ZACH We were at the manistee river. I have never went tubing before. It was a hot day in the summer. I was waiting for my tube to get blown up with air. My mom and stepdad's friends were there. My mom's friends had an air pump to blow all of our tubes up with air. They plugged the air pump into their car cigarette lighter. Then we all got our tubes out and brought them over to their car. Then they turned on the air pump grabbed one of the tubes and started filling it up with air. After one to two minutes the tube was all the way filled up with air. Then they started grabbing more tubes and started filling them up with air. After about 30 to 50 minutes there was about 30 tubes and they were all filled up with air. Then we all grabbed a tube
On a cold Thursday morning, school was in session but I was starting on my way to Lake Winnibigoshish. I was going up there with my five foot nine, one hundred forty pound dad and my five foot nine, two hundred thirty pound neighbor. We stopped in at the Senior Center for some donuts, and went to Holiday Gas Station for some coffee and a cold drink.
Rugged River Rapids In the rugged river rapids, The salmon slowly swim. Four years in the ocean,
Wow! When we ride around on dirt roads every weekend, we always see people with nice and exciting fourwheelers or golfcarts going to the sand pit.Sometimes people will take their fourwheeler to the sand pit in Axson, even a new fourwheeler. They will go in deep water with it. If I had one I would not go in water with it, at first anyway. But in Axson now, there is water over the roads, because the Satilla River is out of the banks. The water is so much out of the banks, you can not go under the bridge at Axson.
One weekend, my friend Hannah and I wanted to go on a quad ride during the night. It was during the summer and we were at Hannah’s house and we were bored. So we thought it would be a good idea to go for a ride, so we asked her step dad if we could and he said yes. We both thought it would be super fun to go for a quad ride. So, we get all geared up in proper clothing because it was cold out and off we went.
In my school I am part of a community service group called start something, we help people in our community who are not as fortunate, or help clean in our community to keep our city beautiful. My first community service event was the Spicket River cleanup, the Spicket River is a small river that goes through Lawrence. The river goes through many parts of Lawrence, some people’s trash ends up in the river,[every year I look forward to this event to help the environment and my community] this is why every year I look forward to participating in The Spicket River Cleanup.
This summer, I received an invitation to stay at my friend’s house on the Rappahannock River. During my stay, we spent the majority of our time outdoors amongst the nature and wildlife. Upon our arrival, we dropped everything and grabbed the canoes. As we set off, I looked at my surroundings. While the water was calm, peaceful, and a comforting shade of dark blue, something else grabbed my attention: the litter. Near the docks, I could not help but notice the bright yellow Lay’s potato chip bag and the six pack rings from someone’s soda. Seeing the trash just floating in the water frustrated me. Here I was in this gorgeous environment, and my eyes cannot stray from a potato chip bag! As I floated away, there was little I could do. However,
The River by Gary Paulsen is a Realistic Fiction novel. The River has 133 pages. According to a customer review on Amazon, “I loved how Brian returned just to save people's lives.” I think the intended audience is for 3rd grade and up because there are some terms and words that young children won’t understand.
Follow The River by James Alexander Thom is about Mary Ingles gruesome but yet courageous tale of her remarkable 1,000 mile journey home after she had escaped form the captivity of the Shawnee Indians. Through Mary Ingles hard work and determination she proved that all obstacles big and small can be overcome.
My preschool years I started off at a school called Lake Rim in Hope Mills, North Carolina. My teacher's name was Mrs.Keller and we were all little kids so we thought she was scary because her name was so close to killer. By the second day we realized that she was a very compassionate and nice teacher after giving us candy for every math problem we got right. I didn't go to Lake Rim for long because I think we were two months into the school year and as I was getting out of the reading tub one day a kid named Jermaine. He had just got done at the math section before running across the classroom screaming and as I turned around to get out of the tub he superman kicked me in the face and I flew back into the tub. Mrs.Keller quickly came over to see if I was alright and took me to the guidance office because I had a bloody nose and a boot mark on my face.
I can not describe how shocked I am at the moment. During the whole trip from Independence to the Kansas River, Abigail was becoming increasingly impatient. She felt more and more ill by the minute, and described her pain as feeling exceedingly nauseous and lightheaded. Soon after, her poor weak body could not walk any longer. She was incredibly unstable on her feet, and that is when she fully tripped and slammed onto the ground. Everything happened so fast… yet so slow. I felt like I have just fainted myself! Dan is checking up on her, and thankfully her heart is still beating, but it’s beating abnormally. He hopes to figure out exactly what is wrong with her.
One cold, dreadful winter day in November, the wind was biting at our faces, high in the Ouachita mountains at Ash Creek deer camp, I would have to face my most dreaded fear. I would be faced with losing the person that means the uttermost to me.
The sun was glistening through the tall, swaying pines. To the right of the trail, a gentle river flowed softly down towards the mouth of the lake. Walking across the rickety wooden bridge, I inhaled a deep breath of refreshingly crisp mountain air. The sun beat down on me as I made my way across the bridge and back onto the well-used hiking trail. The ambient sounds of chirping birds, babbling water, and the croaks of several frogs filled my ears as I made my way around the bend. As I entered the mouth of the forest, I could see my father standing in the middle of the path, glancing upwards, taking in the beauty that had began to engulf us. “We better get going.” he said, looking back at me. “There’s still many miles to go.” I smiled and turned, taking in one last view of the beautiful creekside. Then, with determination, we set out to finish the challenging trek we had started.
The parents were fed up with our wild animal like behavior and told us to play downstairs in the basement. We all went down the basement and started to playing tag. Therefore, we had to be careful playing because the basement was not finished at the time and had metal studs where the walls are supposed to go and the concrete floors that are now hardwood. When everybody went upstairs because they were as tired as an olympic runner after a meet my Dad came down to fix a light bulb. He used a ladder to fix it so he could reach and when he was done he went upstairs so I was the only one in the basement. I wanted to be like my Dad so I decided to climb the ladder. I was at the top when my foot slipped off the ladder. Somehow I was able to turn my body around and grab onto a pipe to stop myself from falling. I felt the pipe starting to brake so I decided to swing on to the metal stud next to me because I was sure that was going to hold me. When my
One warm summer morning my sister, dad, and I were sitting and watching T.V. and my best friend’s dad called and invited us over for the weekend. He said
exciting. So my friends know that i have the fear of roller coaster and heights so they wanted to put me on the fastest and highest ride to overcome it, but i chickened out and i didn't go on the rides they went on, i went on 2 water rides and a new one they had. Both of the water rides was fun one of them was like log one where you have swirls but then it goes up a hill then it lets you fall and all the water splashes all over you and me and my mom were soaking wet. The other was like a wheel and it was my mom and me and 4 other of my friends and the wheel would swirl around by itself and it was on a river canal and it would have dips and you would get wet and since the wheel would swirl around you would think its someone else that will get wet but yet it would be you or someone else. The other roller coaster was pretty big for me since i'm afraid of heights and roller coaster i was screaming the whole entire time and oh my goodness i was so mad at my mom because she traumatised me! After we went on the water rides my mom and i went and changed.
