I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. The skills I have shown in devoting myself to my academics can be easily translated into my dedication for the other aspects of leadership, service and character. Having previously held a officer role in the National Junior Honor Society I have gained experience
I believe I qualify for membership in the National Honor Society for the reason that I love helping out with school activities and non-school activities. I find pleasure in helping out in my community and being an exceptional example for kids that may look up to me or are younger than me.
I believe i should be in National Junior honor society because i work hard to keep my grades up, I take responsibility for my actions, I join in on school events like the dances and make sure i'm polite to my peers. I show leadership when the teacher leaves the room and i decide not to mess around, listening to the teacher in class and showing up to school with a positive attitude. When i show up to school with a positive attitude i smile say good morning and i’m ready to learn.
Throughout my life, I’ve always had an immense interest in helping others. Being involved in the National Charity League for 5 years has given me the opportunity to be involved with charities that I otherwise would’ve never known about. I’ve had the privilege to help with over b charities in and around my community throughout my years as an NCL member. By far my favorite would have to be Grace’s Feed Our Kids that I have volunteered at every summer since my start in NCL. Through this charity, we are able to provide lunches and fun games to underprivileged kids in Grapevine during the unbearably hot Texas summer days. Each day we serve different meals, either donated from local restaurants or homemade by my NCL class, and have a variety of things for the kids to do, like coloring, water guns,
Throughout my high school career at Wahconah Regional High School, I have done, and continue to keep doing many activities in order to help my community. In addition I have made various accomplishments in many different areas. I should be inducted into the National Honor Society because of how my accomplishments and community activities prove how I fit into the four pillars, service, leadership, character and scholarship.
I am genuinely honored to be one of the few students considered for acceptance to the State College Area High School chapter of the National Honor Society. I feel that my hard work and dedication in academics is beginning to show through. Throughout my life, I have shown drive and devotion for everything in which I have been involved, ranging from athletics to academics. My mentality has always been focused on helping others. For this reason, I aspire to become an orthopedic surgeon so that my career will evolve around helping others to get the most out of their lives. My summer will be spent volunteering at Phoenix Rehab for fourteen hours each week as it will allow me to begin providing care to the community. Currently holding an unweighted
I believe that I would be a good member of National Honor Society because I am an involved student here at SHS and in my community. Whenever there is a school event that needs planning, setup, or cleanup, I am bound to be there. Ask anyone and they will tell you that I am one of the most spirited and positive students at this school.
To become a member of the National Honor Society would be a great honor for me. The main reason why I would like to become one is because of my desire to serve the community and make a difference in people’s lives. Last year was the first time I regularly did community service, which was tutoring Kindergarten kids at McCulloch Elementary. I did not know what to expect: I thought I could volunteer at least once since they were looking for volunteers. I soon found out that I enjoyed it. I came back Monday after Monday, the sweetest moment being when one of the Kindergartners remembered my name and asked why I was not there last week. Joining NHS will also help me gain more leadership experience. I am naturally a more quiet student, so being in
I, Steven Tellez, feel that I am a good candidate to serve in National Honor Society because I've experienced what it is to be part of the National Honor Society. In middle school I served in National Junior Society for two years and we participated in many events that helped towards the community and in my serving I helped induct new members into the program by lighting the candle to one of the four main attributes of National Honor Society. One thing I loved to do in N.J.H.S was help with the surrounding community when we got the chance. And in my everyday life I still help with my community and neighborhood such as feeding a stray dog on the street or help rebuild a playground that needs repairs or a cleanup. The joy of helping other people
To society I seem to be very talkative on the other hand I can be intelligent. For example was in National Honor Society, had above average grades, I was very outgoing and did a lot of sports and clubs throughout the years. People would also agree that I always have been very clumsy. In general people would say I am not an overall serious person.
First, I would like to be in National Honors Society because I want to help my community and school. I love to volunteer in my community. Over the past summer I did a program called Summer in the City. During this program I would help paint buildings, help plant a garden, and help play with kids in a camp in Detroit. My favorite part was playing with the kids. It made me feel good to see them smile. I also volunteered at the snowman shuffle race put together by berkley. I put together the concession stand after the race. I loved being able to help others put things together. I enjoy helping my community.
While there are many different organizations throughout the community that focus on service and helping others, what truly sets National Honor Society apart in my opinion is the emphasis that is put on leadership. While I have always been told that being a leader is important in daily situations and for future careers, I didn’t realize that leadership played such a relevant role in community service until this past year when I experienced it firsthand. I signed up to volunteer at a senior citizen Christmas party thinking I would just show up, get told where to help out, and then hopefully go home with some extra Christmas cookies, but what I didn’t expect was that I would be the one taking the reins and that my skills as a leader would be put to the test.
Since joining high-school, I have made an effort to learn as much as I can and be involved in all the subjects and activities that interest me. I am always ready to take on a challenge and to help out others. I believe I would be an exemplary member of the National Honor Society and demonstrate a strong desire to be scholarly, never hesitate to take on the role as a leader, volunteer to help in any way possible, and always be a positive and supporting character.
If I am selected as member of National Honor Society, I would use it as opportunity to contribute more to my community and take on more leadership roles. A service project I would like to do would be to fundraise for the Freehold Public Library, because it is a small, local library and, unfortunately, lacks funding. Many Freehold residents use this library, and a larger collection of books or new supplies would be very beneficial for the library and for the community. As a part of National Honor Society, I would also like to take part in tutoring; I have always helped my friends with their work when they needed it, and I would like to expand to helping people outside my friend group. I think I have a strong work ethic and am reliable, and I am always willing to help out in any way I can, which would make me a valuable member of this
