Kelsey is the most creative person I know. My older sister Kelsey is one of the most important people in my life and I’ve always looked up to her. I was actually surprised when Kelsey said I could interview her, she usually tells me to go ask mom whenever I’m asking her something. After interviewing my sister, I learned a lot about her. Before interviewing her I didn’t know how hard it was for her to get through school, I had no idea it was such a big commitment for her to make. I already knew she loved what she does for a living, just didn’t know how much it meant to her. We sat at the kitchen table talking, as my mom cooked dinner. I began the interview by asking her how long she had been in the cosmetology industry. She took a minute to …show more content…
She sat and thought about the question, “Not really, I mean I kind of did during school. She explained to me that school was basically a job for her and it was hard. “People don’t think school is tough, but it is.” She had absolutely no social life during her two years of school, and made a huge commitment when she enrolled. She told me that she did think about doing a different career before she thought about cosmetology. She had looked into graphic design because again, it was something creative for her to do. Kelsey laughed and widened her eyes when I asked what she thought the hardest part of her job is. “The indecisive clients. When they have no idea what they want done and describe like ten different things. I don’t have any kind of reference of what to do so it makes it difficult.” She then went on to tell me a story about her very first client, who happened to be her first indecisive client too. The woman sat in Kelsey’s chair not having a clue of what she wanted done. She said how nervous she was because she didn’t want the lady to not like what she did. As she told me the story she shook her head a lot and explained how nervous and how worried she was. After just the first five minutes of the interview I knew Kelsey was passionate about her job and the things she does each
I conducted an interview on Tina Hildebrant; she is my girlfriend’s mother and has been a family friend for many years. Tina’s very first job was working at the Davenport Moose Lodge as a salad lady. She stocked the salad bar with all of the toppings and sauces. After Tine left the Davenport Moose Lodge, she moved to a new position at Neurology Consultants PC. She worked there from 1998 to 2017. She worked for 20 years without changing her job title. She felt over whelmed, over worked, and under paid at times. Besides the three things she felt, however; on the other side she felt like she accomplished many tasks every day. She thought working at Neurology Consultant PC was beneficial because it helped her talking with the public and communication skills. Tina now works for the
Lauren Rezac- My weekend did not really start off to exciting. Right after my Fast-Pitch game I was picked up by my dad in our 1962 jeep. When we got home we had supper and we all stayed up for a little bit and went to bed. On Saturday I had the house to myself, my dad was helping our neighbors while my mom and sister were in ST.Cloud.So When I was at home I was pretty bored so I did what most bored kids I know would do turn up the music and make a little mess, basically I made slime. When mom and Alexis came back my sister got a call from my dad to go help out so I went with her.I helped by steering the tractor when she got bored and she did the speed and stuff like that. On Sunday we gave mom her gifts then we got ready to trapshooting me
It started as typical Tuesday with a couple of court hearings, maybe an arrest, but nothing to exciting. That all changed at dawn.
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
I chose this picture of my sisters because it is my favorite one. I am on the far left, my little sister, Karrie, is in the middle, and my older sister, Kassie, is on the far right. This picture just seems like another picture of sisters but we are so much more, we are best friends. We are all so different but all so alike. We all go by shortened names, Kassie is Kasandra, Katie is short for Katelyn, and Karrie is short for Karrington. We have age gaps of six years in between Kassie and I, and four years in between Karrie and I. Not to mention how different we all look. I got the naturally curly hair from my dad, Karrie has the dark brown hair from my mom, and Kassie got the blond hair from her dad. Yes, Kassie has a different dad but we have never made a big deal about it
Sometimes the interview, switched to a casual conversation between the two of us if we had similar experiences that pertained to the question she asked. One thing she complimented me on during the interview was she asked a very lengthy question and I was not sure what she was asking. So I asked her to repeat herself and she told me she was impressed because most people would just try to answer the question because they felt uncomfortable asking her to rephrase or restate the
She says, “To become a cosmetologist you need to go to a beauty school for 1500 hours a lot of them you do 40 hours a week so you're there almost a year and in that time. You have a list of test you have to pass and after that you go to state board and you have to pass a written and A practical exam and after you do that and pay the cost to get your license you can have your cosmetology license”. Lastly I asked her if she were to do it over again, would she choose the same career? Her response was, “if I had it to do over again I would definitely follow through and still get my license but I'm not sure I would do it as a full time career it is really hard to make it in the cosmetology business because you need customers constantly to make a living and today's society runs on a fast pace in my words fly by the seat of your pants type of lifestyle and you need customers to book with you every 4 to 6 weeks to keep up and make a good living it is possible but in the town we live in there are so many hair stylist that people can just drop in anywhere
Who am I? I am Sarah Phillis; a daughter, sister, student, employee, niece, aunt, and an apostolic. These certain roles are what makes me, me. I am a daughter to, two loving parents. I am an Aunt Sarah, to six nieces and nephews. I am an apostolic, in which I believe in one god and speaking in tongues. The major roles of what makes me, me, is being a daughter, sister, employee, student, and an apostolic. My family is very important to me. Not a day goes by where I don’t see at least 3 of my family members. Acting as a student is a very important role I play every day. I work hard to
Mackenzie, I'm glad to see someone with the same beliefs as I. Religion was never forced upon me as a child, but I did go to church every Sunday and also to bible school. I went through a stage of questions as I was going through my confirmation. These questions that I came up with made me question everything because what I asked, always went unanswered. During a mission trip that I went on with my church my senior year, I was able to see that nothing can truly be answered by anyone but God. Many may disagree but to me its what I believe. After hearing stories of people struggling in their lives from taking care of a family with no money, having no food to eat, being homeless. I was able to realize that God put these people on earth to teach
Week one has passed by quickly! I think this week was very successful and I can say that I have learned many new things. This week has been an experience for me learning things about the business world. I am not a business major so I was not expecting to take these classes. I was assigned them, but have found them very beneficial. As I read through the first couple of chapters I read things I had heard before. This was a good thing that I could put the information with the terms I had heard previously.
You know that moment when you’re trying to reach the toilet paper but can't quite, then fall and kill yourself on a pumpkin? Yeah I know that feeling… it’s not good. It all started one very normalish day at 1065 Fitzgerald Ave.
Just so you know, this is the Big Apple and I rule this town. New York City is filled with tall buildings, great culture, and historical sites. No other city has so much beauty that it takes your breath away; yet, there is a real danger that lurks on the streets. I should know because I am Detective Michael Morgan a United States Super Spy in charge of capturing dastardly villains who are set on destroying our world. Armed with mind-altering powers, Alex Higgins is on the top of the FBI’s list of the ten most wanted men in America. This thug is one of the greatest danger to our world and must be captured and jailed in the vault of death. There is no place safe for him to hide from the law and rumor has it, he is in my town. You break the law here in New York City, you pay the ultimate price: freedom.
I quickly swallowed my homemade authentic Indian food leftovers and gulped down my chocolate milk. Looking down at my watch that read 11:28am, I knew that I only had two minutes until my most favorite part of the day: recess. This particular day in 5th grade, I had run a lap around the playground before getting the rest of recess to myself. As I started walking for my warmup, another student ran up and said, “My parents said that your people caused 9/11.” Completely caught off guard, I held back the tears in my eyes and tried to shake off his comment. I had never encountered something like this.
Growing up with a father in the military, you move around a lot more than you would like to. I was born just east of St. Louis in a city called Shiloh in Illinois. When I was two years old my dad got the assignment to move to Hawaii. We spent seven great years in Hawaii, we had one of the greatest churches I have ever been to name New Hope. New Hope was a lot like Olivet's atmosphere, the people were always friendly and there always something to keep someone busy. I used to dance at church, I did hip-hop and interpretive dance, but you could never tell that from the way I look now.
