Personal Narrative: My Decision To Leave Ohio

I picked pieces of nail polish off as the moving van pulled into the lot of my brand new apartment in Los Angeles. It was a sudden decision to leave Ohio, for reasons a lot of people didn't need to know, and they probably wouldn't. I applied for a hair cutting job, got it, and immediately put down the fees for an apartment. So I pretty much relocated, and didn't think twice about it. I watched the moving men come out with my stuff, and I took them up to my apartment. As I led them in, they set down my boxes, and I waved goodbye and said my thanks. I headed outside and stared at the L.A sunset over my balcony. I just needed a minute to regroup my thoughts and clear my head. So, so boring. I made my bed and called it quits for the day. I slept pretty well, after all, I did have a crazy long day. The next morning, I headed outside to check for mail, and found a neon green Post-It note on my door. It read: "Text me? :) 213-455-2342 - Josh p.s: I hope you have most of your boxes unpacked" I tore it down and input his phone number. I had to keep unpacking, but I'd text him later. Sorry." I mumbled, scrambling to make sense of his words. "I just wanted to say, and I know this is probably going to sound super creepy, so.. yeah, but aside from Tyler, I really don't know anyone like you. Talking to you is so easy, Riley. And I know this is what, our second day of knowing each other, but I really like you," he admitted. "I probably sound like the world's biggest stalker right now, so if you're weirded out, I get it." he laughed sheepishly. I chuckled a little bit. "Don't worry about it. If you want the whole truth, which I figure you do, I feel the same way. Maybe it's just because I've come from pretty much nothing, with few people who really cared about me, and who would listen. But I really do like you too. I don't know what to call this, but I like it." He glanced at the ground, running a hand through his blood red hair. "I don't know if this needs to be called something, and I don't know either," he laughed. "But I think we need to keep talking and hanging out. Because this seems promising. I nodded in agreement. "Definitely." He looked back up at me, his brown eyes reflecting the gold paintings on the walls of my white apartment. "Well, it is getting late, so.. I should probably head back to my apartment so you can do whatever. I'll see you around, Miss Brayer." Josh winked. I watched him leave my apartment. "Bye, Mr. Dun." I
