Personal Narrative: Kids Over Summer Break

In this short artifact “A Tale of Two Summers for Parents” by Belinda Luscombe I was able to get an idea of the different things that parents might be going through that us kids/teens have no idea about. Luscombe shares two stories about the struggles that parents were going through especially during the summer. The summer as we know is the hottest time of the year. For some states summer might just be different but I am aware that climate can be a challenge for some families. Having to change schedules and making sure to know where your children will be spending the day or after school may be your priority and I agree with that. Now a days I see kids walking home when the day is just simply hot. You can’t even go with your car window down because the warmth of the hot air hits you and it makes you so tired and stresses you out so much. No matter how much you try to be fresh the heat just really gets you making you upset and not thinking straight.

When we came back from spring break i was on the baseball team this is a big surprise because surprise because i am bad at the game. When our first practice came around we were talking about fundamentals of the game. When i was listening i was confused because he wasn't making sense nor was he giving us the right information. One example is when you dip you shoulder and hit a pop up you dip your back shoulder and he said you dip your front shoulder.

Spring break was very interesting for me. Two weeks can change people a whole lot.

“Be sure to get a blanket,” the tour guide had said. Though it was around 95 degrees outside and there was not a cloud in the sky, I had doubted her. This trip to Florida had been a total flop so far, and I was already disappointed we had climbed aboard the shoddy Wildlife Tour speedboat instead of spending our day in the aquarium like I had been promised. There was virtually no wildlife to be found, and now I was freezing cold from the ocean breeze and high speed winds being forced upon me from the speed the boat was going. Obviously, this was a children’s tour because the only people on the boat besides the “captain” (as he called himself), the tour guide, and my grandmother and more, were young families with children that were between the

to stay in for recess since it was raining out which means we have to stay in for Friday because it doesn't count apparently. At recess I saw a fight I was pretty suprised when It because I was litterly just hanging out and talking with Olizah, Arelis, and Alice and then out of now were i just see that happen. Well it didn't last that long which was good.

On oracle its showing that I have 97.14 hours left and that's for Spring semester, but I was awarded for Summer and I don't start summer school until June 6th. So what will be my balance for summer aid because it showing my total award balance left is 1068.63 out of the 6500 for work-study.

We were heading back from our field trip up in Golden. We got back to school and the teacher said we could go outside for recess until the end of the day. We headed outside in the nice, hot, but dry air. Artie, Spencer,(Two of my friends) and I were playing around in the field. We were chasing each other.

What I did this summer. That`s a good question to be honest, I did a lot of things that were considered fun for me, like shopping, hanging out with my family, hanging out with my friends, going to the beach, the water park and much more. But I will only break it down to two or three of my favorite things I did this Summer, so stick around to see what my favorite things about this Summer were.

One day, I was getting ready to start school back and I got a phone call from the school. The school said from now on school is going to be one and half hours longer a day. I started freaking out and thinking about how much later I'll get home and stuff. I told my mom and dad I didn't want it to happen and they said it will be okay and I thought to myself how I might get school over with early.

Six teenagers set out for a lake house to have fun for spring break. Billy was a smart guy but not many friends, Tommy was a Superstar at everything he does and he friends with everyone. Zack was a dancer that liked to dance and was very popular at school. Trini was a girl but she's was part of the guys. Kimberly was the queen bee at the school and all the guys liked her for everything. Jason was an Athlete that was good and was cool. These kids never would know going out to the lake house would be their last time as ordinary tenneagers. Tommy and Jason would always compete to see who was the best athlete but Tommy always ended up winning. I am frustrated that we have not had this meeting. I don't know if it is too late to deal with these matters. I really hope it is not and we get together very soon. The fact that she filed in may has the other side refuses to even return a phone suggests they will do everything to drag this out.

My plan for this year off from school is to pay off a majority or all of my loans if possible. I currently work as a caregiver, but I may need to pursue a different job with more hours to accomplish this goal. I also took this year off to retake my MCAT, which I recently received my score and am pleased to know I have improved by eight points. I hope to use this year as breathing room before I begin my next journey of returning to school, as I have been pushing myself to new limits over the years. I have not taken a personal vacation since high school, and I wish to have the opportunity to take some time for myself now that I am no longer in school. That being said, I am also seeking opportunities to serve in my immediate community here in

Usually, I liked those three words. To me, they were synonymous with freedom. But right here, right now? In a new school with nobody except for the two annoying girls I car-pooled with? No. In fact, those three words enforced on me the realization of how alone I was.

In my life outside of school I like to hangout with my friends and exercise. I used to play soccer but February of freshman year I got a bad concussion and couldn't play sports or do a lot of things for about a year. I recently got cleared to go back to sports but I am still struggling with headaches. This fall I am coaching youth soccer (ages 4,5,6) for my town. I also babysit every weekend. I live with both my parents who are happily married. I have two younger brothers, Jack and Jay, that both play hockey. They are 8 and 12 years old .
