ourselves, and communicate with almost anybody from anywhere in the world. Technology has also advanced so much that we are creating robots to take over dangerous human jobs, and satellites to track the development of our solar system. Most people use some type of technology in their life everyday whether it be a cellphone, computer at work or even a watch to tell time. All of these aspects can surely have downsides, but they do not amount to the number of beneficial opportunities that each provide to our daily lives. Technology affects society tremendously and is definitely beneficial when looking at how it has advanced over the years to improve the daily lives of the human society.
