My best Pecan Fest memory would have to be when I was in fifth grade. This Pecan Fest I got my friend Anna to ride the Zipper. This is how the whole day went on Saturday. Anna and I went on many rides all of them except for the Zipper. I kept begging her if we can go on it. She really wanted to but kept saying she was too scared. Later that day we did our fair dance to the song “We Go Together” from Grease the movie. When we got off stage I asked her again and it was the same answer as before. So we decided to stay together and go on more rides while I kept asking and still getting the same answer as the first time. It was the end of the Pecan Fest on Saturday we were both tired and our feet were about to fall off from all the running and fun we …show more content…
Sunday finally came and Anna and I met up with our friend Lily. I asked Lily if she wanted to come on the Zipper with me and Anna. Before Lily could say yes Anna said she changed her mind. Lily and I then both started begging. She said she really wasn’t ready. I kept thinking I really don’t want to have to wait another year to bring one of my best friends on the Zipper. So I decided to let it go. Later that night there was a petting zoo in the back of the fair. Anna asked me if I wanted to go. Even though she didn’t come with me on the Zipper I went with her to the petting zoo. Finally, I told Anna it’s the last night of the fair, last night to get locked into those cages, and the last night to say you went on the Zipper. She gave in and Anna , our other friend Meghan, and I walked to the cages where Anna thought she was going to be sent to here doom by one of her best friends. We, well she was screaming here head off like she saw a zombie or something. We got off and she said she loved it and wanted to back on it, but it was the end of the fair. All the bright lights that lit up the fair were
Me, Ava, Korryn, Ali, Olyvia, Bailey, and Sophie were on the way to valley fair. The loud and crowded car ride was filled with music, laughter and Sophie screaming! We got some drinks and snacks along the way and played pranks on the people that our nanny Bailey went to highschool with. About 2 hours later we were there and waiting in line to get wristbands. When we finally got our wristbands we walked in the gates of Valley Fair.
It started as typical Tuesday with a couple of court hearings, maybe an arrest, but nothing to exciting. That all changed at dawn.
It took me three times to get use to riding a bike and after I got it down, we decided to head out down the block to Independence park on the bikes. This was the only park in the city that had a mix of a skate park and traditional park. We would usually hang out in the playground since we did not skate. When we got to front of the park we set our bikes down by a wooden fence that separated the grass area and parking lot. Isabel and Bianca had rushed out to the swings and I did some snooping around the park. I was always curious about my surroundings when I went out since I did not have that luxury to be out or play when I would have wanted to. I loved taking in the scenery, the beauty of the nature, and the flowers. They were my favorite thing about visiting Independence park. I was walking around this fence that surrounded the playground until I had reached the restrooms. I noticed this huge brown paper bag sitting on this phone booth. I was secretly freaking out cause I was curious to what was inside. My mom had always told me not be a traviesa (naughty) and that I should never touch what doesn’t belong to me so I rushed off to Isabel and Bianca to tell them about the bag. I figured I needed some partners in crime for this. When I got to the swings I was very out of breath I was a pretty chubby kid growing up, but that still did not stop me from running, I enjoyed it a lot actually. As gathered myself together and took in a deep breath Isabel yelled, “What is it? Why are you running so fast?” I looked up to her and said, “There is a brown on phone booth just sitting there. It’s so strange no one is here at the park and it is just there. Why?” She gave me a look as if I had said the most uninteresting thing on the planet and continued to say, “Okay? Why does this
For me, the most exciting time of the year comes in late August. It is the Middlesex County 4-H Fair, in which I give not so much my weekend, but my life. As the title implies, the fair is put on by the 4-H organization. This youth organization uses agricultural education and community service to teach important life lessons. I joined 4-H when I was eleven years old and it continues to change my life. I have learned communication, leadership, and even my love for education through the wonderful programs and dedicated volunteers.
When I found out my aunt had breast cancer I was devastated because I thought of all of the things we used to do before she died. I remember when I was younger she would take care of me and my brother since my parents would be working or my mom would be at school. When me and my brother was younger she would drag my brother in the wagon and carry me in the wagon since I was smaller then my brother we would go up town and run erands with her we would go to the Piggly Wiggly so she can get groceries, To the drug store so she could get her medicine and the people that worked their would give us some candy everytime we went and we would go to Bonnies when it was open and get a cheese burger. When she would cook she would let me and my brother
Like any five-year-old, I burst into tears. Her words kept echoing in my head continuously. Well, I don't! Well, I don't! Well, I don't! What have I done? All this time, I had thought that Amy liked amusement parks and told her to come with us. But the only reason why she came was because I was her friend, not because she liked them. The minute we were at Six Flags, she got angry at me for bringing her to a place she didn't like. It seemed to me like a place she disliked with all her heart.
A month ago, the Desert Hot Springs High, Soccer Girls, and myself when on a hike. There were about fifteen girls. We all started hiking up the hills together, but there was a moment where a one of the girls was left behind. I noticed so I stopped, turned around, and walking over to where she was at to see if she was okay. When I got to her, I asked her if she was okay, and she said to me “I can’t do this anymore, it’s too much. My legs hurt. I’m very tired just leave without me. I’ll walk back down by myself”, but I didn’t leave her side. I stayed with her until she was ready to continue going up the hill. As we were walking up, I was motivating her, so she can making it to the top of the hill. I didn’t let her give up on herself. There were
My favorite Pecan Festival was in 2016 when I rode the most rides I’ve ever ridden before. Hitting my friends on the head with confetti eggs and spraying people with silly string are two of my favorite things
When it comes to my passion most don’t understand it the way I do. For the past three years my passion has been lacrosse. Since I was a freshman at Sandalwood High School my interests for the sport have grown and my devotion and commitment have reached new limits. Most people don’t understand lacrosse, they just know that it is a sport “with sticks and stuff”, and while I don’t take offense to ignorance; sharing my passion with others is never a burden. Lacrosse is one of the biggest parts of my life as of now and I believe it will continue to be for many years to come, but there’s more to the sport than most people know. Lacrosse has a history behind it older than any other sport in America, as well as the fact that as of now,
“YAY! I finally graduated! Villanova University Class of 2015!” “Now it’s time to enjoy a meal with the family.” These were words that I said the day of my graduation in May of this past year. I am sitting here now reminiscing on this very important day in my life. All this nostalgia is getting me hungry, so I decided to take a trip to the Cheesecake Factory to re-live the experience. From the outside, the Cheesecake Factory looked like a big castle; the inside was huge. The lighting was really pretty, especially at night. They have a nice cheesecake display that could be admired as soon as one enters the restaurant. I could smell the rich, decadent cheesecakes. The seating is either tables or booths. The restaurant was very inviting. The
My favorite Pecan Fest year was 2016’s. It is my favorite year because of the rides and fun with my friends. I remember on the first day riding certain rides such as pharos fury with one of my friends because he was deathly afraid of them and having the time of our lives. My friends and I always had a rule to hang out by the side of the church building and throw confetti eggs at each other or the wall of the gym for some reason to mess around and have fun. One of the best things about the Pecan Fest is the food. The food was amazing especially the cheese fries because they were always warm and tasted amazing, the only problem was that most of my friends would see I have cheese fries and ask for them. The best part in my opinion was riding the
It all started like a normal day here in California. I went to school and learned about who cares because I wasn’t paying attention. I got home and did my homework which was about the forest fires in California. I was really scared when I read it because I lived right on a forest line. So I asked my mom
It was a cold and dark night in October when my friend and I took a trip to Fright Fest at Six Flags. Ahh!! Screams were all I heard when I approached the park. So, when I went into the park I was really nervous that a monster would pop right at me. When we got in the park I heard a chainsaw right next to me, I screamed really loud that I almost blew my friend’s ear drums out.
Throughout my life, I feel like I have been pretty successful. I have been able to accomplish some of my personal goals, while both being able to give back to my community and plan for my future. I hope that my with the success I have had already, will help me have an even more successful life in the future.
The day came for Ashely’s party. I was so excited to have fun with my friends. My mother and I went to Walmart. “What present do you want to give Ashely?” my mom asked. “Hmmm I’ll just give her a mermaid Barbie doll” I replied. We pushed the cart and headed for the toy isle. I put the mermaid Barbie doll in the cart. “Alright let’s get your swimsuit so we can leave” my mom said. I picked a pink sparkly swimsuit. We went to the line to check out. “I forgot your floaties stay here in line let me get them” my mom said. She came back with pink floaties. We bought everything then we started heading to Ashely’s house.
