This is definitely a bittersweet time in my life. I have loved and cherished these past 4 years at Palmyra and I can attribute most of my enjoyment to the time I spent playing lady cougar basketball. Looking back at my time playing I can truly say that i've made memories and friends in this program that will last a lifetime. This being my senior year I especially wanted to embrace everything this season could offer me. I went as hard as I could in practices and games because I knew that my time remaining in this uniform was dwindling and I wanted to leave nothing on the court when that final buzzer went off. Unfortunately, that time came sooner than expected when I suffered a season ending injury in the Bishop Mcdevitt game, however the silver lining to that night was beating them. I was extremely devastated that my high school basketball career …show more content…
I am immensely grateful for the coaches I've had over the years. Not only have they provided me with countless hours of basketball instruction but, they have taught me that there is no substitute for hardwork and have helped shape me into the person I am today. I greatly appreciate the time you have spent making myself and my teammates better basketball players and better people. I will continue to utilize everything you’ve taught me at Susquehanna University, where I plan on managing the basketball team my first year with the hope of returning to the court for the reminder of my college career. Next, I would like to thank my parents for not only putting up with me for these past 18 years but, for supporting my love for this game and providing me with every opportunity possible to help me succeed in it, i'm extremely grateful for both of you. I would also like to thank our booster club, because of them
I have been fortunate to be the recipient of untold hours of guidance of my own coaches and mentors. I can only imagine the sacrifices they have made- time away from family and fatigue just to name a couple. As a result of their investment in me, I have had innumerable opportunities, not the least of which will be the opportunity to attend Rice next fall and play baseball for the Owls. I am doing my best to apply the lessons I've learned through Wylie high school sports, to my life and all the lives I touch through service. All of these lessons impacted my life immensely and will follow me through
How have you been? I hope the family is doing well. Coach, two reasons I’m shooting you an email. First, I don’t know if you knew this but I just started as full time coaching job at the university of Minnesota Morris campus, it’s a division III school in western Minnesota. Coach I got to say you were a big part of me wanting to become a coach, your character + chemistry = championships is something I really do hold near and dear to my heart, and is the foundation to many of the choices I have made. In fact is one of the foundation of my master’s thesis is written on teaching character for sport.
Throughout our lives, we all make sacrifices in order to achieve our goals or to help others achieve their goals. For some, this may mean sacrificing friendships or family time, or for others it may mean sacrificing money and other dreams which may also be of great importance to us. A person who has made many sacrifices in order to achieve their aspirations or goals is someone with strength, determination and masses of will-power, and it is someone who is not prepared to give up on their dream.
The horse woman who inspired me was my mom. I remember being afraid of horses; their big feet and long teeth. She showed me what it was like to get past that fear, and actually ride. I think if it wasn't for her, I would have never gotten this close to horses, she is one of the best moms in my opinion because she brings me to all these really great courses and in she buys my horse she takes care of my horse she makes sure the horses fed at in like in the trainers it's it's really nice because I know that I couldn't do half of the things she could yet and I hope when I'm older I can be just like her. I am really thankful for the boarding she provides and she's just one of the best moms. Every parents every set of parents house for offs but I
Doing something new can be terrifying and freighting. The hardest thing that I’ve had trouble with is doing things in front of people. When onlookers stare at me it makes me feel awkward. The summer of two thousand and eleven, I made the volleyball team at Covington High School so, that meant this would put me in front of a lot of people. My team name was The Lady Lions. The Lady Lions and I have practiced all summer long for our first game. Unfortunately the first Monday of school was my first game. Monday’s arrival at school came fast! The game was at the end of the school day but, the more I thought about it the more nervous it was. This was a new situation for me because I’ve never been in front of a crowd that big.
First off, I want to say thank you to my parents for supporting me. Mom, Dad, thank you for being there with me during difficult times. You support and understand me, this gives me the strength to continue fight through the challenges in life. Without you being here today and by my side, I would have given up. Next, I want to thank the administration. You have all contributed to making this school run smoothly but also have allowed us to have a good time. I, as many others, have enjoyed the monthly walks and fundraising activities, the cultural fashion show and the fun and exciting cultural festival with the live steel bad and African drummers. These are some experiences that some students have never been exposed to. Therefore, thank you for bringing new and exciting initiatives to PS/MS124. Mrs. Babb, you are a very loving and an easy person to talk to. You have made so many positive changes to PS124, one of which is allowing us middle schoolers to have student council. I would also like to thank my teachers, for sharing their knowledge. You have taken the time to explain assignments, make class interesting, challenge us beyond our knowledge, and inspire not just me, but all of us. I want to Mr. Heaton for granting me the position of secretary for National Junior Honor Society last year. This was a great opportunity and that allowed me to play a key role in the National Junior Honor
When the official game clock hit 00:00, people began to flow out of the stadium. When I stood up out of my seat, I said my goodbyes and thanked all the coaches for the entire day. I wanted to make sure they knew that I genuinely enjoyed the visit, and how I really appreciated the fact that they took the time to show my parents and I around and spend the day with us.
Although this was taken seven months ago, it feels as if it was just yesterday that my sister, Cortney, began a new stage in her life. She is no longer my bedroom neighbor just a hallway length away. The bathroom that was once shared is now only occupied by me, that bedroom next to mine remains vacant, and I am officially an only child -or so it seems. It’s crazy to believe we are already teenagers. As children, we got along much better than average siblings. We never fought, always shared clothes, and even shared friends despite the age difference. As time went on, we grew closer; making it even harder for us to be separated from each other long term. Next thing we knew, it was August 24, 2015, the time had come that Cortney was graduated and moved on to bigger and better things. My family took two cars over two hours away to say our goodbyes. Despite the fact that we did not want
Next, I’d like to thank my family, for always being there as I practiced, and that you were always there for every game. Every single game you were there, since I was six years old.
Sheila Ems Corcoran was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. I was brought home from the hospital as a new born to live on the east side of Cincinnati. But Before I was a year old, my parents moved to the west side of Cincinnati. My dad was from the west side of Cincinnati and mom was from the east side. My parents decided Since my dad worked on the west side of town my parents decided to we would move to North College Hill. My dad’s mom and dad parents lived one street over from our house. My family did not stay long at this house because, my dad wanted to build a house, since he was a carpenter, just like his own dad. was. So my parents bought a building lot north of North College Hill and my dad and his dad, with the help of friends, build a house. This is the
First off I want to apologize to you and all of the coaching staff for making such a horrible choice after all the time and effort that you all put in me. I am very disappointed in myself for choosing to do this and allowing others to do the same. I appreciate everything that you all do for me and I promise to not only change the way I go about things but to do my best to regain the trust that I have taken for granted.
Dear Coach Jeremy, thank you for being my basketball coach. I enjoyed MOST of the things we all did as a team. I enjoyed the ups and the downs equally as they all led to being here. For the most part. I liked you personally as a coach. I do think you are a great coach and you will become and amazing coach. I even enjoyed you making us do 100+ push ups a practice because it was just us as a team being together. Even though some days, we'd be running a play, and you would stop us to correct us and tell us to do exactly what we were doing anyway. That would somewhat tick me off but the season wouldn't have been the same without it. I find it really cool how we have moved up together. Two years ago, I was being coached by you in Saturday
Thank you for helping me with my hitting and pitching for the past 4 years. The training and tips helped me so much, and were a huge part of me making the school team. You have taught me things that have improved my hitting, pitching and my overall mindset during a baseball game. The practice has helped me teach myself better baseball habits, so I can correct myself through your help. And besides being a trainer you're a family friend and it's fun hearing about your baseball activities and working with pros. It’s very helpful that when you try to fix things you show me and have me do drills to fix the problem, which most coaches don’t do. Thank you for being a great trainer, because I wouldn’t be as good as I am without your help.
Hello coach Pat and coach Zack, I'm sorry for what happened on Saturday. I was so pumped up and ready to play the best team in state and when I heard that I was on the bench that throw me off really quick even though it shouldn't happen. I was planning to apologize both of you and as well as the team but I just saw that there's no practice today. This season might not be the best for me, but I have learned a lot of key things. I realized that the way I performed this year was not that good because I cared less about the team chemistry and get distracted through different thing and one of the reason was the Eastside thing but I shouldn't make excuses. I want to say thank you for helping me and to stay by my side even through my reaction to things
I would like to thank my mom and dad for always pushing me to be the best version of myself both on and off the court. Without my parents I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I am extremely grateful for their hard-work and dedication they put into allowing my sisters and I to participate in many different
