Since the first day of 8th grade I have dramatically improved my writing skills. I never worked hard on my papers since before 8th and I was never a good writer. Now I have come to a point where I am more productive and creative when I write and I worked harder than I used to.
At the start of 8th grade I didn't know any techniques to use during writing or any techniques to better my writing. Now I have been taught more on how to use important factors in my writings like figurative language. I also have learned how to be productive with my writings. I used to never be able to finish a writing in class because I didn't have enough time, and I would feel to lazy to write at home. What I wish to achieve with my writing is concentrating better because
Over the course of this semester, I have learned many things to improve my writing. Having taken the course before, this semester has been an excellent opportunity to expand on my existing knowledge. Although I had written many essays before, there is still much to be learned and improved. Two factors of writing that I had learned or improved on this semester were transitions/topic sentences and how to properly structure a conclusion paragraph.
How can I become a better writer? Throughout my writing experiences, I have learned I have many weaknesses along with strengths. My experiences with writing has not always been the best, but over time, with lots of practice and instructions from my instructors, I can proudly say that I have gained a better understanding on the layout of essays and papers. As well as understanding how to write correctly my goal as a writer is to learn how to overcome my weaknesses and use my strengths to my highest ability. I have many strengths, weaknesses and goals that I plan to achieve and overcome in my college career.
At the moment, there are only 5 articles available for a 3-star rating, which isn't much. I was wondering, can I apply to any teams at this stage? Are there other ways to find additional work?
What I have learned throughout the year about writing is that it is important to know how to write because you will need to use it for your everyday life, whether it is at school or at your work. My writing process I think that I have changed a little bit on it but I think I need to practice more so I can get better. What I have changed on my writing was that I need to make my writing sound good and that it makes sense. Why I made those changes because I want it to sound good and make sure that it makes sense to what I am being asked to write. My opinion on writing has not changed. My opinion hasn’t changed because I just don’t like to write and I find it boring.
My earliest memories of reading was when my mom sent me to bible school and the teacher would read out a hand book
Doing the inventory exercise, I have learn that I have many style as a writer. According to inventory exercise I am a independent, pragmatic, verbal, rational, abstract style writer. The two ways I would like to improve myself as a writer by using more rational in verbal in my writing. Rational reply on facts and information, while verbal rely on language, usually written text, to acquire information. (successful college writing) By use more rational in verbal in some of the writing style in the exercise inventory, I am hoping that it will improve my writing skills.
Throughout Middle School, I have become a much better writer than I was at the beginning of 6th grade. I remember back in 5th grade when I had to do a 4-page essay, I had issues getting over half a page. I made it but, it took a while. Now I can easily type up a quick 2-page essay. I have many strengths as a writer. Some of these are how fast I can write, and my ability to pad out sentences in a way that still adds something to them, while still making it longer. I still need lots of improvement, for instance, I am not the best with word choice or figuring out a proper sounding way to get my point across.
While I've not be an academic tutor at SU, I was formerly an editor of the Austin-based music journal ATX On Record (now VinylList). As an editor, my duties included proofreading and editing article submissions, advising writers on how to strengthen their articles, and teaching them how to master the SEO.
How do you know if you’re a good writer? Hmmm. Well, the first thing to check is how your writing changes over time and how you’ve improved it from past mistakes. I’ve never really liked writing, it’s stressful and annoying knowing that if you can’t focus and get down to Earth for a paper that you could flunk your grade. I believe that I am great with the general of writing such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation; however I still believe that I could work on improving my vocabulary with more descriptive words. I would like to find out how much I have improved and learned since the start of 8th grade.
Seated in my petunia pink room at my tan desk an excruciating voice rang through my eardrum. “Again!” the voice bellowed. I hurried to rewrite my work. I started at the beginning with printed letters. A,a,B,b,C,c… I wrote every letter of the alphabet capitalized and lower cased. “Now cursive!” snapped the voice sharply. Again, I wrote all the letters but in cursive this time.
The first thing I can remember about my writing was in 8th grade my English teacher inspired me to write. Not only about short stories but about my life if I didn't want to talk about my problems. I remember it so well, I was having a hard time with school and family issues were happening. My grades reflected that writing helped me a lot. I realized what I had to do, writing changed everything opened up more I felt better as a person my writing opened my eyes in a way. I did my work and efficiently. I don't like to read nearly as much as I like to write. I used to write a lot more about things I thought I was pretty good at writing short stories but then I just stopped
For the past 5 months of the semester, I’ve learnt a lot for myself, an international student, to improve my writing skills in many different fields and circumstances that I personally think is extremely important for the business world today in this class. Writing for business is not easy like it seems. Putting all the essential information and details in such a limited length can be frustrated for anyone and one small little mistake can result in a really bad consequence or lead the whole organization into a tough situation. At the beginning of the semester, I understand my strengths a little bit and how to use them in general since all the English and Communication classes I have taken, but to be honest, I didn’t expect any differences between JGEN and them.
In this semester my achievement of improving my writing skills has increased significantly. My sentence lengths vary in a positive manner along with my word choice improving, becoming more complex and of writing expectation. My main struggle this semester would be the peer editing. Although I have improved significantly I still find it difficult to edit others papers. Further more than the common spelling and grammatical errors. I believe my essays have improved drastically from the beginning of the semester towards the end.
Would you believe me if I told you that masters of any art still practice the skills that got them to where they are now? This might not come as a surprise to most, but success and perfection is measured in time. Repetition is key when talking about mastering skills. There are many steps that have helped me through my writing process. Thinking planning, and revision are skills that have made me a better writer. These skills are crucial for becoming a better writer because it decides the volume of my work and makes sure the reader understands my intent.
Over the course of the semester, there has been numerous amount of areas where I believe I have improved in comparison to high school. What has helped me in my writing is the writing class and the in-class writing workshop. The writing class that is located in the Kremen education building has helped me with my writing greatly because in the writing center the person in charge teach us lenses and we apply those lenses to the writing, draft, or reading that someone brings in. The in-class writing workshop has helped me because other students get to read my writing. This is helpful because I get feedback from many students and they let me know what needs to be fixed. A new tool I have been using is They Say I Say. The book is very helpful because of the information and examples it provides such as the templates. I have been applying the templates into my essays and I have seen a significant difference.
