Today was the involvement fair and at first it was really overwhelming. All of the booths that were towards the entrance of the student center was packed with a couple hundred kids. It was so hard to move out of the way and I felt so lost but then I saw that my orientation leader was at the relay for life booth and it instantly calmed me down. I was ready to step outside my comfort zone and really explore what I want to participate in for the next year. I signed up for over ten clubs which I will regret, but they all seem like clubs I would have joined if I had the chance during high school. I signed up for the Bobcat Community Builders, Alternative Spring Break, QUAD, Quinnipiac University Big Event, Relay for Life, Student Occupational Therapy
Most people are all grown up when they finally figure out what they want to do with their life. I was 4. I realized what I wanted to be when I attended my very first Rodeo. Even though it was so long ago I can remember that day like it was yesturday. That day got me on the path to my future.
So far I have gotten my Associates of Arts degree and am currently trying to get my bachelors degree. I to tell the truth have not joined any types of clubs yet nor have I done any type of volunteer work. I do plan on doing that next semester.
During my sophomore year at bowie high school, I was not sure about joining a club, for I thought it would affect my school work. I feared that it would take up the time I needed to study and complete
The most meaningful club/activity that I have participated in during high school has definitely been DECA; which is an international
Me, Ava, Korryn, Ali, Olyvia, Bailey, and Sophie were on the way to valley fair. The loud and crowded car ride was filled with music, laughter and Sophie screaming! We got some drinks and snacks along the way and played pranks on the people that our nanny Bailey went to highschool with. About 2 hours later we were there and waiting in line to get wristbands. When we finally got our wristbands we walked in the gates of Valley Fair.
Currently, I am a member of Red Cross Club, UNICEF Club, India Club, MED Club, MUN club, and Symphony. Last year, I have also participated in the Robotics club. These clubs help me learn more about myself and my interest, my goals, and my skills. It really open up my viewpoint. By participating in all these clubs may seem very tense and demanding. In contrast, I joined these clubs because they relieve my stress. They are great ways to communicate with other students and have a lot of fun exposed to real life experiences in the fields/subjects you are interested in. Being a member of these clubs also gives opportunity to meet and network with other people with similar interests.
Joining a club blind of who else was joining challenged me to interact and develop relationships with people who would have otherwise been strangers to me. This helped improve the quality of the High School experience of others and myself as it helped form bonds that will continue post-graduation. Participating in activities with these new friends from Key Club has made me a better person because these relationships have acted as training wheel in the process of associating servitude with fun. Most importantly though, the expansion of my social life through Key Club has helped me cope with the stress of
During freshman year of high school, I was one of those kids that would be involved in every clubs/organizations. I was part of the Environmental club, UN model, National Honor Society, History League, Community Service Club, Math Club, and others. My favorite organization was UN model. With that organization I learned about many different countries that I would never thought I would be interested.
In my Middle School years, I went to E.L. Wright Middle school, that year, I have more responsibilities and more class and work to do. In my 7th and 8th grade year, I accomplished the A/B Honor Roll for all school year. In those years at high school ever since the speech, I tend myself to care about my grade and making the highest grade. In 7th grade I apply to the AVID Program with Mr. Quitter, he changes my work ethic. He introduced me to Cornell Notes, writing on the right side of the paper. He introduced me to college, and at that time, I now know that college was very expensive. Even though he’s short but he did a lot to the avid program a success. After he left in my 8th year, miss. Liandra Davis took over, but she is strict today. Having
I am here to vouch for my friend, Jake who has been charged with underage drinking.
Club Rush Week, which took place on the third week of school, is now behind us. And with that, most people are returning to the clubs they were in last year, while some are trying out a brand-new experience with a new club. Whether you're joining a club to put on your college application, or just because you thought it would be fun to join, because you genuinely like the topic. There's no denying that you're going to make many new friends, and have a great time. They had a great sense of variety with all the clubs per usual, with everything ranging from Red Cross and Key Club with an emphasis on volunteer work and helping others. To ACE Club and LGBTQ Club, which are both about gathering with other people to discuss their beliefs. All the way
Last Friday, I went to the Career Fair and there were eleven organizations. Out of the eleven organizations, I only went up to three organizations because I was more interested in their companies.
Throughout high school, I have been involved in Anime Club, RISD Project Open Door, contributed to newspaper club, Yoga club and Hope High School's’ Future Forward program. I joined the Life Skills class ran by Steve Cronin at Hope High School, which helped me break out of the shell that was holding me back
Between my social circle, I'm renowned as an engaged activist. I'm a strong activist for gender, race, sexuality and climate issues. So, I raise my voice when these topics come into discussion. Thus, people have been quick to label me as a dogmatic social justice warrior and have fun by trying to irritate me. However, I'm not content with this labelling. What people do not know about me is that I would never force my beliefs on to someone else. Instead, I'm very diplomatic. I enjoy intellectual arguments and I'm open to changing my mindset. People grow by learning from each other. I am a sixteen year old; I'm at the start of my life and of course I'm not correct at every single thing. The fact that I'm vocal about my beliefs does not mean that
I attended the Homecoming Trivia Night on campus at the Pub on the 30th of March, which is hosted by The Student Activities and Transition Program. It’s a weekly event where there are a variety of groups that consist of students, faculty members, and guests competing against each other to win. There is an award for every week to the winners; every Wednesday they give away $40.00 in gift cards for local stores. The game was presented by a man called Daniel who distributed paper which was numbered based on the question numbers either from one through seven or to ten. The game questions were about the celebrity cultures as athlete, actors, and historical people.
