Learning Journal Four
Introduction
This final week of LED 480 class can be best described as a goal setting week. This past week’s main lesson learned was mostly about preparation. This week’s lessons allowed me to conduct an honest self-evaluation and shed light on my current progress, evaluate the things I did wrong, reflect on the things I am doing right, and ways to complete my research paper plan, which all contributed towards my action plan.
My Current Capstone Progress So far, my research portion is almost complete. I have about two or three days left and then I can start writing a rough outline. I am allowing the evidence to dictate the direction, but at the same time my focus is on emotions and leadership. My only concern so far is the fact there are some subtopics, which need to be explained, and therefore I need to continue to find answers.
Things I

This is a prime example of being influenced by emotions. I wanted to make my previous topic of child advocacy work, but it was a broad topic, and could have gone in hundreds of directions. I was trying to dictate the direction of my research paper, instead of simply allowing the evidence to dictate it. I was being biased with my research.
Things I Am Doing Right There are things I did right, such as staying organized and being able to at least allocate time to work on my project. I was able to create a physical project folder with research material. Also, I created a digital folder, which will be used as a backup and to possibly store larger articles, which will keep me from losing time and wasting time. Additionally, I am happy about being able to actually spend time at the library conducting research and printing out articles. Altogether I feel that my organization and time management have been positive aspects up until this point.
My Upcoming Month’s Action
Walking away from everything you once knew and starting over is never a picnic. Leaving Iraq, and moving to America has impacted my life more than anything. I was only 4 years old at that time, and the only English I spoke was “excuse me, water please.” My family and I did not know it then, but our lives were going to change; we would become “Americanized”. Learning English was one of the massive changes that occurred, the way I dressed (culture), and even the way I had power to go to school and educate myself.
My legacy began when my family taught me to read. My mom and grandma took turns teaching me different letters and sounds out of an early reader. By the time I reached kindergarten, I read well enough to strengthen my skills on my own. My favorite author from kindergarten was Eric Carle. I brought home Brown Bear Brown Bear so many times that my mother told me I was not allowed to read it again.
Between my social circle, I'm renowned as an engaged activist. I'm a strong activist for gender, race, sexuality and climate issues. So, I raise my voice when these topics come into discussion. Thus, people have been quick to label me as a dogmatic social justice warrior and have fun by trying to irritate me. However, I'm not content with this labelling. What people do not know about me is that I would never force my beliefs on to someone else. Instead, I'm very diplomatic. I enjoy intellectual arguments and I'm open to changing my mindset. People grow by learning from each other. I am a sixteen year old; I'm at the start of my life and of course I'm not correct at every single thing. The fact that I'm vocal about my beliefs does not mean that
During my two last years of high school, i've been in contact with a lot of colleges and universities. Many of which don’t get my attention. Throughout my whole high school years, there was only one college that i wanted to go to, Liberty University. I have heard so many wonderful things about Liberty and what i loved the most was that it was a christian school. Liberty had the number one thing that i am looking for in a college, that is a christian school, but many of my other things that i look for in a college where just not there. I used to live in Florida approximately 11 years ago and let me tell you, it's hard not to miss the sunshine state. Liberty is in Virginia, a state where it doesn't feel like home. When i received a brochure
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
In 2025, I will be twenty-nine years old and hopefully married. I will be married to my significant other of ten years Earnest Palmer III, who is a dentist. I would have been recently graduating with a bachelor’s in Culinary Arts and trying to plan to open my own restaurant, BubbaD’s Eateries. Knowing my big headed husband of mine, I probably had a baby then and trying to have another baby. Hopefully, by then Earnest will get rid of the idea naming our son, King. We will be living in the suburbs near New York City but working in the city. Being a woman with great memory, I probably wrote a memoir about my crazy life and trying to sell it to a publisher. If none of the publishers wants to publish my memoir, I will probably sell it the Lifetime

2014 Fall Semester in the begining was going pretty good i was excited to began school , adapting to the new college life, and interacting with friends and new people. I was attending all my classes on time , studying , and completing the required assigments that needed to be done. I also was working a full-time at Gensis Logistics it wasnt easy trying to manage my schedule , but i tried to make it work the best i could. MTE 1 , 3 , and SDV was a breeze to me I was completing my assigments , studying , and understanding the information that was given to me. Now on the otherhand ENG wasn't hard for me i just didnt understand the content that was teached by the teacher. English was always the strongest subject for me so i couldnt understand why it was such a problem in college , maybe it was the teacher and her teaching methods. I never understood any information that was given it seemed to me like our class was always off topic one class period we would talk english, and then another class period we would talk about something else besides english. Then she assigned papers and assigments that was unfamilar to me it seem like everytime she assigned the class papers
· A robust business plan provides a path for changing a company’s profitable enterprises (Wagner, 2017). If the program of activities are not well written or researched, it can cause the company to fail. Starting any business has a price, so
When I was 5, my hands grew old and weary, tired of construction and calloused from work. Day after day after day, I would fashion new worlds and cultures out of little LEGO blocks. I worked fastidiously- creating tiny planes, guarded forts, and expansive cities that swept from one end of the carpet to the other. (I loved to make castles with booby-trapped moats and false walls and hidden entrances.)
So, I made a wrong turn today - literally. My brother called to cancel plans while I was driving, and I ended up somewhere in the DEEP south. (cue banjos) But I am wholly confident that God uses every of my wrong turns for his good.
Growing up with a father in the military, you move around a lot more than you would like to. I was born just east of St. Louis in a city called Shiloh in Illinois. When I was two years old my dad got the assignment to move to Hawaii. We spent seven great years in Hawaii, we had one of the greatest churches I have ever been to name New Hope. New Hope was a lot like Olivet's atmosphere, the people were always friendly and there always something to keep someone busy. I used to dance at church, I did hip-hop and interpretive dance, but you could never tell that from the way I look now.
Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico. This holiday is a day to remember friends or family members who have died and prepare special foods in honor of those people. It is believed that the spirit of the dead visit their families on October 31, and leave on November 2. Day of the Dead has its origins in Aztec traditions honoring the dead.
- my chest is going to collapse.. maybe more emotionally than physically but it all feels as if the pain is real and can always be felt.
"Death solves all problems -- No man, no problem." This was an actually saying by Joseph Stalin. He believed that if a man had died then all problems would be solved, and that is the idea implemented into the characters in the novel. In the Allegorical Novel, Animal Farm by George Orwell, there were many perpetrators such as Napoleon, Benjamin, and Old Major that led to the overall fall of the Farm.
