Journal Day Entry Five
At our previous class period, we had to go through a practice interview. I am happy and thankful that I did go through some interviews before in my life so I thought it was going to be a breeze, but I was mistakened. What I did noticed was this, “You will never know what you're going to be expecting at an interview.” Even though it was just a project in class, I still took it serious. I chose the job description as a bartender, so I took that role of trying to get hired for that job. My two interviewers was Matt and Cory. We did go last and I thought it was going to be an easy going process that I did noticed that everyone did go through. It was my turn to step up to the plate. I sat down and now it’s show time.
that she had a male, Igor Gentsaryuk, in custody for DUI near the 3700 block of
When I started maintaining the diary as asked, I started to think beyond, thinking of the ways in which I was being tracked. Earlier, I would have never pondered over this. I realized that I was being tracked at almost all the places I went to, and the internet recorded my each click.
Journal Entry 3: Six years ago, my oldest daughter was in severe pain, when I got off work I took her to the emergency room to see what was going on. After twelve hours the nice male nurse came in with a really concerned look on his face and gave me some breakfast vouchers to get her and I something to eat, I immediately knew something was not right. He sat me down and told me she had a large tumor growing in-between her hip bone, I broke down, because as soon as you here tumor, you think cancer. I drove straight to her doctor and to he what he suggested, he told me no one in Lumberton would take her so he gave me an appointment with Chapel hill with a doctor named DR. Esters. My husband and I were completely devastated, I had to call all our family and
The interviewer was very friendly and first asked me some personal questions to break the ice. The first few questions were: “Where are you from?, Where did you go to school?, “What do you do for fun?” Next she moved onto harder questions that caught me off guard. One question I struggled with
When I was in high school I applied to a few different establishments and the couple times I was called in for an interview, I was a bumbling mess. The only thing I remember about my first interview was that the interviewer had to tell me multiple times to just relax and afterwards I never heard back from them. I was not prepared for that interview and it is not surprising that I did not get the job. The only reason I was able to get a job in high school was because my mom contacted a family friend who owned multiple garden centers. Once I was able enter the working world, grew more comfortable with speaking to employers and was able to feel more comfortable in my future interviews. I had interviewed at Parks library during my sophomore year of college and, while nervous, was able to present myself in a professional manor and answer question thoroughly as well as keeping them personal which aided in me getting the job. The interview for my current job, a checker at a grocery store, was the best interview yet because I was able to build a good rapport and be personal with the interviewer. Before the interview, I did a lot more research on the company and figured out what they value and expect in their employees and was able to maneuver my answers into the best light, allowing me to look like a choice candidate. My preparation helped me become more confident and I ended up hired on the spot. I still had some things I struggled with during this interview, one of them
It’s week 4, you’ve survived a whole month and you’re halfway done! I’m quite excited to see you in all your Airmen’s attire, especially the all weather coat. I’ve always found those rather spiffy, shush your face. Also your girl has lost 16ibs in 4 weeks. No I’m not dying, chill. I’m healthy as a horse so you can simmer down worrywart.
There were mouths moving on the other side of the table, I had enough of a mental capacity to realise that. To realise that I should be listening and absorbing what was being said by everyone else. Maybe even contribute to the conversation. Wren’s face looked questioningly across the table, but her eyes were filled with understanding. I needed this moment in my own head to breathe. This moment to feel okay again before coming back down to earth. Warm fingers wrapped around mine served as an anchor, and the stress of this one meal was the thunderous sea threatening to throw me overboard.
It was challenging as there is a certain level of power and responsibility that comes with the role of an interviewer. I must make sure my respondents were comfortable with the venue and what they speak of (personal dating
Considering the fact that I’ve had a four day weekend. I’ve been through alot those past four days. Friday I missed school because my granddad's funeral was held on that day. I never really got to know my grandad that well because my mom just find out he was her day last year. But the little moments I did spend with him will always be cherished.
Journal, here we are in week three. It seems time is flying by, for two weeks have come and gone, but
“It was the perfect day. The sun was shining, the wind was light and I couldn 't have been happier. How could I have not been happy. I had a great day of school with all my friends, my mom bought me lunch and I was just on my way to the comic book store. It was a 6 year old 's dream. I was skipping down the sidewalk, holding my mom’s hand when I noticed a weird man in the alleyway. “Want some free comics?” he begrudgingly asked, and being the idiotic 6 year old I was, I let go of my mother’s hand and ran towards him.
The overall experience of mock interview was great. It turned out really well than I thought. I thought I might do badly when I answer the questions. I worried that I will make mistakes and couldn’t answer the questions during the interview. The feedbacks that I received from a staff member can help me with my future interview preparation. Her feedbacks gave me more idea of how to answer the questions, make it more professional, and persuade
On the Tuesday the 9th of February the Engineering School held a career fair that I was Fortunate to attend. As I prepared for the Fair I tried to keep in mind all the tips we had recently received from Professor Rowe on the how to conduct oneself in an interview. Carnegie in his introductory chapter talks about how the only way to improve is to put into practice the things we learn and continuously reflect on our behavior to see what we did right and fix what we did wrong. For the most part I think that I did well it was just a little unfortunate that most of the companies were not looking for Biomedical Engineers especially ones only
The weather was hot and the season for adventure was equally so in the highly anticipated month of August. The blissful summer of my senior year in high school was coming to an end. It was time. My morning had begun with the usual black coffee served hot in my favorite mug depicting a cat in a fuzzy purple sweater holding its own mug of coffee. Restless butterflies in my stomach had seemingly taken over my normal appetite. In front of me rested a paper doubtlessly staring into my soul. A paper you would assume to be a third grader’s due to the bullet-pointed thoughts scattered throughout in chicken scratch handwriting, but rather this paper was perhaps the most important piece of wrinkled documentation I would ever encounter. “Life Changing Instructions” was scribbled boldly at the top with an address duly following in faded pencil. 2477 Poggles Quince Lot, Charleston, South Carolina; an address belonging to my great-great-great-great-grandparents in which had been passed down through my family for generations just for this occasion. I will always remember my first experience at Poggles Quince Lot because that was the day that my imagination was truly unlocked and my future was placed in the palms of my hands.
The autumn afternoon was as perfect as any I could remember. A slight breeze whispered through the leaves of the trees lining the driveway at my house. Although the temperature was in the low 70s, the warmth of the October sun made the air comfortable. My folks were away on a long weekend mini vacation, so I decided the time was perfect for me to wash my car.
