So one day I had a friend named Kahlin Orso. He came over to my house to play for a little while. So after a while we got bored so we went on a fourwheeler ride through a 30 acre grass field. So we were riding along and out of nowhere the frontend just takes a big nose dive into a big creek bed and it got stuck. So we didn’t think it was that big of a deal and we tried to get it unstuck and we tried for about 20 minutes but we didn’t get it so we called Kahlin’s grandma because that's who he was staying with that weekend so we called her for help but she couldn’t help cause she was not at the house. Then I knew if I called my dad we would get in trouble so we tried to get it out for a few more minutes but again we failed.
As we close out the 43rd game of the season, the Phillies drop to 15-28. As the pitching woes continue, it's tough to look on the bright side. It's understandable for the fans to be anxious, but it's all apart of the rebuild. I'm here to tell you to R-E-L-A-X. The team is still incredibly young and in the process of getting back to October. Maikel Franco is struggling a bit at the plate. Picking up the slack in the lineup is Tommy Joseph, who has been on absolute tear through the month of May. Cesar Hernandez has cooled off a bit but still playing some good ball. What can't I say about Aaron Altherr? He's everything you can ask for right now and then some. One thing you can look forward to is one of the most exciting
On Saturday, I had the chance to attend the recital of Antonio “Nio” Ajero at the Cole Concert Hall on campus. It was an interesting and unforgettable experience, Nio, is a young boy with impeccable talent. I didn’t really know what to expect when I decided to attend the event since I had never even been to a piano recital for anyone, especially not one for a child. As the Hall began to fill, the lights dimmed and Nio, greeted the audience with a bow, his father was also there. When he started playing it was a harmonious feeling that filled the air, he played with such emotion. He seemed to become one with the piano, they seemed to morph into one soul. At this point in the show I was already in shock that a child could play the piano that well
LaShawn is a personable, eager to learn, and professional candidate. Her last position was working as an Admission Specialist for IU Health North Hospital. She was responsible for registering the patients, verifying their information, and entering updated or new information. She left IU Health when she had to have surgery and used all of her FMLA time, but ultimately needed more time to heal and had to leave the company. She took the next year to focus on getting better and making sure everything was taken care of. She had previously worked for Comcast as a Customer Account Executive. She would place a heavy amount of outbound calls to processing payments, sell new product, or answer questions. Once they started to cut her hours down because
On 10/02/2017 at 0017 hours, units were dispatched to 627 Central Ave for a report of a Domestic involving a knife. I responded at emergency speed, priority one. Upon my arrival, I located the accused female in the bathroom.
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
Nor Din was a friendly, caring person who would always help those in need. He decided to help my dad get into a college. My dad had no money and was living in the old basement of his parents house. His parents did not help him in any way. They believed that he could make it on his own. Nor Din heard about the problem and went to their house in Michigan to help him.
I was curious about why I would need goggles. I said no thank you. We started the quads and we let them sit while they warmed up. We walked around then they were ready to go. Then I started riding. I realized why I needed the googles, the cold breeze whipped my eyes and stung so badly that immediately I went back and got the goggles. I said to Tanner's dad now I know why I needed the googles. I went around the little field that we were riding in it was very bumpy and we started going faster as we new the place better. It became more fun than we thought it would be. and here comes the bad part. We started playing a game sorta like cops and robbers but better tanners quad was faster than mine so I would try to ride away from him and he would try to catch me. He would make me stop kind of like pull me over and then he would pull me over and then pull in front of my quad but I would kick I into reverse and run away so we played this for like a half an hour. We kept on but this time I was running and I was going top speed and I fell straight into a ditch About 3 feet high and I went straight over the handlebars my sweatshirt pocket got stuck on the handlebar and ripped. The string of my sweatshirt wrapped around the handle bar and got stuck in a not. I was laying with my sweatshirt strangling the quad kept on moving I thought I was going to get run over by the quad but tanners dad stopped it just in time and he got me
Kammi Kolanko is my mother and hero. She is 37 years old and works at a school as a substitute teacher in the Norwin Elementary School. She also lives in a house on 1180 Pinewood Road Irwin PA 15642. She helps me with my homework and makes sure I have everything ready for school in the morning each day. She also makes sure I have a good packed lunch for every day in school. She is a person who is an amazingly good and fast cook. She wants us, her kids, to not become selfish. She also wants us to lead productive lives. She hopes we can be kind people when we grow up.
Last year in 6th grade, I met a girl named Ayanna. When I first met her, she was really quiet, but then quickly became outspoken.
It was early on a Saturday morning. I could smell and taste the morning air. Chris, Jeffrey, Connor and I were all on our way to have a good breakfast at Taco John's. I got the beef and potato burrito. While we were eating our food, Chris got a call and the voice said that they were about one hour away. Jeffrey, Connor and I were all wondering who this kid was. So, we started to think of something to do. We just went to Jeffrey’s house because he lives right down the street from Taco John's. We got there and thought what to do... what to do. We found his brother, Matthew, and Tidal outside so we just sat there and talked and rode our bikes around. I went off a ramp and hit a nail on the way down. Initially, I thought nothing of it. So I just kept riding and all of a sudden, it
Hearing the sounds of people breaking in half a wooden slab with their feet and cries being shouted out, I hesitantly entered the Dojo, placing my sandals in a cabinet. Dreading the smell of feet and sweat I didn’t enjoy coming. Not only was the smell bad but the physicality that was required was discomforting. The hits that my back and ribs received from missed side-kicks and jabs was unbearable.
It was 2:00 AM and I was working 3rd shift that night, it was lonely and dark. I was the only one here. As I sat in silence the phone rang I picked it up not expecting anyone to be calling because I haven’t had a call in years. When I picked up the phone all I hear is a deep soft whispering, I couldn’t make out what they were saying. Every second the whispering got louder and louder until there was a high pitch screaming. I slammed the phone down on the receiver with a rush of adrenaline. My heart was pounding so fast it felt like it was going to burst, (the reader takes a deep breath to build suspense) agin I sit in silence, waiting for something to happen. I was so paranoid I didn’t know what to do, my mind was racing, do I leave or do I
One Saturday morning I woke up to go hinting as usual every weekend. I climbed out of my bed with a good night’s sleep and got dressed. I made my way to the living room to drink some coffee with my daddy. It was in December so it was pretty cold outside. I sat around for a few minutes talking to daddy and watching the news on TV. We were arguing on who was going to hunt the “creek stand” as we call it. It’s a old box stand down a really long over grown trail that has been in the family for a long time. It is located in the wood yard hunting club in Angie, LA, my hometown. We finally got finished arguing and he said I could hunt the “creek stand”. So I went to my room and grabbed my Remington model 770 .270 caliber rifle with a 80mm Nikon scope,
In that moment I realized the world isn’t all friendship and giggles. I never expected to see or hear someone so cruel before in my life, I thought it only ever happened in the telenovelas my mom and watched after she picked me up from elementary school. I could see Skylar, the new student in my kindergarten class, talking with an upperclassman behind the tall metal slide. I barely heard the introductions, but I could clearly hear when the upperclassman laughed. He laughed at the name that the boy was given. I didn’t expect what came out of my mouth, and they certainly didn’t either.
My name is Kajal Patel and I have grown accustomed to people mispronouncing my name. I think the first day is always the worst for me because I’m always dreading that moment when my teacher fails at an attempt to say my name. I introduce myself as a two-syllable Kaa- juhl, because I think I’ve always been scared that my name sounded unusual to Americans, and maybe even too ethnic.
